Can you elaborate as to what "not in service" means? Do you mean like a train that's dead-heading to a yard after it's done with its run? Or do you mean like a retired locomotive awaiting the torch?
Please can we do a week where we all upload our favourite screenshots that we have used previously and haven't won with?
Take a look into the B&LE's Ablion Yard on a late afternoon, and you'd surely find steam, steam, steam and not a diesel in sight as the engine crews carry out their daily routines. Route Used: Bessemer and Lake Erie Locomotives Used: B&LE Santa Fe, B&LE Six Coupled
As a Sharknose rolls past the small yard at Cresson, the crew from a K4 gives a friendly "toot toot!" and a wave as they go about their switching duties. Route Used: Horseshoe Curve Locomotives Used: PRR Baldwin RF-16, PRR K4
It's all action on the Portsmouth Direct Line here at Wimbledon Depot, as a variety of services pass. From left to right, we have a Class 416 on a stopping service, a Class 73 on a return working from Southampton, a Class 482 (A combination of a 3-car Class 421, a buffet car, and 4-car 421), a Class 101 awaiting service, and a Class 09 coupling carriages up, as well as a number of other units waiting to enter service.
I do enjoy this nice BR blue era screenshot. Was this created specially for the screenshot or is there a scenario I can download? I'd like to see this too
Yes, this scene is just for the screenshot contest. I am currently making a scenario with a similar setup, though.
It's a dark night at Carlisle Kingmoor Yard, and engineering works are underway while a Class 47 hauls parcels south, ready to tackle the grades of the West Coast Main Line over Shap.
It's a cool autumn evening in SCL's Hialeah Yard in 1977, and the night crew has boarded a set of U-boats in preparation to do some overnight switching. Meanwhile, the northbound Silver Star departs Miami in the background, bound for Hollywood. Route: Miami - West Palm Beach Locomotives: Amtrak SDP40F, SCL U36B, and Amtrak E8
Big Boy pulls out of the yards on the Soldier Summit route, as two D&RGW SD40T-2s and a GP9 wait alongside
A Norfolk Southern GP40-2 reverses into Dover Yard to form H-02 on the North Jersey Coast and Morristown Lines Route. Loco: GP40-2 (GP40-2 pack) Route: North Jersey Coast and Morristown Lines
On Mannheim to Karlsruhe Route. A Nice view of the Mannheim Yard with some container flat wagons and a bunch of locomotives. In the distance is a ICE-3M passenger service sailing pass them! Route: Mannheim to Karlsruhe Route Train: ICE-3M
Well, Dmitri isn't the only judge, the entire Dovetail team is. In terms of announcing a winner, Martin will most likely be the one doing it, as he tends to be the substitute contest manager.
A trainshow at the yard near Frankfurt Hbf with an ICE-TD, BR 266, BR 218, V200, ER20 Eurorunner, BR 648 and BR 294 among other trains on Frankfurt High Speed: Frankfurt - Karlsruhe Route
