I've been looking at so many WCML posts and realise why some of those posts may not be added or fail altogether: They have too much traction to include. Logically it would be too much work to include like 4/5 trains with a ton of stations in a single route. Instead, I'll suggest some sections that Dovetail can make with which trains. [All are in modern day] Bold = new train featured / debuted .class 66s obviously features on most/all routes Sections: •WCML south: Euston - Rugby All stations along the way. .Class 710 Overground .LNWR class 350 .LNWR class 730 .Southern class 377 .Bakerloo line train .AWC class 390 .[DLC] class 81 •WCML Rugby - Stafford .either/both directions via Rugeley and Birmingham -If Possible extension to Shrewsbury .WMR class 172 .TfW Class 175 .class 350 .AWC class 390 .XC class 170 •WCML Stafford/Rugeley TV - Manchester .both via Crewe and Stoke .includes Stoke - Crewe .possible extension to Manchester Airport .Class 70 .Northern Class 323 .TPE & LNWR class 350 .AWC class 390 .Class 220/221 voyager .TPE class 185l (+existing trains) •BONUS: NWML Crewe - Holyhead .AWC class 390 .TfW class 158 .TfW Class 170 •WCML Crewe - Preston .AWC class 390 .class 350 .[DLC] Class 85 •WCML Preston - Carlisle .Windermere branch: Northern Class 195 (From another route) .AWC class 390 .TPE class 350 .DRS class 68 .Caledonian Class 73/92 .[DLC] Class 86-87 +existing trains •WCML Carlisle - Glasgow .AWC class 390 .TPE class 350 .DRS class 68 .Caledonian Class 73/92 .XC, LNER and Scotrail stock •Bonus: Carstairs Junction - Edinburgh (Likely extension from Glasgow - Carlisle route) If you have any feedback, please do let me know. I've only ever been to Harrow & Wealdstone and south of it so my familiarity up north is not very good.
It would be a tragedy if WCML, whichever portion, was not done with an AC tap changer loco, Class 81 to 87 hauling classic Mark 2E or 2F coaches.
