It looks like the Buxton & Peak Forest Extension to Just Train's Midland Main Line is imminent. I had an email today from Just Trains with links to various MML extensions and it also stated: "If you purchase the new Buxton & Peak Forest Extension which is due for release in the next few days, the updated Midland Main Line: Sheffield-Derby route must FIRST be installed and THEN the updated Hope Valley Extension." I've been looking forward to Peak Forest ever since it was announced. Lots of lovely modern freight action!
Now available on the Just Trains store. Note from Just Trains: "IMPORTANT! This Buxton and Peak Forest Extension requires that you have first installed the latest version of the Just Trains Midland Main line: Sheffield-Derby route and also the latest version of our Midland Main Line: Hope Valley Extension."
Beautiful route, such a pity there's no more additions to these outstanding routes. Or any TSC routes from JT.
Yes I admit it may be a rumour and I would love to be proved wrong! I would dearly like to see more routes added, after all the MML extended to the Humber.
It’s been mentioned several times by Thomas who works for Just Trains (but on his own YouTube Channel, so not official) that there will be no more ‘in house’ DLC for TSC developed by JT. But he didn’t completely rule out new releases from 3rd parties contracted to them. I believe Peak Forest itself is primarily developed by a third party and not the in house team so maybe there will be more extensions. Two of my favourite routes are from JT, so fingers crossed it’s not the end of TSC content from them completely.
I'd love to see Sheffield to Lincoln via Worksop and Retford. Hopefully someone will pick it up and run with it. This is one of the best route networks out there.
You've just typed a lot of words repeating what we already knew and has already been outlined in posts above, I know exactly what Tom said as I watched the stream when he said it, You've not made anything clearer or correct-er even with your added capitalised words for emphasis.
I will be publishing MML Buxton on my WEB Site: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/uk-routes/mml-buxton-peak-forrest
Disappointing they could not be bothered correcting the track layout or signalling at Slade Lane Jn Using Double Slips instead of Diamond Crossings
Considering the sheer quality of the route as a whole, it seems a bit unreasonable to focus on something so small which doesn't affect functionality. The use of "bothered" suggests some form of laziness which is totally unwarranted IMO. A diamond crossing that should be a double slip would be another matter as it would restrict routing.
So we should just look at the quality and ignore the things that are not right? If this was Freeware then Yes. It is Payware so you think they would check what they are doing - a Diamond would have been a lot easier to lay than a Double Slip Doing a Free Roam from Piccadilly I'm on Greens all the way to Slade Lane and next min I'm going wrong road towards Stockport over the Down fast because the Signal has a link to every possible route and it gives me a Green to go Bang Road
There is a train which runs MO every 6 weeks 1Q41 1311 Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail) to Crewe C.S. (L&Nwr Site) https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:H01870/2024-04-01/detailed Which is normally GBRf Class 73's top and tail Seen at Altrincham Peter
Yes, sort of. Here it's more like a very subtle flickering in the sky apparently not dependent on the weather but it does impinge on the scenery to an extent.
Oh that's a relief thought it was my odd computer! I downloaded a scenario that had AP's lightning activated and it was flashing all the time due to this issue, have you sent a support ticket as this only does it on the new section not on the other routes? I have sent a ticket to JT could you do the same please.
I also see it in other areas, Derby for example, and I don't have AP Weather installed for the JT MML. Will investigate further and report to JT next week.
Have you reported it to JT, Its unlikely that they will see this so best would be to directly let them know.
Investigations so far show that if I use the AP Weather ToD files instead of the JT ones the flickering doesn't happen. I'm out of my depth here but I see that the AP weather pack installs some shaders, possibly overwriting the default TSC ones, could that be relevant? Early start tomorrow so that's it from me for now.
The Quail track maps diagram for this route has these crossings labelled as "switch diamonds". Not saying that is correct, but as this is a fairly standard reference source for track layouts it is perhaps understandable how the error occurred. Unhelpfully, Quail never define what they mean by using that term, and it's not one I've ever seen or heard used by people who've worked on the railways - flat/grade (US) or diamonds are the usual terms - but it suggests something other than a standard crossing.
AP have updated the weather enhancement pack however I have disabled bloom in the install options and all is fine.
They have been Switch Diamonds since the 1960s when the track layout changed - and still are today This map was done for Train Crew and shows the Switch Diamonds This is the Network Rail Sectional Appendix Looking at Manchester Picc you can see how Switch Diamonds are shown. These Sectional Appendix are available to download for free so why it was not used I don't know. If I was not such a pain to try and change I would attempt it myself. Peter
It has been like this since it was first released and I reported it then - which is why I hoped it might have been updated.
