This has always been broken, and remains unfixed. U877B Coal Loading at Shaw Mine. It is impossible to get more than 1860 points (bronze) with a perfect run. But the gold threshhold is 2350. Even the silver is 2150. My guess is that the service used to have a couple of Go Vias which were removed, along with their associated points. At any rate the scoring review team needs to look at this one (along with its follow-on U877C, Runaround at Yoder, where only a silver is possible).
If there’s a section where you can run back and forth a bit (even if it’s only 200yds) without failure or ending the service then you should be able to get the points needed, not ideal but should tick it off if you want it done.
Detach the wagons, noone really needs that coal anyway But assuming you have the room, and the patience, you might be able to detach the wagons, run the required distance back and forth with the locos, and when you have the points, reconnect them, I have a suspicion the consist is only checked when you reach objective markers
Still sounds possible, as I said above not ideal and probably tedious, if reversing and going forwards are both possible then it’s possible as that’s all it takes, bigger distances are quicker but shorter distances are possible it only requires distance.
Well, I did it, making a tedious service even more tedious! Loaded the coal hoppers , then detached the lead loco and drove it up to the mainline and back, twice. At 15 mph. Then a third trip with wagons in tow. But DTG really, really need to fix this. How long would it take someone to go into the service file and change a number?
It's probably low priority compared to other things like crashing or whatever. Their bug list is also huge and only growing
My mindset for medals is to come back to all the ones not gold or platinum when all the others are done (probably never) though I only have about less than 30 to sort out with over a 1000 completed so I could probably do them at some point sooner than that to catch up the 2 hour or more ones are quite a pain to fix when you find them, though thankfully a lot of the off medal scoring tends to show up on really short depot runs
