DTG Liam. If it is indeed true, and not just a rumour, I have a few suggestions for improvements to the GWE route for consideration. Hopefully other members will add suggestions for consideration as well, but here goes... Addition of classes 165/1, 180, 332 and 360/2 as dlc for extra services (unbranded if licensing is a issue). Addition of all branches, passenger and freight. Platform 1A at Paddington. Remodel of Ealing hospital from Wharncliffe Viaduct and other local scenery. Southall gasometer needs red roof lights and further draw distance. Tweaks to Hayes and Harlington station frontage and end of Platform 4. Tweaks to West Drayton bus turning area outside station. I hope some of these are already in mind should this project be a reality.
The London Underground side at Ealing Broadway needs a more realistic track layout. Especially on the District Line
Add tube trains on the tube platform at Paddington to Westbourne Park and Royal Oak and add the Elizabeth line to Reading/Heathrow As for an extension I’d like to see 1 of these: Bristol Temple Meads via Swindon or Bath Spa/Chippenham Bicester Village via Didcot Parkway and Oxford/Oxford parkway Taunton via Castle Cary With all branches between Paddington and Reading too.
Another add on for the route they might consider adding is Paddington to Hereford via Worcester not using tfw just the GWR line.
A bit on the long side. Any improvements will likely only cover the existing section which has various areas that need improvement.
Hammersmith and City tube trains as AI between Paddington and Westbourne Park will need to wait until we get (if ever) the S7 stock. Same applies to District Line AI at Ealing Broadway.
I would like to see the following: Class 800 Extended to Heathrow, Oxford & Swindon Heathrow Express Elizabeth Line Upgraded to modern day Fixed bugs
Discussed many times, Heathrow is problematic as the line belongs to Ferrovial (Airport owners/operators). The other branches would be far more appropriate to add as extensions as they will likely never be included otherwise. The current rendition would be great if only it received improvement and dlc. Most appropriate dlc options are... Class 57 and Mk3 Sleeper stock Class 165/1 Class 180 Class 360/2 (Paddington to Heathrow Junction only) Class 332 (Paddington to Heathrow Junction only)
For GWE I always wanted to see it extended to Heathrow with the 332 (I’m aware of licensing issues on this though) The 180 is probably better served as a loco addon for another route and layered back GWE as it stands is probably a no go for upgrades, its tech is old and like an ancient language, it’s hard to do anything with without breaking it bad. GWE if it got a future version (it would be a new route like the new LIRR) (provided GWR get back on board pun intended) I think it would probably be in the modern era with the older era in the current classed as done, otherwise that era would to have to be remaked like LIRR
Adding the passenger and freight branches increases the mileage by around 40 or so miles. The main line itself could be extended to Didcot, Newbury or Oxford but I think that is the extreme limit of possibility.
I guess you mean Heathrow? Running to Gatwick would require the North Downs Line via Guildford and Redhill from Reading (which I have suggested previously as a link up between GWE and BML). If GWR licensing is problematic, perhaps it is time to go back to NSE/IC Swallow days to circumvent this problem. The current rendition is just so lacking at this point. GWE has also NEVER had a period correct dlc loco add on.
Quick question where and what is platform 1A at london padidngton becuase I've never heard or seen it ingame.
It is/was the parcel platform at Paddington that is more or less an extension of platform 1. Not my photo. Bufferstops to the left, towards Reading to the right.
There also were, at one point, tunnels under the platforms and tracks that, while initially used by passengers, were later used for parcels movement only. I believe that they are all gone now but might be wrong. As for backdating, I have to say that I preferred the old departure board on the concourse across the ends of platform 1 to 6 or so.
Perhaps the scenery modellers could work on improving Trellick Tower just west of Westbourne Park. Also it might be prudent to model Windsor Castle from the Slough area as it should be somewhat visible from the air above the station.
Some more images of areas for improvement. Detailed image of Platform 4 end features at Hayes and Harlington station. Hayes and Harlington station frontage. The Record Store building just west of Hayes and Harlington station. This and multiple buildings on the record factory site in need of more accurate representation including Enterprise House and the Shipping Building. Real profile of West Drayton station forecourt. The platform can be seen behind the building but 1 floor up, unlike the current in game profile.
A few more images. Acton to Northolt line from Old Oak Common to Northolt via Greenford. Line to left of tube lines. Image looks towards Old Oak Common. Greenford Station. Brentford Waste Terminal. Colnbrook oil terminal.
A few more images to aid the imagination. Windsor and Eton Central Station Bourne End Station Marlow Station Henley on Thames Station
Colnbrook, Brentford and the Greenford branch can definitely add lots more passenger and freight variety.
There’s no services to reading with portals to Swansea/Carmarthen or Penzance on departures all I can see is mostly Great Malvern and Bristol TM. We need 800
Station Jim at Slough station please! http://www.sloughhistoryonline.org....-i-00-000.tif&t=sl-sl-transport&s=Qd0ORx2bxk1
Two more landmarks that should be visible. Both are between Hayes and West Drayton. If you look South... Heathrow Control Tower Looking to the North... Hillingdon Hospital
They could use the ‘WCR’ depot at Southall they could non-copyright it by putting ‘DTG Railtours’ Logos on where the WCR Logos are.
