That would need making two variants of each loco, one for ToDv3 and one for ToDv4. I just hope they'll eventually upgrade all old routes to ToDv4. Until then, I'm not using new stock on pre TSW3 routes. Or integrate a light intensity slider as in Run 8.
its painful because Cologne-Aachen is one of the best (german) routes especially with the new timetable coming soon but in TOD3 it looks like a 2010 game. on TOD4 it would be much more enjoyable. luckily the ICE 1 looks normal there for being a TOD4 vehicle (if you keep the highbeam off lmao)

Safest way to do so for ensuring compatibility even if that means replacing files that have not been changed. I've also decided to wait a little incase DTG push out another post-patch update like the Halloween one, which made me having to update (revert) the mod twice on the same day...

Even the new lighting is questionable. Way too bright in some cases and nights are too dark although dark nights existed since forever, but it seems much darker in the new lighting introduced in tsw3. I've played other ue4 games that don't look washed out and have good lighting.
I'll do that in another update, right now I'm glad the work is done. The reason I didn't move the camera further down is the digital speedo readout will be covered by the brake. But I'll use a secondary cam for that (no need for the upper panel view).

Mod has just been updated to ensure compatibility (GWE pak was just updated by DTG, so I've updated both HST and 166 files accordingly). For the next update, I have revisited the lovely (but always stormy) Niddertalbahn and the BR628. Its default position is too far left, leading to an off centered view through the wipers in rain, and it was a tad too low. I've adjusted that, based on this image: The speedo is in the driver's view centre

Sorry, but will just upload another update as I couldn't drive at night with the Taurus - its Reading and Clipboard lights being much too weak. Again I'm not sure how this wasn't tested. Details: Reading light changed from 650 to 30,000 intensity (dimmable), Clipboard from 0.5 to 30 Lumen. It seems they took over the old ToDv3 values from the 182. Fixed in v1.41 (picture shows 100% dimmer setting)
SBN ÖBB 1116 Engine Room lights also fixed in v1.42 That's the Taurus being TODv4 compatible now Note that to fully illuminate the Engine room down to the floor, Intensity is not enough. You'd probably have to extend the radius which could lead to light bleeding outwards (because it is an omnidirectional PointLight source without a restricting cone) - and compensate that with setting the FPS-hungry CastShadows flag to true, stopping bleeding through walls - which causes harsh non diffuse shadows though, so I'm fine with the way it is now.
Just a note, I'm working on the v1.43 update to be compatible with the fine Skyhook patch - it will be out later today. I have withdrawn the interim EMT HST gauge lights mod as it is obsolete. Remove tmMMLHSTDialsNightInterimFix.pak from your DLC folder!
Update v1.43 is now live. Remember to remove the interim gauge lights fix - see post above. I have also corrected the 158's secondman view which was way too low.
Spikee, thanks for the update. Do you know if the MML HST is right? The camera position is the same as default with your mod applied.
That would mean another mod modifying the LDN HST RVV loads on top of mine. Put an exclamation mark in front of the filename of my mod to raise the priority, you know how it works
I've tested it with no other mods. Maybe it's meant to be like that though, but it feels too high to me.
I'll check if I made a mistake. Should be 272 (the old TSW default), and right arrow changes to 282 cm Just checked, all good here. You should be able to switch between these two using the arrow key. Else there IS another mod, maybe hiding behind the "TS2-Prototype..." prefix

Feedback is always welcome - it could have been a mistake on my end. Though I can't find one. I've redownloaded my pak from tsc and compared checksums with my local version - they are the same. For testing always grab all mods and move them to a backup folder and only test the single mod in question. You may think you don't have another mod affecting the HST but you only know when you unpack and look inside each mod. There is no other logical reason than another pak containing the RVV_EMT_Class43 file if you see the default camera position.
I redownload it and it works as you described now. Perhaps I didn't drag the updated version to my DLC folder. I'm losing the plot! Sorry Spike

A note on the BRO 425 DTG's official way of fixing the lights was to remove the spotlights from the markers and taillights, instead of dimming them and adjusting the cones as I did in my fix. What this means is, the top marker is the only light source now unless you turn on the high beams. The marker lights themselves do not emit any light anymore - which makes it impossible to mod them - as they are not there anymore. All you're seeing is an emissive texture, but there's no lightsource attached. Instead of asking me for the values I had used, they just broke that one completely with the last patch. There is no know-how present at DTG it seems.
Thats a joke... I don't even understand what was wrong with the marker lights in the first place. To me it was always only the taillights which were super bright. And they could've simply been fixed by turning the emissive brightness down, right? But this is really a laughable way of fixing it...
It sounds more and more like just plain ole being lazy. do/get the low-hanging fruit, and or some are just out of graphics art school and are getting "on the job learning" with TSW__
I was really... what the hell? when taking the new RVV file and applying my values for the latest version just to find there are no L/R Marker SpotlightComponents anymore to edit... Drive the 425 in fog and you'll see that it now has a super intense "searchlight" top marker as only light source, when using normal marker light setting. The only way to make it realistic again would be to use the High Beam settings and make it to appear as normal lights. Remove the top cone and dim the inner bottom L/R light cones. But I'm not interested in fiddling around there anymore. Most players do prefer intense lights over realism, which is apparent after reading some of the feedback in here. Shame is, they are looking for solutions modders had already found - and then destroying it.
Just doing a night ride in the 425 and yeah, its pretty bad. I really appreciated the way you adjusted the headlights as they really realistically illuminated the area. Now its just super dull lighting. And again, what was wrong with the headlights before? Never noticed anything. I wouldn't be mad if they only removed the spotlights of the taillights...
Before the patch, the marker cones were rotated outwards, had a too high attenuation radius and intensity, same for the taillights. That could be fixed by tweaking these values, and with your input we've repaired that thing just to have it completely broken by DTG's "patch". To be honest, can't be bothered any more. You just can't fight their incompetence.
I set my Game in Steam to read-only, with no updates, the reason being I keep hearing more and more people talking about what is not working. And the Red light bug is back and on a route, my daughter finished International Rescue to show and assist another play on Steam. And now it has the Red light Bug. On top of that, if your mod and others keep getting broken to the point they don't work, it's going to make for a not-so-good vanilla game. Just MHO
OMG I remember, I was so used to the headlights that I just assumed they were like that from the get go xD But yeah its a mess. Will you just stop doing this mod in general? If not, do you have the possibility of looking into BRO's KaKo cabcar top marker light being illuminated while its set to taillights?
v1.51 released - added the TSG DB BR 218, better track view. Sunglare panels are now usable for low standing sun - tweaked the Class 323 cam which was still too low - added option to use the default cams on the 323 and 158 by using right arrow key, for those who prefer the laid back view
Just saw that Cathcart update is released. Should've waited a few hours - might surely need an update too for my mod as the 314's RVV has probably been adapted to TOD4. Hold the line... Glad to see you're already on it Spike! Was just about to say people in Discord are reporting the cab windows on certain trains having frosty windows again after the update, I'm assuming the 314 is the main one as it was updated to TOD4 and some of the US stuff.
