GWR is a route where poles block a view of a signal, but if we could shift our driver view point slightly left or right without moving from the engineer's seat or sticking our neck out a window, i.e., with the controls in place before us, we might see that signal earlier. It seems important when using F1 for no HUD or a using a HUD not revealing signal aspect. Parallax change is an issue to resolve some signals exiting tunnels at a station platform and even in some stations. We can raise and lower our point of view for photos ... Top row numbers 4 and 5 are available for view left, view right ? In some UK DMU and EMU the driver front view is very limited by the design for coupling with a passageway ... i imagine those drvers craning their neck forward to see left or right of center. Zoom seems no help on GWR. With electrification they must reposition or alter some signal lamps? Do any locomotives or driving cabs have adjustable engineer/driver seats in the sim ? BTW, are there more points for objectives completed without a HUD ?
Consider getting an eytracker which allows free head movement. (Not sure if it works with TSW though, on Matt's TSC streams he was using TrackIR.)
