Again, driving a train in a game is different compared to real life. The train driving in TSW is simplified, and nothing like the real thing.
We can agree to disagree then. I have been driving them for a career in real life. what TSW does do is gives the basic concepts. And you said you find that boring. Time to find a career change if I was you. Have a lovely day no need to carry this on
if you don’t already have it I recommend the expansion for Edinburgh to Glasgow as well that adds some good content to that route as well. It’s the rivet games pack.
I have every UK DLC and indeed the rivet engineering express pack is great. I have enjoyed seeing the One and DRS 66 sub in on other routes too. Hopefully the fife circle will layer onto E-G too
I can't say too much at this stage but whilst testing this pack, I'm having a lot of fun with it. Lots of new services and incredible wagon detailing. To my ears, the wagon sounds are very nice too. At face value it just looks like another old freight wagon but it adds a lot to the experience, as well as building up the collection of modern British freight wagons. Vol. 1 is the taster with Vol. 2 being the full course meal. I'd say this is their best yet
Sorry to keep this going but don’t want to clutter another thread as we spoke about it here already, One thing I will say to get into the habit of doing jack#9468 and anyone else thinking of becoming a driver is get into doing sudoku daily. That’s really good for getting you into the mindset for the exams you apply for and is good brain training. If you get a chance at work on a break etc try and do the sudoku you get in the metro news paper.
Maybe there is a reason I dont understand, but right from the outset of TSW. Why couldnt stock substitutions be tagged by their id description and not by region? For example- Class 66 - sub Class 66 GWE EWS, Class 66 GWE DBS, Class 66 EWS CL, Class 66 EWS PBD. and so on. Rather than a catch all like UK.There is always a danger of inappropriate locos spawning in. It will only get harder to navigate as more RVDs are added to the game. Could do with a DTG update to get all these tags into order. Im sure 3rd parties wouldnt oppose it if it made their lives easier.
Nice idea I have noticed when going through menus whilst growing the collection it does start to get cluttered. TSC had options to select specific items and routes etc. this is a good idea thumbs up.
Thats how it is I believe. In fact it goes further giving the ability to define number of axles and power expectations, and even vehicle length I think. Region is needed in order to stop an SD40 subbing in for a Class 66, a 47 appearing on US routes, or a European and UK 66 swapping.
So for example A GWE timetable freight file would have- Region tags UK, United Kingdom, EWS, Toton. The only thing stopping anything else with those tags is the axle count and power. If it was simplified to GWEEWS66, GWEDBS66, ECW66, SEHS66, CLP66, PBD66, and the RVD tags were updated to reflect this. You wouldnt need all the power and axle definition. The sub tag alone would point to exactly the loco you wanted to be involved.
That's too restrictive. What the system needs is the ability to blacklist tags as well as whitelist them.
How is it too restrictive? You might have seen these tags whilst doing your TVL tt mod (great btw). JT had 4 47s circulating for subs on their Bpool route. They didnt want an IC 47 on the Burn Naze runs. So had to give their locos a specific id for the region in their rvd. I cant see a downside to this apart from the work required to get all the dlc up to scratch. Using the region tags to name the specific desired locos and not regions means that you can add whatever you like with absolute accuracy. Its a time consuming job but a simple one. Update 1 - add new tags to stock dlc Update 2 - add new tags to route dlc Update 3- delete old tags and unnecessary info Share the rvd tags between 1st snd 3rd party.
I'm thinking that the partly hidden locomotive in the ad is a Class 59. It clearly had the "zig-zag" EWS stripe instead of the straight line stripe seen on most Class 66 locomotives, and the 59s did spend there lives on heavy aggregate trains. Seems like too much of a coincidence, and all it would take is a few alterations to the cab ends to turn that 66 into a 59.
I think your getting them the wrong way around. The Class 59 had a single stripe, the Class 66 the zigzag.
The entire community would actually explode if they finally added a new UK freight loco, and it was the 59. There is no way they are going to do that.
Oh boy I can see it it now, people wouldn't be able to type out cash grab fast enough lol. Getting a new loco, which is what we all want let's be honest, but having the exact same body as the 66, especially if they went with the 59/2.......
Does anyone know the release date for cargo line vol 2 the first one was great maybe they could release it with a new freight loco the BR Class 70 ?. Sky-hook games released a teaser trailer for it sometime ago it seems to have gone a bit off radar forever since
more interested on the other side of europe. hope there will be a cargo line pack for german/austrian wagons one day. I got the vol1 a few weeks ago on sale and for now I can't wait on vol2
Sadly there doesn't appear to be any release date as of now - hopefully in next week's roadmap we'll get an update on it but as of now there's no more info. I would absolutely LOVE it if the Class 70 came with it, it could happen.. maybe this new loco DLC will be the 70 (or 60 - a 60 would fit better with the wagons I think) and they'll release both at a similar date? I think that's me being wishful though...
Thanks for that Cargo vol 1 was great when it was released just before Christmas last year When is this months road-map by the way?
Currently no release date mentioned. And no loco. From what I understand its scenarios for SEHS, MML and GWE. Services for MML and GWE only. Check out LucaZone flickr page for teaser shots. his flickr page is https://www.flickr.com/photos/transrail/ Hope theres some news soon https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53613591968_87346fa052_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53603122222_d9c5ac6b1f_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53599363833_b46e22b432_z.jpg Cheers Hentis
Ooh, is that the first time we've had graffiti on a train not using CC?? Looks good either way, and it's definitely going to add more realism!
Ah okay, I believe it may be the first time a UK route has had some form of rolling stock with graffiti then..?
I'm pretty sure the next gameplay pack will not add a new loco, but if we have to have another 66 please lets have some decent repaints that aren't in the game already. Hopefully the 47 and 52 will be able to sub in again.
I think it is 66s unfortunately but I'm just glad SHG are making some fresh new content tbf! Especially on GWE too! So I am definitely looking forward to this! Since MML I have to say I've been very impressed with SHG and Adam especially! Hopefully a new freight loco is in the pipeline somewhere though!
Have to say additionally the whole screenshot looks actually looks really nice upon closer inspection. The clutter in the yard and just the scene looks really good just zooming in on different bits. The graffiti looks different on the wagons from what I can see as well.
Maybe a route extension? I hope so! we'll see! I hope they also update the Vol. 1 Pack, adding graffiti to the tanks too!
Does anyone know where about on the route that screenshot is taken, I tried zooming in but am not at home so don't have access to my laptop so its all blurry. See below.
Ah no, it has just loaded, it appears to be that section of track and siding just North of Leicester, Humberstone road siding area I believe.
