    It’s a diorama on Goblin, you can find them at certain stations.

    You realise we will now end up with sandwiches as collectibles on some future route, don’t you! Jedi mind trick incoming for DTG Matt

    Fish finger (fish sticks to our North American friends) sandwiches are great, with a couple of slices of cucumber and either Philadelphia cheese or salad cream on top.

    Maybe a reworked GWE could have us looking for Paddington’s infamous marmalade sandwiches (which I’m also partial to at breakfast time).

    The 57XX from Riviera in the Fifties (and possibly other locos from that route) had a functional cornish pasty.

    I made a sandwich today and when I had finished I went to cut it with the knife I had used to butter the bread but there was no knife there. It was because I had completely missed out the buttering of the bread and went straight to the loading of the ham. I had to backpedal a wee bit. The most simple sandwich - bread, butter and ham, and I missed one of them out. I put it down to getting older.

    I poured orange juice into my Pot Noodle the other day. It was not intentional.

    the green things seem the worst thing about that but removing them it just leaves the beef :) must admit it kinda looks like a broth and beef sandwich on the right.

    I’ll take a whiskey over beer cider lager.

    I'm with you on the whiskey.

    The "green things" are hot giardiniera (chopped & pickled vegetables packed in oil--hot peppers, carrots, celery, cauliflower, and often olives) and belong there. It's a ubiquitous Chicago condiment that makes pretty much everything better.

    Oooh I have to say that the Giardiniera sounds really nice. Looks a bit more lethal than the Piccalilli I have in the fridge at the moment.

    Mind you, that is not going to stop me from having a corned beef and piccalilli sandwich right now. :)
    Having said that, there is some cold roast beef and horseradish in the fridge too.
    Which is best? There is only one way to find out out.

    I've heard of piccalilli but am not familiar with it. Kind of a pickle relish-y condiment, isn't it?

    Piccalilli is basically pickled cauliflower florets with a lot of (English) mustard added (and possibly turmeric for extra colour). I'm not a fan.

    TBH I find that circuses are just too in tents. ;)
    (I'll get my coat).

    Don't forget the courgettes, gherkins, carrot, green beans and shallots. Add a bit of cumin for a kick. Delicious :cool:

    I must admit, though, that many people find piccalilli a bit jar in.
    (Where's that coat?). :)

    to exact my revenge, here is a quick recipe for deliciousness:
    - fry some onions, bacon, maybe even small pieces of potatoes, season as you like
    - once thats done, put some eggs in there, 3 are good for a 26cm pan
    - let it solidify a bit on the bottom, then take a tortilla, and gently press it on the still wet/sloppy upper side of those eggies, should stick nicely
    - flip that, now you can put some more stuff on it if you want, or just put some grated cheese there, and add a second tortilla
    - flip that, until the cheese is melted and the tortilla at least a bit crunchy

    take that off the pan, slice it in pizza-style cuts... put your fav sauce on your plate to dip those pieces... enjoy, muahahahaah :D

    p.s.: for frying, pork lard/fat is very nice, and use non-stick pan if possible for better results :)
