I am unable to run AP enhanced trains out of Reading towards Paddington. Bath to Bristol gave me absurd floating scenery in Quick Drive. Scenery errors and grey error screens everywhere i tried. So i ran tools, clear cache, restart, but no joy there. Loaded a standard scenario from JT ... no tracks ! Why was this not an optional update on Steam ? Why was it not an update available at the JT web site ? I don't own anything in China rail and won't but why was JT lumped in with those updates ? Had i known, i would have blocked the JT DLC in my Steam setting properties ! At this moment, forget 40$ USD Wessex extension to Salisbury. I want my AP enhancements, not Just Trains route extensions !
Deselected the JT Reading-Exeter in Steam but the a Quick Drive out of Reading to Paddington simply did not open. So i clicked settings, tools and did a clear cache, restart. Quick drive from Reading still fails to load. Proc Mgr shows Railworks64 churning CPU, but mem sits at 830.3 ... so this is bad news .. no disk access ... brute End Task. So dropping the route extension has left Reading damaged or even more damage ? This is so not amusing ...
I presume you are talking about Western Mainlines as that is the only route that covers Exeter and Paddington. I have no idea what update you are talking about? Running a quick drive with AP enhanced stock would not make a difference to the scenery. Just try running a normal - non AP Enhanced train - in Quick drive and see if the problem is the route
There was an update yesterday: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/train-simulator-classic-update-25th-march-2024.80045/ Someone reported an issue about some asset funsies: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/upcoming-wessex-main-line-steam-jt.80048/#post-817124 It's often a conflict when assets are extracted, packaged or otherwise tampered, and the update causes inconsistency. Spikee recommends creating a copy of your entire RailWorks folder and play that. Let Steam update the core game and only merge when you're sure it's going to work.
