Hello, I have been away for about 2 weeks, and in that time, it looks like the Semmeringbahn has released, an LIRR 2.0 has been announced, a new community manager called Harry has joined, and the forum structure has changed. Have I missed anything else? How will new players differentiate between old and new LIRR? Why did the forum structure change? Thanks
It's barely a change. Some things have been separated probably for ease of use. The new lirr will say tsw4 on it, the m9 dlc and the branch. Graphically, it will have the tsw4 feature set. Timetable will be much busier. The old lirr will look old and empty but you still need it for the layer on trenton
The biggest thing lately was probably the debate on how much should original LIRR owners be paying for LIRR 2, but apart from that not much apart from what’s said above.
Wait, so even if you buy the new LIRR, you can't uninstall the old LIRR because the Trenton layers won't use the new trains? Is this for real, or just speculation? The new trains can't sub in for the old ones to fill those layers? No self-respecting programmer would actually consider that a satisfactory solution to this shambles, would they?
It will be correct, just not confirmed yet, but there’s nothing to confirm if they switched it everyone who wants the layers would need LIRR 2 so they would lose content and be forced to buy LIRR 2 if they want it back. Unless the layers can be controlled by more than one train it would always have that issue, plus it would take work on Trenton to implement that regardless.
I was told this on Youtube as well, and it doesn't surprise me that old LIRR is still needed for layers. I suppose that was to be expected. So if a new player goes onto the steam store and tries to find LIRR after watching a trailer on Youtube, there is nothing to tell them a better version is available? Given that the old LIRR is cheaper, I would imagine quite a few people would purchase it expecting the extension and the M9. I love the forums sometimes! Thank you everyone for your help!
well, most of the stuff here is a food for thought, so I thought, when the topic is right, why not provide a recipe for some actual physical food it's especially funny if you use that recipe to torture ppl who are hungry atm 3
That's brilliant! I am guessing you don't frequent the Troubleshooting subforum much. Is this correct?
I've just found out that TSG is working on the missing cab car from the DB BR 101. I remember people asking about it when the 101 first released. It seems, however, that this is a new 101, so we will now have 2 loco DLCs for the same train that run on different routes. Soon I'm going to lose track of locomotive and route versions!
It can be scary how unobservant I am sometimes considering how observant I need to be at work! I am lucky if I get through more than five alerts before getting distracted! I think the only time I go there is when the little snippet of title on the home screen for the forum appears and it interests me. May I ask what has changed to it?
If you have a hard time driving a 101, then you'll know it's the expert one unless you turn on easy mode.
There used to be a subforum called 'Troubleshooting and Guides' which had the troubleshooting and FAQ subforums in it. This appears to have been separated so that both forums are now available on the main screen (like it used to be).
Thanks mate, that is rather obvious as well! I did think the home page were bigger but must have just dismissed it!
