Thanks for the pointers! I have also found RRMods GP40-2, which looks exactly like from Searchlight Simulations. Are they different? Which one is better? https://rrmods.com/product-category/railworks/locomotive-rw/
Searchlight Simulation site is awful, I cannot even register an account there. And there is no support email or something... Is it possible to buy a loco from them nowdays?
No, on desktop. Tried from both browsers I have installed - from Firefox and from Edge. Nothing happends after the captcha.
Ingwar, we've run checks with FF and Chrome and it seems to be working on both just fine for us. It should send a confirmation email to whatever you've entered with a code. Would you mind giving it a try again?
Searchlight Simulations have three SD40-2 on their site. How do they differ besides skins? What are pros and cons for them? I cannot open page with their details somehow...
Another option for quality US content is Diesel Workshop. https://www.dieselworkshop.net/ I have several of their locos and they are all enjoyable to drive. Maybe not quite as detailed as Searchlight, but a good option. Note: Don't let the initial prices on their website scare you. The default currency is Brazilian Reals. Just change the currency and most locos are in the $13US range.
They are pretty good physics wise. They don't take off like a rocket like some locos. Sounds are good, textures are good. Youtube has reviews for most of them, but not necessarily all the liveries. They do have multiple packs that are essentially the same loco with different liveries (plus smaller differences based on customizations for railways preferences). I think I have all the different models (but not all the liveries) and haven't had a "why did I get that" moment. I haven't had a bad purchase from Searchlight either.
EMD SD40-2 NS and UP are marked unsupported on Searchlight Simulations site. Do they work on current TSC? Can anyone confirm this?
Machine Rail is also good. As far as I'm aware it's actually the same company as Diesel Workshop, but it's where they host their steam locomotives.
