this is the most recent update/patch that has been posted, I have not seen any other statements in reference to TSW3 be it support or updates. It would seem this is it.
Game Update - Train Sim World 3 Update Notes - March 12th | Dovetail Games Forums
And this one scenario is just one that really needs a bit of much-needed TLC [TSW3] Q249 Autorack Baltimore - Connellsville it was a pain getting this loco combination C40 8W YN2 x2 to be able to complete it and with snow, even two Dash 8s were not getting up the mountain.

Well, I've finally gotten around to watching a certain (unnamed) youtube stream so see if you can guess which one it was:
*note* actual names have been changed to protect their identities.

Mildred: So, George, what can you tell us about new route number one

George: Well, erm, it's, erm an interesting........

Mildred: [interrupting] So I can confirm that George finds it interesting and I'm pleased to say that you can preorder it now on [insert platform] at [insert local currency]..anything else you want to add, George?

George: Erm, yes, it has, erm, mountains and stuff and, erm twisty and straight bits as well....

Mildred: [interrupting] so just to add, George says it has twisty and straight bits with mountains and I think I can confirm that it's available to preorder now on [insert platform] at [insert local currency]. Anything else you'd like to add, George?

George: Yes, it's erm, a fun route full of fun and interesting things....

Mildred: [interrupting] so there you have it, a fun route full of fun and interesting things which I think I'm right in saying is available for preorder now on [insert platform] at [insert local currency]. Anyhows, we've only got 3 hours to fit in me repeating the same stuff over and over so quickly moving onto route 2. What can you tell us about this one, George?

George: Yes, we're, erm, particularly, erm, excited about this one.....

Mildred: [interrupting] Well there you have it, a particularly exciting route that I believe will be available to preorder soon on [insert platform] at [insert currency]. What more can you tell us, George?

George: Well, this one was, erm, built from the ground up and, erm, has interesting tracks and stuff.....

Mildred: [interrupting] so, am I right in saying that this was built from the ground up with interesting tracks and stuff? If so then all the more reason to preorder it soon on [insert platform] at [insert local currency]. Any final thoughts, George, before moving onto the 10 minute q&a that we've managed so shoe-horn in at the end of a very long stream?

George: Erm, only to say that it's,erm, fun and erm more fun.

Mildred: So there you have it. Two fun, exciting, interesting addons full of twisty straight stuff that's funner than fun and I believe are both available to preorder on [insert platform] at [insert local currency]. Right, onto the questions:

Stares at the monitor looking to cherry pick the easy to answer, non-controversial suff:
Mildred: Ah, we have a great question from 'TSWsuper-mega-fan'. "Do the trains have horns?". Yes they do. George may attempt (but fail miserably) to interrupt me but I think I'm correct in saying that one goes 'meep-meep' and the other 'honk-honk' and both are available within two great, twisty, bendy, interesting and more fun routes which are available to preorder now or soon on [insert platform] at insert local currency]. Unfortunately, that's all we have time for, so all that's left to say is that anyone wanting to preorder either of the up-and-coming fun, exciting and more fun routes should visit our forums for full details on how to do so. Thanks for watching.

Well, if nothing else it was better than watching an Aerosoft product preview stream:)

You and @SD40Australia give off the same kind of energy so I’m sure you’re the same person. An alternate account (which is against the forum rules) to agree with yourself on your main account. Yet lack the ability to take criticism, argue with anyone who disagrees with you, and sling insults at those who say something you don’t like. And all of this from someone who claims to be a “professional train driver.” More like a 12 year old that’s a professional train driver on a simulator at home.

They are not the same person. One was a parody of the other. Please don't accuse someone who has deleted his account (your tag failed), and has another older sleeping one, of something they cannot respond to.

    Ok.. anyway

Also didn’t know he deleted his account. Not shedding any tears, though. A lot of drama on this forum was a direct result of his postings so no loss there.

Simply NOT true. I have had enough of people comparing me to that often quarrelsome and argumentative " Australia" chap who is no longer with us.

Is it because my user name is vaguely similar to his?

Perhaps I should change my handle to something like "George", "Mildred" or most appropriate of all "TSWsuper-mega-fan"
    :)

Wow, I was running the F7A into Victorville and after reloading from a Save later, the bell was going on the rear loco (I had never touched the bell); the throttle didn't work, the brakes were locked, and it came to a standstill 14 miles out from Victorville. The "I'm Stuck" button did work* - but maybe this stuff will get sorted in TSW5 ?

*edit: The I'm Stuck button apparently returned power to the loco, but throttle is still out of commission - coasting UPwards 0.5% !

Don't load from a save. Save game issues have been going on for a long time. Some issues were fixed but there are still loco specific issues like with the f7 where your engines shut down when loading from a save

Man all I’ll say is that as much as I have my faults with TSW it’s a much more bang for buck version of some of the exuberant fluff on TSC….

There's likely nothing new to add for now, probably awaiting the roadmap next week. I for example have been only playing on WSR since I the last time I posted in this thread (and since the upgrade to TSW4), and my last posts were related to WSR and steam locos.

To be honest, for me, the ire towards the series of threads is more because the first two were understandable, but after the EMU one, it just turned into people throwing their toys out of the pram because what they wanted to happen, wasn't happening (and the subscription one was people jumping a starter's gun that hadn't even been loaded yet). I know a good amount of people that have ceased taking such threads seriously simply due to it becoming overused and unfunny. The hate towards EMUs annoys me particularly cos the last few EMU's we've had have honestly been among my favourites added to the game (the M9, overhauled M7, the 710, the Allegra etc), and it kinda makes me feel a bit bad for liking every type of traction.

Nobody hates EMUs or certainly many of us don't. What is frustrating is that it's pretty much the DTG staple now. That is the issue.

It definitely didn't warrant an enough is enough thread. Given the prior two were for, respectively, a sequel no-one asked for with a pretty compelling route locked behind it (BPO) and one of the third parties pushing their luck for too long, I don't think the nature of recent depicted traction warranted one, particularly given that by that logic, the gulf in DMUs between the BR Class 101 and the BR 612 with Tharandter Rampe would have got one too.

I can tell you right there were absolutely people complaining about the lack of diesels. It's just that you didn't have a centralize thread where people could file those complains. Plus there's only so many threads where could be talked about without it dragging the conversation off topic, and thus result in the thread closing. Kind of hard to chat about the lack of diesels when most of the threads are on electrics, and the few times a thread would open get shuttered by mods within four pages anyways due to arguments.

Frankly if this thread got made pre-Focus I think it 100% would've gotten canned after the first time it needed mod action like the rest. But it seems to me the mods have became slightly more lax for one reason or another since the buyout in regards to fully shutting down threads.

I mean DTG are improving every release not much to complain about. I certainly don't mind the ‘one handle emu’ epidemic

Not much to be done about one handle trains if modern routes are being modelled. It's the new standard. Some more early diesel era routes might be good in the fullness of time.

Definitely up for more diesels, and I’m so looking forward to the BR218, what a beast. Not against modern stuff but where are the modern UK diesels? 56, 57, 59, 60, 67, 68, 69, 70 all absent from the game. Every new UK route we get yet another EWS 66.

I think some (if not most) of that is due to general apathy towards DTG's products. Check the reviews numbers for TSW4 routes:

    reviews-numbers.png

A definite downward trend. As a reminder, in TSW3 days, good routes would easily break 100 reviews, and even bad ones would get 80-90. Today, these numbers have been cut severely. And before you think "recent ones get less because people are still buying," no. The numbers basically stop moving after a few days, at most a week.

It is generally accepted that a review means about 25 copies bought, a number which falls to about 16 for simulators. So DTG may be seiing as little as few hundreds of copies of some DLCs on Steam. No wonder people have stopped expressing dissatisfaction with products. They have simply stopped buying. The constant "hit-or-miss" nature of releases has finally caused most people to simply check out of the franchise altogether.

It certainly helped to stop me posting critical reviews.Bought nothing between Glossop and LIRR, had nothing to find fault with.

Review numbers cannot be a straight comparison though as every time TSW gets its annual metamorphosis into a new paid version, reviews for existing DLC get nuked off Steam.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to have a thread to talk about it, because that would just be flat out unfair. It's more that the idea that it was felt worthy to give it the hyperbolic ENOUGH IS ENOUGH moniker, if we're stooping to newspaper headline levels of branding major issues. And it didn't help that a good chunk of the words I was seeing used to describe them was 'one handled plastic toys'.

If the thread is only about the thread, it will die (as I post another in the thread about the thread). But we are approaching the summer blackout and then the announcement of the next iteration so the thread - is not dead

The same. And I haven't been back to Glossop since my first couple of runs.

The absence of diesel, steam and freight has cooled me on the game in the last year.

And I see nothing in the current roadmap to entice me to buy anything else in 2024.

Got to admit after cancelling purchase of LIRR 2, been finding myself back in Run 8 and more especially since adding my remaining States ATS, the last few evenings. Haven't touched TSW in over a week.

And yes not really much on the roadmap, seems anything good probably now being kept under wraps for the big late summer morph into TSW5 or (maybe) TSW4 upgrade plus content pack. DB 218 presents a bit of interest but the Class 104 seems to have slipped back indefinitely along with the UW Japanese route.

They don't. When new versions of TS release, each DLC is released again as a separate version. Previous versions remain visible and available to buy, and their reviews are not removed.

I think you hold two points here, one I agree and one kind of disagree with.

As SeventeenF illustrated there is a relation to sales to reviews to every product, completely independent of the previous versions and the annual metamorphosis to a new iteration.

However, I completely agree to your point of vanishing old reviews (and this done pretty intentionally by DTG).

Yes, but the problem is new costumers (and I would say even very few old and experienced ones) look for the reviews on the listed DLCs for previous TSW versions. And in my opinion this brings even a bigger issue as sideffect although DTG thinks they're smart doing this.

Dovetail Games thinks they profit from this strategy to vanish the old and sometimes negative reviews to the projects. However, and this is at least my perception and opinion, nothing better explanatory for a DLC to have negative reviews - which also can highlight positive things - than no reviews at all. The latter is the case to many "new" TSW4 DLC versions.

If I want to buy a DLC, it's 100 times better if I exactly know what its disadvantages and advantages are, and then I - as the one building my own opinion - can judge thoroughly about whether or not I want to purchase it. However, if I see no reviews or comments to a product, it makes me feel, why does this DLC or product have no reviews? Did anyone purchased it even? Or is this fake?

Important that you need imagine a potential new costumer to the franchise, who don't know anything about Train Sim World or Dovetail Games. And if a product has no reviews attached, it's very likely that it gives concerns to the potential buyer why this is the case.

That's also the reason why something like the Amazon Vine program (in whom I was participant for a year) does exist and Amazon allowed us to write negative reviews as well (at least for the most part but that's another story).

Unfortunately, DTG didn't got that problematic well enough and this also can be a reason why the sales of just the same DLC, but in the TSW4 version with no reviews attached, might sell a bit worse than the version to its TSW3 counterpart.

I, as an experienced one of that circumstance, know where I need to look for if I want to have some honest (and at all) reviews. But many new costumers do not know that, and having reviews on a place they don't know to look for/know that it does exist equals having no reviews to build your own opinion, which is bad for TSW and Dovetail.

    Successful - maybe.
    Historic - very doubtful!

Unless you read it in the context it's using old historical railways. As opposed to kids in generations to come being taught about the greatest video game of all times.
