I recently got the extremely funny idea about what it would be like if the class 700 (Thameslink) would be a german train in a german livery (Deutsche Bahn)? So I started throwing paint around. Aaand doing some translations: and heres some exterior stuff: so this is still far work in progress, I still gotta translate everything thats in the cab and on the exterior I believe, and I also have a problem I caught myself into, but its probably gonna work out. I might also plan to add PZB and Sifa in the future, but I have no idea how I am supposed to do that as of yet.
Looks funny, if it would fit for the german platforms. If I remember correctly, the british trains are higher and thinner
it should fit for atleast 72cm platforms, other ones that are also probably used by DB Regio trains are a bit too low sadly
Well, TSW is a strange game and not everything works like it should in real life and vice versa. The game maybe let's you allow to get passengers into the train, nonetheless. The NPC won't say "hey, this train is too high for me!" - Sadly, since I don't know how passenger spawn into a train, yet, I can't say whether if it is possible still or not. The train still could be used for costum scenerios in Scenario Planer and Free Roam, though. "Yet is not everyday's evening."
for people who only want realism true. I'd personally not use it. but I suppose it could be used in some interesting fictional routes or timetables. It doesn't look bad and if there were some future interesting british/german border route someone made like the italian one someone is working on I would like to see it on there.
ikr. saw one today in the pc editor or suggestions forum. I personally strife for realism but I would not mind a fictional route
I have not forgotten. Infact, I will continue working on this as I stopped doing so for a while. Hope some are still interested!
Progress keeps ongoing. Finished the basic interior coloring. Will move onto the cab and exterior decals soon. A lot of translating awaits me there.
currently actually planning to, if it works, make it substitute into 8 car regio services across routes, and if I manage to do that increase its throttle output so it can accelerate faster. since it can drive on german routes, just with an extremely slow acceleration.
Well I think it looks really great I am always interested looking at unusual and niche projects as they, usually, fire up the imagination. This certainly fits the bill.
What software did you use to do this? And how did you manage to transfer the 3D of the train into the software?
