The AI trains will always behave the same way, or at least they should. If they’re getting stuck, they’re either going too fast or too slow, or there are signalling issues on the line causing everything to stop.
Yea that ser that service has been reported , You can delete any AI train to complete your service. Most of the time just the one that's off path will do
Well having it played by a real person adds in a lot of variables. The dispatcher gets in the way and starts acting up or the person has certain driving techniques, etc. Bml was simulated for a really long time but it still had a bunch of service issues at launch.
lol, just saw Jan's post! Out of all those services, I picked one of the two broken ones to start with XD
Surely quite a few services are gonna fail - that queue had about 15 trains in it, and nothing was leaving Penn
Hi, I just played a service from Long Beach to Atlantic Terminal (#821). I'm happy to see a good step forward from the previous LIRR DLC. Trains seem to behave realistically. I also was surprised to see that the guard actually buzzes to tell us we can depart the station ! For the moment I'm liking what I see ! I've noted some issues : -At Island Park, the train clips into the platform : -The ADU speed limits are not visible with sunlight on it : -Trains pile up at Valley Stream. -The train clips on the retaining wall at the end of the curve, just before arriving at Jamaica : -Doors open without a platform in front at Nostrand Avenue : On the negative side, I don't know if it is prototypical, but there is absolutely no time to slow down when signal speed drops on the in-cab display. Even by quickly acknowleding the alarm, the train always slows down by itself to the adequate speed. It's not the case on Boston Sprinter for example.
This is DTG we're talking about... I doubt they'll even fix it. I mean... They did with SEHS... But still I hold my doubts
. I have attached a stream from Brandon earlier. He goes over the cab and signaling which is very helpful https://www.youtube.com/live/Y4YM96H2bCQ?si=iJ2hFniGqs6O3KJC
Yeah, there is a much bigger issue at play here. It isn't just a few services. this is something that constantly happens even on Trenton as well. Trains just stop and refuse to move unless you either quit the service or go onto the map screen and delete the service yourself. I've noticed this occurring not only at red signals but sometimes even when the path is completely clear. It's a dispatcher issue I assume.
Hello In general the route is great. You can see the effort the team has put into it, especially in the sound of the M9. On the services I have done 827 Long Beach - Atlantic Terminal and Ronkonkoma - NY Peen, at some stations, there were no passengers to board the train. On the last service, my train was practically empty throughout the entire journey. It would also be nice if the doors that do not enter the platform do not open, although that is more complicated. East New York has very unrealistic heavy fog. I have attached a screenshot of the game below.
If I understand correctly, MTA forced DTG to make all systems reliable and working by default. If so, DTG needs more partners like MTA. Cause final result is pretty good. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Matt said that the decision to update LIRR was caused by a lot of spam(in a good way) from players. But something tells me that players were more often asking for an expansion to Ronkonkoma. So... when Ronkonkoma!?
Hey Pixelade lots of hours were spend on this route. Probably is one of the most difficult yet for Joe. I was there for NJT and I can tell you this one is not that.As the article mentions they are aware of some dispatcher issues. The LIRR2 offers the most branches and variety of service from any other route in the game. This offer some much replayabilty from the shear amount os different services from the 5 branches.
My game keeps crashing at the same point! I’m on ps5 and was on journey mode using train 822NY penn-Long beach. Every time I get to same point game crashes I’ve attached a screenshot of exactly where game crashes. Don’t know if it will help or not thanks.
There also a video that Brandon made for TSC LIRR that really help me. I didn’t know anything about signal cab/ or LIRR signal. But once you learn them, learn the route to anticipate the cab drops , is very satisfying and immersive
Hi, I was about to report on train 876 as well, and see that it has already been addressed here. As I'm not well versed in the nuances of the game as much as others, I need to figure out how to delete the AI trains to keep the traffic moving. I just wanted to add on to what has been discussed for 876: It appears there is a far rockaway train at Valley Stream stuck at the start of the switch past those platforms, and the switch appears to be lined to go straight towards Lynbrook, instead of turn off towards Far Rockaway. I've attached a screenshot.
Thiis service was previously logged. I believe is service AI train service.2866 that’s goes off path.so what you can do is go on map view,on Xbox controller highlight the AI train, press A, the sandbox options comes up. Choose remove train. Confirm the delete train. The Train will disappear and you can complete your service. Hope this. Helps.
Got Trouble Screen blinking red in M7 with something about ATC not functioning as intended(but it works ok). Train 33 Babylon - AT(Journey mode). After restarting there is no alerts on Trouble Screen.
The trouble screen blinking with faults is doesn’t kill anything. That was put there for added immersion. You probably would love when you get the toilet fault. You can just clear it to stop blinking.
Really? That's almost cool. Almost cause a few properly simulated minor troubles would be really cool!
Rail Journeys, Chapter “Flex in the City”: - Train 2004 NY Penn - Ronkonkoma - Train 1618 NY Penn - Huntington - Train 2010 NY Penn - Ronkonkoma They all crash after driving for a while, it can be right after leaving NY Penn tunnel or before Jamaica. I haven’t tested other services from NY Penn, I had enough of the crashing and the game takes quite a while to load each time. I’m playing another game not crashing that often. Platform: PS5 Train: M7 & M9
Loving the route so far. Haven't run into any stuck trains but had to wait several miinutes each at Valley Stream and Jamaica due to busyness. It's a huge upgrade over the original LIRR, IMO. Great job ya'll!
During Rush hours you sometimes a line of trains on both Jamaica and Penn station. Also in LIRR2 the Atlantic Branch is really busy that’s has many different patterns.
I was looking forward to this route because I also liked the old one so much. What I like: The sounds are gorgeous now, when sitting in the cab all is squeaking and rattling, and certain ventilations and pumps go on and off. And I love the ATC/ASC system, it's so straightforward once you understand it. What I dislike: My major problem were heavy stutters up to 1-3 seconds every time some big buildings came into sight. So I reduced most graphics settings from ultra (which ran fine when I played last time on other routes) to medium. I still get stutters but not so heavy. I'll have to test which settings can be cranked up again. Then I noticed that when driving and the sun is shining from the right/behind side, it shines on the dashboard so it is nearly impossible to read the ATC settings. All numbers are equally white. Setting the dimmer didn't help. How about installing a sunshade on the right side with the next update ? The speed values in the TSW-HUD not always match with the values of ATC and ASC. Normally I wouldn’t mind that because I like to drive like ATC/ASC says. BUT when I do this, I get penalty points for speeding !! I can understand this is a problem of the TSW code, so I hope in the announced next TSW version this will be fixed… And I also had the problem that when driving M9 train 819 from Long Beach to Penn, I got stuck in the Penn tunnel because of another train in front of me. My system: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.90 GHz, 16.0GB RAM, RTX 3060 12Gb
Oh, don’t worry I’m well aware. I’m having lots of fun with the new route. The issue with stuck trains sadly persist on multiple routes. A handful of them from both my experience and reading what others are experiencing as well. LIRR 2.0 for sure is one of the best US routes if not the best dovetail has given us thus far in my opinion. Plus the signals are very very well done. Ofc thanks to cactusjuice
this service has already been reported and filed.as far as the speeds Shown on HUD, Matt made a video that explains all that. So remember even though you cab speed changes you still have to wait until your train has past that block before you speed up and that’s why the hud and Display don’t match 100%.i encourage you watch Brandon’s stream that goes over it https://www.youtube.com/live/Y4YM96H2bCQ?si=OoSM8vGYy7AH5HCS
This has got to be one of the best DLC’s released for TSW in my opinion. Sure, there are a few issues such as the AI’s piling up at Jamaica but wow…the sounds, physics, signaling and details are simply amazing and create super enjoyable sessions. I hope this route lays the foundation for more future US based routes, because if they’re done the way this route was done, there’ll be much much more eagerness to play. Very well done!
I would prefer a complete replacement of surface materials(shaders or whatever is responsible for the gloss). Everything in this game(and almost in every UE4 game) goes to extremes. If shine - then overshine in "you dont need your eyes anymore" mode, even concrete, even grass, EVEN mat surfaces! If darkned - then 0, 0, 0 RGB. Such an ugly and unrealistic immersion killer.
On the Microsoft store, it still states I need the original LIRR to use the m3, has this not been changed yet or do I need the original?
Can’t agree with this more! It’s SO so good but part of this being so good makes me a little sad cause Trenton is my home route. Thats where my heart is and I just wish that launched with as much care and attention to detail as this did, but like you mention, I really hope this lays the foundation for future US routes. To stay on topic, I wanna add that the scenarios are also some of the best in the game in my opinion. Double duty being a stand out. I can’t express how much I’d love to see a game mode as a conductor. Seeing it on the latest survey and hearing from JD during the preview stream that it was one of the highest voted makes me very happy. Can’t wait to see where things go next with TSW and this route is so far shaping up to be paving a less bumpy road there.
Game crashed twice when I was doing the Timetable Service approaching Jamaica. Service: Train 5 - Babylon to Penn Station Platform: PS4 Train: M7
Please can you remove the manual destination input to set up the destination boards. It is simply not feasable, especially on console where the cursor is moved by the camera which is super sensitive. Why didnt you just opt for automatically set destination boards instead like other routes? The code is there..
So you don’t to input the number if you don’t want to. Next time try it yourself. Don’t enter anything and you will see the service number will come up automatically and so will the train PIS, hope this helps
On the fire scenario, I’ve stopped at the stopping point before the smoke and have requested dispatcher clearance like the scenario states but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?
Just wanted to say well done, had a really enjoyable run from Long Beach to Atlantic Terminal in the M9. The M9 is a really nice train to run and I only had one emergency brake application so I'm getting the hang of the safety systems. I am curious why the 5 MPH speed limits at either end of this run for quite a distance, though that's more of a real world curiosity rather than a curiosity with this DLC. I did have a passenger overhanging the platform edge at Jamaica (hovering in the air). I'm looking forward to exploring more of the services, but this one seems to have been knocked out of the park by DTG.
I’ll see if I can get an answer for you. Haven’t played this scenario myself.will late you know. One I hear something
I've only played a short M3 service so far and there seems to be a weird reflection issue on the front windscreen. It seems to reflect the sky directly in front when at that angle, it should be the back wall of the cab. I found it pretty distracting. Has anybody else noticed this? It may only affect the M3 as well
I’ve found out the issue. I needed to have objective markers turned on in the settings. Without that setting, holding down B on my controller wasn’t fulfilling the objective. I needed to actually press the dispatcher button in cab. *duh moment on my part lol
[Disregard, the thing about the livery, I've resolved the issue] Has anyone else been experiencing this issue with the M9 railcars? They appear to be some sort of lesser-resolution versions of the M9's and I often find them coupled together (in married pairs) with the rest of the M9 consists. Here it is comparing a normal M9 coupled to a bugged out M9 with different colors and lower res textures. This is on PC, Steam, using build number 481. I've ran an integrity check on the files and the issue still persists. Other issues I've noted so far: - There seems to be a weird shading bug on the western-most sides of Jamaica Station. This is notable when pulling into platform 8 for instance, and the train car turns pitch black for a moment. - The M7's door closing sound seems unusually quiet. Not the door chime, but rather that motor whirr sound.
Sooooo this "bugged out" M9 is an Easter egg.... It's supposed to represent 9001 and 9002 in their Bumblebee Prototype livery.... But it clearly looks like it was created in the livery Designer though..
Huh. So curiously enough, despite never having opened livery designer on this PC, for whatever reason the game DOES say that there's 1 livery available for the NYLI M9....HOWEVER when I select the train, NO livery shows up...as if there isn't one there despite the game telling me there is one? I am not at all sure how to fix this issue, but I'll keep trying different things! Edit: Solved! Again, for some weird reason there was something from Creators Club there and I've gone ahead and removed it, despite never having even opened up Creators Club. Weird.
This is a simulator. Would be highly disappointing to not have such routes because players dont want to spend even 2 hours of learning the safety systems. This is the fun and immersive part, especially without hud. I think on the busiest new york commuter network it can be expected to have a certain stress factor. . If this is too much for you i recommend arosa or west somerset. Plenty to enjoy at lower speed. I see a certain pattern here and in real life too, which is highly concerning. People are not willing to learn something or spend time to go through difficult systems anymore and master them. Instead they excpect the entire enviroment to bend and lower the bar down to their unskilled comfort zone. (That isnt related to the quote of mp600), just my perspective.
