Since the demise of steam, diesel and freight, the Roadmap has become rather dull and predictable. A to B, electric toy trains running commuter bus services.
If I watch it at all, it's skimming through the recording next day.

Jasper said this in another thread recently here

The start of the week already happened, but maybe he can provide some new information in the roadmap tomorrow.

No, Those are third party projects without pre-determined deadlines.

I think we might see a deep dive into the 218 with a little dev diary and if we're lucky a release date.
Doubt we'll hear anything new about the IC Cab car as the release is still far away. But maybe a new "German route" might pop up without any details :)

I think we can get more information about DTG's Class 380 and the unknown UK route, they would release more pictures of the 380, walkthrough video or even the release date. As the unknown UK route, they may reveal what it is, among with some WIP pictures.
Hoping that DTG can give us a surprise on tomorrow's livestream.

    "Toy trains" lmao

Diesel and freight aren't abandoned at all. There has been several diesel and freight in the previous dlc's

I'll never understand the derogative 'commuter bus services' comments. Isn't that at least part of what you'd expect from a rail sim? Driving a train, stopping at stations?

Agree, but I guess those people rather would like to have longer routes with longer distance between stations and thus probably less stations.

There’s a few people on here who think we should only have 60’s & 70’s Diesel traction and anything else is worthless.

I’m expecting a pretty nothing roadmap tbh. There’s nothing on the last roadmap that would lead us to believe there’s any near releases. Even the 380 & 158 for Fife were listed in the 3/4 month category.

I hope that the dispatcher issues are finally exposed and addressed in the next roadmap. It's really such an LIRR 2, and in some cases a Preston to Blackpool killer what is otherwise are two of the best releases for TSW 4 to date

Some people also love both types! For example, I love LIRR, but I also drive in BPO. And I wouldn't disdain a new long route, set a few years ago.... You can find the right balance, if you want!

We all want a balance of different types of trains and routes, unfortunately DTG seem to be focused on one type at the moment and that’s led to some people not being able to help themselves with the snarky comments about modern stock

I would really hope for an announcement of a summer bundle or something like that. Another summer pause and then a Dovetail Direct stream with a "Hey, there´s TSW5 and 4 is now totally out" would be VERY boring I think (or at least they should finally say that every year is a new TSW iteration):(
I´m also very excited for the 218 as I recently drove on the Maintalbahn and really I really felt the inexistence of the 218 ingame. I really hope for more pictures and details! I would also like to see pictures from the 101 and how it is looking different to the actual one.
The last thing I really hope is that DTG is thinking about more Austrian content in future. We already have 3 routes which play in Austria and I would love to see more!:)

While I know it won't go down well with some, I'm hoping for the reveal of a UK electric route with new electric traction.

Hmm, maybe it's because I focus on German/Austrian trains in TSW, but I'd say we've had a pretty balanced couple of DLCs over the last few years, with lots of old(ish) traction, such as the DB 103/110/111. Looking forward to the 218, too.

I should’ve clarified, I was talking about British content as lately it’s been pretty much just modern content besides Blackpool branches. Germany/Austria has seen a lot of varied content thankfully.

Certainly wouldn't mind the tapper locos. Kind of modern but then I'm in my 50s and anything running in the 90s still seems modern to me.

I could see the 158 and possibly the 380 being moved to the 0-3 month section for a potential summer release

A good Fife Circle update from Rivet and a couple screenshots from JT on what the next route could be would be very nice. I absolutely loved the way they got people trying to guess their first route.

That we get a preview for the 218 and the Expert 101 is for no question.... And we get maybe some more information for the LA Union San Bernardino route as well

Regarding expert 101 I don't even expect anything other than more screenshots since this one is in the 4-6 months section but 218 is in the 0-3 months section so I expect an release date or just a "comming next week"

Just want to bring my opinion in.
I think/hope the 218 will release in the next 2 Weeks.
Anyways i would already be happy if the words "German Route" would appear in the 4-6 Months section.

I highly doubt that's what those people are suggesting. I think it's more of a case that they are a bit bored with more modern traction and want to vary it up a bit, which is fair enough as we all have our preferences. I wouldnt go as far to say they deem it worthless. :)

I'd personally align myself with them, although not as old as that - could be as new as a 68/88 or even a 93, or could turn back the clock to the 86/87s. Again, my personal preference. :)

but I'm saying that I expect a close release date for the 218 due to the fact that it is in the 0-3 months section of the roadmap, I never said anything about you saying anything about a release date lol

Hoping DTG Alex will be opening a questions thread for the roadmap. Anyone know what time the article should be released please? I think (?) last time it was released before the stream.

Hoping they share information re the new UK route, and the Alan Thomson project

Hoping there will be a late item on there detailing plans to remove restrictions on deleting stuck trains in Journey mode, giving the issues LIRR 2 is having.

I‘m actually hoping to hear from Rivet again- given their normal release rhythm the next ine should be a Swiss route again :D

Never going to include a lot of content in the May Roadmap as most of the stuff not released was in the 4-6 month category. Had hoped that there might have been a disclosure of the UK route and the Just Trains route but all we got was a new unknown German route to arrive later this year. Now gives me the opportunity to earn the right to get another free £25 Microsoft Gift Card to go towards my next route purchase.

The new german route in TBC could be linked to the new course of the 420. Maybe something set in the 90s (with 420s in orange-white or blue-white livery), like LR? However, both the new german route and locomotive pack are back on the roadmap. I'm happy with this.

As written in today's Road Map article, everything can be delayed, suspended, changed or cancelled.
Everything and the opposite of everything.
Wouldn't it be better to announce the additional content when they are ready for release, to avoid making a fool of itself like the DB BR 420?

Isnt it a bit weird that the german route is in the TBC category? does this mean they have everything ready but still wait till they get the licencing? Correct me if im wrong but does this mean there will be a new german operator in TSW?

I'm calling it now - the UK and DE routes are TSW5 routes. Possibly San Bernardino Line as well, but I think that is going to be the last TSW4 route from DTG.

This would be amazing! After LR, I’m super interested DB’s Popfarben era. 420s in orange and white sounds great.

This would also explain the significant delay of the 420. If they have to redo interiors (and remove the pis screen on fronts), they'll need more time. By backdating them to the 90s I mean.

I’d remain hopeful. It has been said before that a new route needs to be made for the 420 right? It seems logical to me that they stopped doing work on it (which let’s be real it should be fully complete by now) to perhaps work on the route or tweak and change some things for said route.
