Road Map Train Sim World Roadmap - May 2024

Nice to see some improvement made for Fife Circle, might buy it if it looks better. Tadami Line looks really nice !

 

Rather worrying that the 104 pack has gone from 1-3 months to TBC and no updates for two roadmaps now. I do want them to get it right though!

 

A lot of interesting items for me on this Roadmap.
Especially the Cathcart TOD4 update with a busier Glasgow Central hopefully.

Well, the prediction I made the other day were correct. Yet another dull roadmap, with nothing particularly exciting to announce, both feature and DLC wise. Everything just seems to plodding along with the suspension and other core things (which I will admit is good, but expected) and the next 3 months seems to only bring the 158 which I have any sort of interest in. I mean seriously I am still baffled that a class 380 would be chosen as a loco DLC, but there we are. Sure, Cathcart is getting the new lighting, but frankly I can't say I enjoy that route much and then Fife Circle will supposedly get these updates but we'll wait on celebrations until they come out.

A shame not to hear about the class 104, but as said above I would rather it were done correctly than rushed, and nothing on the British route which has sat in the 4-6 month section for the last couple of roadmaps or so. Surely they must be at a stage where at least the country of which it is in can have the flag next to it.

Oh well, haven't brough owt from DTG since TSW4 itself, so am very thankful Skyhook and JT exist!

 

There's always going to be players asking why not this dlc, why not that dlc. Dtg can't please everyone at the end of the day

 

I never said why not this DLC, did I? I just find it strange that a class 380 were chosen for a loco DLC.

It appears the slow decline of updates as we approach the summer release has begun

 

The 380 is looking very nice. Hopefully the sounds are on point. Fife Circle looks better from those 2 screenshots. A bit of a shame we didn’t get to see more though… Still gutted the Ballast hasn’t changed neither.

 

Really glad Cathcart is getting the upgrade to go with the 380. 380 now a day one purchase for me. Fife timetable and visual updates looking really nice too.

 

Wow 2024 is a seriously slow year for this game huh?

I'm assuming DTG have something really big in the works, because I can't remember the last time TSW news was this quiet.

 

Very early days but Fife Circle does look less mega drive graphic. Hopefully can start to share more pictures and start confirming other improvements…..I really want this route, but not until it’s to a suitable standard.

 

Nice to see the 101 being moved a little closer to release already. I previously assumed it'd come out latest in October, but now it must mean the latest it'll come is August, right? Thats super cool.

 

Nothing here for me, roll on next month and see what that brings.................

 

Sad we didn't see any about the new routes in progress from Just trains etc but is what it is..eagerly await them. Also good to see a big update coming for summer especially on ECML. Still wish the buzzer sounds are added.

But it's good for now!
And looking forward to Cathcart circle with the 380 and class 158 that's also coming to the game.

Good to see two car trains in Glasgow Central, which indicates one or both of the Fife Circle DMUs. Hopefully we'll see all 5 Scotrail units on the route, maybe Azumas too?

 

Yeah I’m a tad bit gutted about that too. Was hoping to see a screenshot. Maybe too early yet.

 

Those Tadami shots look insane! Can't wait to get my hands on the line.

 

Yet another underwhelming roadmap. Another month, another dull roadmap. I thought it being monthly was supposed to allow the roadmap to have more updates among other things, yet here we are with barely any changes.

 

Finally the 377 gangway doors fix is getting released, I'm assuming the rest of the fixes to the 377/378 that Liam done will be coming out at the same time?

The Cathcart line looks good with the TOD4 update, looking forward to playing it with the new timetable and 380. Looking forward to the Tadami line too, will be nice to drive somewhere outside of the UK/EU/US for once.

Any update on the PFR update and the 104?

 

Not surprised HIS is doing something similar to what they do in TSC. Weather or not if they actually put effort into it will be seen...

 

Well no need to watch the stream tonight as there's nothing really new for me. Good to see both the DB218 and the Expert DB101 in the 0-3 months part - Really excited for both of these. Also nice to see Cathcart Circle getting the TOD4 treatment. Less than impressed with Rivet's update on Fife Circle - my only hope is that they don't break the excellent Mod.

 

I’m always of the opinion that releases should not be rushed so in that sense, it’s good that no new content apart from what we already knew is being forced into 0-3 months just to bring in revenue. Hopefully the core update will be worthwhile.

It would have been nice to get a tease at least of what at least one of the new routes, in particular the UK 4-6 months one, are just to keep the interest up. Let’s see what the live stream brings.

 

On a positive note, glad to see progress on Tadami Line

 

Dull as ditchwater. Very little apart from the 218 to get excited about there, so interest looks like it's jumping back to TSC, Run 8 and the truck sims.

They could at least have dropped a clue as to the UK route to spice things up a bit.

However I'm starting to get concerned that the Class 104 seems to have joined several projects in "Limboware". I know Simtrack want to get it right and there's the timetable to sort out, but given it's probably templated off the 101 I might have expected things to be more advanced by now.

Interesting that Cathcart is now getting a makeover in readiness for the Class 380 even though this had previously been denied.

In fact this Roadmap has me seriously thinking it really is going to be TSW5 come late summer/early autumn and production for TSW4 is winding down.

 

The scotrail fleet is coming along. Looking forward to the 380, even if five circle will be a sale purchais for me.

Day 1 for the 218! Taking it into lindau at vorarlberg.

 

interested about the reappear of the german route. or, a new one. who knows. wondering if it will be for the new plans on the 420 or something completely different. the 218 and 101 getting close is very nice. I forgot if the simtrack loco has been teased already, if it has what's that again? I'm glad Catchcart circle is being updated to TOD4. I personally don't agree with dropping the preservation crew and confused why the 380 and TOD4 aren't said to be a full route price "update" unless only with a short branch they get a big price tag as a full route. and TOD4 and a loco addon is just loco addon price. but oh well not complaining. that route looked pretty interesting running it a few times but when it feels less deserted even better.
Tadami line and FCL updates look nice. glad those are coming along and finally an update from rivet also looking at the bernina gridlock.
HIS I don't know but I don't hear much positive from the community so we'll see about that I suppose.
I'm a bit worried about the silence of the peak forest and SKA projects. though I know the SKA dev who'se name I forgot was busy so I suppose just nothing to report yet.
The formation editor I hope gets some fixes before it's shipped to CC since the FLIRT for me keeps breaking still. Good thing the core updates are more often too. there's a lot to fix and it's good that is becoming a priority, even if that means a bit slower and few releases with more bugs.
DB 218 gets a timetable for HBL and 4 scenario's. I would've liked to know what services though and no mention of maintalbahn. has that been scrapped? looks like the 218 will be a TOD3 loco as well, seeing the screens. so bye night trips on TOD4 routes.
And well suspension yeah it's nice and probably look even more immersive when driving. but with one loco per month I doubt it'll be release ready in less than 2 years.
Good on the editor projects though. always nice to see them in the light even though the quiet projects suspected to be taken over to become a DLC still have no updates. love to see something on that as I imagine progress is being made on them.

 

Won't see 385s, not while the 314s were running

 

Quite interesting to me as far as roadmaps go. Still very excited for the 218. The Santa Fe pack sounds right up my alley if the studio can meet the quality level that some other 3rd parties struggle with. The screenshots for Tadami also look promising.

A little disappointed by the lack of news on the 104 but I’m also not truly surprised given that it was pushed back all the way into the last category.

DTG let a lot of information out at the start of the year, much of which has been released.
My guess is they are working on another three routes for a late summer / autumn release along the lines of rush hour or TSW5

Eh again DB BR 420 was pushed back again, only for an indefinite period...

 

some thoughts: yes, unfortunately 420 is gone... maybe forever (or maybe not since Maik Goltz a.k.a TSG clearly said that they have other plans for 420)
good to see that soon we will have 218 and expert 101 (can't wait to get my hands on these guys)
good to see that soon we will have 380 (with cathcart route upgrade) and 158
good to see that rivet is doing a good job of fixing and improving fife circle line
realizing that the frequency of new content has started to decrease on this roadmap, it is possible that (unfortunately) tsw5 is on the way

Best news is, that High Iron Simulations is on board now. With High Iron it can only be better with american freight in TSW.

 

The dev from the 420 work on a solution.

 

Making me sad what happened to 420... Come on DTG, make MAG ready for it.
218 may be nice, but I'm not sure if I want to play much on the old HBK. Time will show.

 

Would be nice to see Santa Fe C40, AC44, SD40 and GP38 in this pack.

 

There's also a lot of events that happened which stalled it for a while. Best thing is to be patient since it's not the end of the world

 

The Santa Fe RR Gameplay Pack sounds exciting. Plus, it's set in the 1990s with some of my favorite locomotives from one of my favorite railroads. Hopefully, we'll finally get a couple of new ATSF locomotives for Cajon Pass, as well as some really good rolling stock.

Fully agree with the 104. Between now and the time it was initially announced I thought for sure we’d have some substantial updates.

 

It is a big project for simtrack after all and they are a small team

 

DTG should let TSG finish their stuff which they planned first, instead of making them do other stuff like the Expert BR101. TSG should finish the 420 and 232 first and THEN go to other things. This is the wrong way around...

 

Will we get a layer for Edinburgh-Glasgow with the 380 DLC?

 

Tsg can make whatever they want whenever they want. Dtg aren't forcing them to. Where are you getting the idea that dtg is forcing 3rd party devs to switch projects last minute. That's the best way to break relationships
