Last roadmaps were quite disappointing in regard to new routes on the long distance. The 6 months+ category has been dropped completely since a while.

I expect the BR 218 in May which I'm quite interested about but what can we expect for Train Sim World in the next few months routewise?

We got the Tadami-Line, the Just Trains route coming out somewhen from third parties. San Bernadino along the lines from DTG. However, what else can we expect from DTG to come from except Bernadino line?
    No other routes in vision.

A half year after the christmas teasers, bring us some new stuff to talk about and hope for in the May Roadmap on 9th of May.

The view on the roadmaps of last months (and I emphasize on routewise) is so boring that it makes me sleepy.

I really hope we get something exciting at Thursday. I don't want to wait until September or October until we get new routes and I also won't wait another complete month to get the chance to hear something interesting.

We also have the chance of perhaps finally hearing of the silenced community projects officially coming to TSW ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really hope so and even expected it for the March or April Roadmap. If not finally something new is officially announced at least now, I'm beginning to lose faith that DTG is really cooperating with them.

I thought so too once but despite the quite big announcement and information of the BR 101 in the last roadmap, it was set up to be just in the 4 to 6 months category in the April Roadmap.

So unfortunately its rather unlikely that it will come in May or even June.

Thats what i expect also! Its nearly June so it will release in this summer so there isnt a small window anymore to tease both products. The point is that DTG will shutdown from July i guess for a few weeks.

I think later is not possible due to the summer brake... What we have seen earlier with the class 465 that was showed at the same time frame that it has released in June/July

Without mentioning what shall NOT be named the lack of new stuff from DTG I find interesting, the next big route from them uses 2 existing trains and the Class 380 is for a route that at this time has no planned upgrades to go along with it. I hope the unnamed UK route has something actually brand new and is not just another version of a train we’ve already got unless they make more use of the Class 380.

That being said I doubt anything new is being added this month.

I hope that it'll release sooner. One thing which concerns me is why they announced the BR 101 so much and gave so many information despite being not about to be released when looking at the roadmap.

Is DTG fooling us a bit here and the BR 101 comes sooner then the roadmap states?

Is this the San Bernardino Line?

And yes, hoping the new UK route uses some new trains. Kings Cross to Peterborough with a 91 (and ideally a continue into the next section option) or Newcastle to York with a voyager would be great. Both of these options include a terminus too.

Unless they have a rabbit in the hat I can't see there is much to proclaim. As I just said in the E is E thread, any "big" new releases are likely now earmarked for whatever they do with the annual late summer/early autumn update.

Maybe some news on the 218 and Class 104 DMU, though I'm losing faith with regard to the latter. Got a feeling it may have stalled or is a long way off,

What I'd *like* to see in the roadmap...(!)
They have rethought their stance on steam traction and have assigned dev time to fix the existing core issues and fleet, with another UK steam route in development.

A UK route has been chosen for a LIRR style extension and new traction unit.
    Maybe a German route too.

A BR classic diesel or electric route is in development.

Core changes have been made to further improve the save game and add extra slots.

I'm afraid it is so, as well. But that really would be quite bad at this moment of time and such a debated release such as TSW4, wouldn't it?

How was the summer break in the other years? Is it really true that there didn't came much in about 3 to 4 months?

Also with an eye on the amount of third party projects this year with TSW4 coming from the Editor and not being announced on the roadmaps yet, is it doable and legit to them as well as the costumers to keep them muted and let silence remain (best theme song "enjoy the silence")?

The releases of the BR 218 and BR 101 do open up speculations for a new german route/extension/remaster, too.

Speaking about the BR 218, the April roadmap article says it will layer into Hamburg-Lübeck and Maintalbahn. Do we might see some upgrade-y things happen on one of these?

And about the BR 101, TSG didn't stated where it will layer into. Screenshots seem to proof a layer to Salzburg-Rosenheim, but where could it be used else? LFR unfortunately didn't match the era, although the BR 101 and IC cab car formation is used there today in real life.

Can we maybe expect a new german route to be released, where the BR 101 directly layers into?

Since I created this intentionally to be a speculation thread, why not just dream a bit?

They wouldn’t put something like that on the RM, it’ll be announced in a Dovetail Direct, a dedicated article too

In 2022, after the release of Spirit of Steam on 31st May, there was only one route (Island Line 2022 - 19th July) until TSW3 and its routes on 6th September.

In 2023, after the release of Peak Forest Railway on 9th May, there was only one route (Glossop Line - 27th June) until TSW4 and its routes on 26th September. (There were also the Class 700 on 11th July and Norfolk Collection on 10th August).

So going by the last 2 years, there was definitely a lull prior to the big September release, considering both the Island Line 2022 and Glossop Lines are really "half routes" coming at a lower price than a usual route.

Note - things were different in 2021 prior to the Rush Hour release, there were routes released throughout May, June and July prior to the first Rush Hour route on 19th August.

Personally, I believe the identity of the new DTG UK map will be revealed. We'd probably have some news on San Bernardino too.
Furthermore, it will be the last roadmap with two sections (0-3 and 4-6 months). If this will happen from June, then the new TSW will be released in September/October. May will be the month of addon packs: Cargo Line Vol.2 on 9th and DB BR 218 later.
Maybe in June/July we'd see the two DTG routes. I think we'll see the rest (TBC) in TSW5.
PS. I also suspect that the DTG UK map would be a filler route (like Glossop, so to speak).

I think we might get a small clue for JT’s next route. Maybe like a screenshot that isn’t too obvious. Like the Blackpool route teasers they did. Would be good as we can really start speculating what’s next from JT…..

Probably an update on the 380 and hopefully something about this mystery UK route.

I dind't believe that! The suspension update takes so much time and there is enough that is on the RM and isnt released.

The 101 Expert is officially announced so its not specified on the RM but they written in the DTG live article "this summer" and if you compare it with the same period announcement class 465 its very likely the same route that is choosen here and the 465 was released in June July

I'll give that "new suspension" half a year before it's scrapped off permanently, what a disaster of a project...

100% with you. TSW stock development is complex enough as it is, the feature is nothing that's highly requested and it won't be implemented into existing stock. It'll disappear imho.

The suspension feature is something of a white elephant anyway, in my opinion. Will it really be an improvement to gameplay?

The movement of the 142 on Blackpool almost gave me motion sickness. If it does come, I hope I can toggle it off into the wild, blue yonder.

tadami is still a while away ever since february. The distant scenery didn't really seem finished either when they showed initial screenshots. In comparison, it took over a year for jt's route to get announced and released

will the third german route be finally be revealed? and before anyone calls me crazy...
    TSW4 Roadmap Beginning.png
I know this was the first roadmap graphic from TSW4, but I've been reading all the roadmaps until now, and couldn't find any info anywhere about the 3rd german route being unlisted (only thing that comes close to unlisting is that the 6+ months section has been hidden in the recent roadmaps, though the content should still be in there technically). so what will it possibly be?

In my opinion, Tadami will still take 6 months or more to come out. It requires a lot of work to bring a new country into TSW: new assets, new models, new signals etc... Not to mention all the ingame to make it work!

I think the items in the "release date to be announced/confirmed" section will only come with tsw5 which (unfortunately) will come at the end of the year

I think it's close to what we will see. Instead of GWE I think some mention of a Clinchfield remaster someone has been working on maybe.
I doubt there is much more to mention about the tadami line, maybe next month, same for the expert 101.
Maybe as Myrion said we'll hear about the dissapeared German route and just below that the new partner with a loco pack seems to be gone too.
TSW5 won't be announced there, even if it is a thing this summer.
I'd like an official statement on the 420 though, maybe that new german route will feature it, or the 101 will. SRM is a good contender though so an unannounced german piece of stock can't hurt.
Extensions haven't been very popular with DTG. Matt said they are throwing ideas at the wall for DRA but that's all we have hurt so if there is a next extension it'll be either announced in more than 3 months or after TSW5 or some other big update this summer. I have no doubt something is planned. doubt it's TSW5 though. if it is I wish them very good luck on selling it to be good after the negativity towards it from 70% of the forum.

Well they would have to try really hard to make it more dull than the others so far in 2024. Honestly nothing has appealed to me apart from the class 104 and Skyhook's pack.

Okay i dont think so! It takes time to implement it in trains. And its not the purpose to bring this to all trains its for only the most recent trains and locos.

They would reveal the unnamed UK route, and obviously would lead to some "Enough is Enough XX" thread, especially if it is another modern A to B route with only one new EMU.
Or perhaps, it would be a 2.0 version of an older route like LIRR 2.0, with an extension and new loco.

Sorry, I don't mean to be offended. To be honest, players have the right to express themselves, so it's OK for them to create their own "Enough is Enough XX" thread. The original "Enough is Enough " thread has more than 4800 replies and it's still increasing, people are expressing what they tought and the developers may make some changes if they saw that thread. I support such threads, I just wonder if there would be more "Enough is Enough " thread in future.

Agree to this. When it doesn't come to existing rolling stock dating prior to TSW4, it's almost completely useless. And this premise also counts for all future improvements to rolling stock (like for example working passenger announcements or in Germany a working EBuLA). If the feature comes into the game, they should update older rolling stock (which is in the majority) as well. Doesn't make much sense if I get improvements to one or two future trains and all the existing ones are left in the dark.

ETS2 physics improvements count for the entire fleet and vehicles in game since the beginning. Funny enough I think SCS implemented the suspension feature in ETS2 1.48 if I recall correctly and it works for all vehicles, having a sweet slider in the settings to adjust.

Aside of that, the improvement to the core game with it is pretty questionable. I saw that one video with the ÖBB 4024 and you see the suspensions, but you need to really take care of it to notice the suspension bounces. I hope it comes with a slider to adjust the intensity (just like in ETS2). I personally had preferred the passenger announcement feature built into the game over suspension improvements.

What did you expect from a product that isnt announced or is given any details? So complaining about something that doesnt exists is for me the road to the bottom. And that enough is enough topic is not the reflection of the whole selling base at all... On this forum trolling and complaining about everything is a massive sport. Sorry but i think wait for the product reveal and than you can give a point of view ;)

Maybe it's because we have a lack of content which are not A-to-B routes coming with an EMU, which DTG clearly seems to Focus at.

Steam is one topic in the community, more DMUs another one. Speaking for myself I miss more variety in german routes and take some private operators into the game. Said it here, said it everywhere else, Germany is not only Deutsche Bahn. There are much more operators in Germany. And it's not only a livery-only thing, some operators maintain routes which DB does not, so a deal with them also would bring more variety in route content.

I don't think that he talked about TSW5, he just complained about the lack of content in TSW4 as said above. And TSW4 seems to be a product which has been quite clearly announced I think.

And I don't understand how raising criticism has something to do with trolling.

I suspect it'll be little change.

    Maybe an update on:
    A new DTG route
    Vague teaser on JT route
    Vague update on Fife circle

It could be one of those roadmaps where very little changes as they do happen. There are one or two things yet to be revealed though so they could have the beans spilled and the thing about things we don’t know about is that we don’t know about them so predicting if a ‘new French route’ or some such thing will appear is hard to do. I’m not expecting any fireworks.

Of course they could lay out the “Subscription Model” curved ball, aka light the blue touch paper and run for the hills.

I think there will be nothing new on this route map. Everything new from this point on is going to be kept under wraps until ~August when they announce TSW5 with the features that were promised for TSW4.

I think we'll maybe get a first look at the 158, or another look at the 380. Aside from that maybe a teaser for the JT route?

    Maybe DTG will announce "RoadMap2".

It is the same as the original road map but you have to pay 50p per month to watch it. ;)

As others have said I'd love something on the 104 pack but as said I fear that may have stalled indefinitely.

I'd like to hear about the new UK route but being DTG I'm not sure how much I want another EMU lol. Unless it was with a new freight loco.

A JT teaser would be good although I've finally got BPO and I'm loving it! So thats keeping me happy for now!

Wish list would be a steam apology/honesty section but lets face it thats never going to happen. DTG seem to have filters on filtering out anything with the word steam on it in hopes of if they ignore it long enough people might stop asking about it.
