I have the York to Peterborough Modern route and I want to change the track. I started by cloning the base route to avoid messing that up. Using TS Tools I have changed one type of track for another from the Vulcan Productions Track pack. The base texture seems to overlap in places and I wondered how to correct that? I'm not sure about replacing the ground texture?
I had the same issue on another route. I could find a solution and reverted back. I'm not sure if it is the ballast profile or placement.
I suspect the Vulcan track has a lower height offset than the original route track. The default height is 0.36m. TSTools has an option to change the track height in the entire route (or at least it used to). I would suggest raising in increments of no more than 0.05m until the track is clear of the terrain. You don't want to raise it too much or it will be noticeably floating above the level of the terrain.
Thanks Steve, I might do the track swap again with a different track set but I will start by comparing different track heights. Peter
You were spot on there I laid a few sections of track and VP have put a gap between the track and the base which lowers it. I swapped to ECMLS track and it looks good.
