nah, I dont really enjoy alcoholic beverages... if beer, then rather a "radler" aka mix of beer and some lemonade or fruit juice or a cider, those are nice, and make me sleepy ok, so first quick recipe here... for a nice fluffy omelette: - take like 2-3 eggs, beat em, whip em into being as yellow and smooth as possible - add some salt, some paprika (for nice color), black pepper powder if you like, and especially, a lot of crushed garlic, I love it with as much garlic as would kill Dracula back in time and #mixwell - fry some thin slices of potato on some fat/lard until done - pour the mixture over it - cover the pan with a lid (or if you have a universal silicone cover/lid, even better) - by covering it you make it rise a bit - you can also add shredded cheese, either in the mixture beforehand or before covering the pan - drop it onto a plate, and if you like, spread some ketchup, mustard on it, and chop some veggies like scallions, onions or other, and put em on the omelette... yum
I am by no means a cook, forget a chef, but I have had to adapt to give myself a decent meal because I get in later than a time the Mrs is now happy to cook at and I cannot be relying on takeaways, or else I'll be needing to sit on the throne half way through a trip! However, something that is really simple, using only one (non-stick and relatively large) frying pan (and a small bowl) and I really enjoy is this. First of all you need to chop some steak up into 1 inch square(ish) pieces and chuck them in the frying pan with all the juices and let them cook for a few minutes. When they look a bit cooked put them to one side of the pan, and scramble a couple of eggs in a separate bowl and poor that in and let it scramble. Once it is sufficiently scrambled, chuck a tin of baked beans in and mix it all together and just keep it simmering away, adding some salt and pepper (the spice). Then if you are feeling healthy chop a red pepper up and chuck that in (though this stage isn't necessary) and wait for it to cook and all be piping hot. At this stage I add some cheddar in and mix that up, again optional. Once you are sure it is all cooked get yourself a nice bit place to put it on, a bread roll, a can of Irn Bru Extra and you are living the life! I will add a TM at my place tried making this himself and he said it were awful, so it does seem to be for the more refined diner!
sounds like nice english breakfast... I would perhaps fry a couple strips of bacon to the side as well
Mmm, interesting, never even thought of it as breakfast! I am actually in the process of cooking it now so will chuck a bit of bacon in and report back! I don't think it would be a proper English fry up though!
Well can confirm bacon the bacon is lovely with it. Right must be off to bed, will have a think about the garlic and other variations there!
I mean, if it is anything salty, aka not sweet, and it doesnt involve garlic, then you are doing sth wrong lol
