If they want 390s they should do Euston to Rugby or Coventry, you get the top speed potential and also it would contemplate the modern Bakerloo line route. WCML using old locos should be done either from Lancashire to Carlisle or from Rugy to Crewe.

I do hope to see another London Underground route in TSW but would prefer something that has a bit of underground like the Metropolitan Line which looks beautiful in TSC or the Piccadilly to Uxbridge and Heathrow. These would be my choices and both have lots of variety.

Even the district line, or a similar subsurface one would be different enough.
Could retrofit the 484 into the old C/D stock and then also set it with the S7/S8 (Whatever it is) as a perfect timetable

You wouldn't be able to modify the 484 to make a D78 stock, they're just too different after the rebuild.

No true, but you already have the rough shell, just needs tweaking back into the D78 internals.
At least you have the dimentions and such

You would already have the basic sounds at least, they would only need a bit of tweaking.

The work really isn't the bodyshell, it's the small details that matter. The cab is completely different, the interior is very different, the undercarriage is different, and of course there's the centre coaches to build.

Also the Class 484 sounds nothing like my recollection of how D78 stock sounded. A bit too growly and just off to my ear. Now whether that's because Rivet butchered the sounds or the traction equipment changed during the conversion I couldn't say, but it doesn't come across as a nice clean and smooth DC whine.

At least its something they can work with. All they need to do is modify it which can't be any more difficult than creating it again from scratch.

I think you're missing my point.

Having the stock shell is a good basis as the exterior changed little along the length of the coaches and at either end (Bar the cabs)
Yes I know the cabs and interior is vastly different, but at least a fair amount of work is already (mostly) done, meaning that it wouldn't be a complete scratch build.

I hear similarities, quite a few but obviously it is rebuilt so would sound different

The TSW one doesn't sound that good anyway, although the real 484 also sounds quite different from the D78 anyway.
And you're missing my point - the bodyshell is the easiest bit to make. It's a very simple bodyshell design.

My friend made this model in about ten minute. It's not to scale or complete (obviously), but it is a D78. You really don't understand how 3D modelling works; the bodyshell is the simplest bit of the entire model.

The D78 cab is very different to the Class 484 - every part of it needs to be modelled from scratch, basically nothing from the 484 can be ported over. The passenger interior is also different in some ways although not as different as some D-train variants (and who knows what variations we could have if GWR continues development of the D-train).

Finally, the undercarriage requires a lot of remodelling as well.

It seems we're all going to end up in Barking, whichever line we take.

This obsession with London railways is driving me mad. I'm Barking at the moon.

c2c has been owned by three companies, none of which were American. The first was Prism Rail, which owned LTS (c2c), Valley Lines, Wales and West and WAGN. Then Prism (and by extension c2c) were bought by National Express, who years later sold c2c to Trenitalia.

Just a bit of snark which I happily deleted. Don't want to cause trouble y'know. ;)

I didn't realise it was sarcasm, I thought you genuinely thought it was owned by the Americans, sorry.
