In real life does a class 380 also substitute on Edinburgh Waverly to Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High or not? If yes spend the time table should look like alternating 380/385. Even better for the Cathcart Circle 2018-2019 pattern 380/385 peak runs 314 normal

I think they ran the line briefly before the 385s entered service, but I don't believe they operate regularly now

I think they might make runs on rare occasions, would probably be similar to the pacer on WCL

Can't believe they're not doing TOD4 for Cathcart for the 380.

Only getting on a heavy discount since as far as i can tell it'll only be useful as AI traffic (if it even gets layered anywhere).

    Really poor effort DTG.

There was a period just before/as the 385s came into use on the Edinburgh to Glasgow mainline that 380s were used sparingly but haven’t seen one since & not in the time the route is set.

However, I have seen the odd one on the Dunblane route so potentially could use them there

Even if not prototypical, it would be nice if the 380 layers on to EDI-GLA so you can properly get to 100mph, as Cathcart is a very slow route.

And London, like Scotland, has it's own independence movement...

That's very helpful at least and what they can do is put both 380/385 in Glasgow Cathcart Circle lines in order to make 2018-2019 service pattern Schedule you can see this on Scotrail Twitter feeds from that era. Speaking of Dunblane service is it a 380 or 385 these days?

Another thing about Edinburgh Glasgow services: Class 380's don't have first class seating so putting them on an Edinburgh - Glasgow would result in some unhappy passengers demanding refunds. Class 380's as mentioned did get a little action on Edinburgh Glasgow during the transition from diesel services however it was the Thameslink Class 365 smiley trains that did most of that, and here's a suggestion:

A separate transitional timetable for the Edinburgh Glasgow route which would have no Class 385's, but instead Turbostar's and the odd Desiro. We then just need a Class 365 for the game then we could have a very interesting Edinburgh Glasgow timetable where it would be mainly Class 365's with the odd Class 380, and a Class 170 so that we can get a taste of the classic diesel service since these are nice to drive.

I'm looking forward to driving the Class 380 and hope it sounds like a space ship, and that we can make the odd manual passenger announcement with the unique chime intro that these units have.

The 365s were from Great Northern not Thameslink

Not sure. Here's some stuff I found after a quick search but if you have more then it would be an interesting read. I remember being eyed up suspiciously at Waverley by a BTP officer when I was looking between the cars for the unit Class.

Trying to be careful not to turn this into Class 365 thread.

    Hi all,

See attached for Class 350/360/380 traction control:

Please understand the terminology, especially DTG folk, and visually see the waveforms induced by the inverter inside the motor. The motor does not make these sounds, it just emits the sound attributed to the control from the traction control unit (TCU).

They remind me the bus seats from 15 years ago, here where I live. They were comfortable in winter, but in summer they threatened your life, with all that synthetic fur :(.

On the Glasgow Central map which shows the trains, you can see a two-car formation so I'd imagine the 158 will have some AI services

Based on the release timeline I’d say there’s very little substantial progress to show.

Based on RealTimeTrain's data for today (I know GCC is set in 2014, but nothing has changed **too** much in that time, timetable wise), the trains, from left to right, are:

    15 - 07:35 to Gourock
14 - You can see this one sneaking in at the bottom. Forms a service to Largs.
    13 - None.
    12 - None.
11 - Today that formed a service to Neilston; three minutes before the screenshot. Assuming it's that and they've rounded it.
10 - The screenshot has two trains, 3-car and 4-car, although realistically there is a 7-car service to Prestwick (temporary replacement for Ayr). Perhaps we'll see the 380s coupling!
9 - Down as East Kilbride / Kilmarnock (this is accurate to reality) - but this clearly is 3-car. Possibly a 170 to fill in for the 156, although not prototypical.
8 - A 4-car (380) is visible here - reality shows this as a Cathcart Circle (circle) service.
    7 - That, my friends, is a Class 158.
    6 - ?
    5 - None
    4 - ?
    3 - Argyle Line
2 - Today this was an Avanti service. I assume it's either an Argyle Line service or a Cathcart one in the screenshot.
1 - This platform is exclusively InterCity - so, perhaps, you would see the daily LNER service here + the rail tour.

Obviously, the timetable will be different - it clearly is.

    But, we have:
    - 158 (for Diesel Routes)
    - Services to Ayr, Largs, Gourock, Lanark on the Argyle Line (I think), and of course, Glasgow Central (Circle), Newton, Neilston.
It's reasonable to expect Wemyss Bay and Ardrossan Harbour, too.
    - 3, 4, 6, 7(possibly) and 8 car formations in use.

That's a lot to unpack from one screenshot.

TOD4 for Cathcart was my biggest concern about this DLC.

Now that it's been confirmed, i'm quite looking forward to this!

Nope unfortunately not all services on the old timetable with the 314 were 3 car only with some of the scenarios that had 6 car services

I am glad the are updating the lighting on Cathcart, it was already a favourite route of mine, I love the 314, but it is too dark. The new busy timetable and TOD4 update, with the variety of two EMU's, means that this route is going to be up there with the best as far as I am concerned.

Totally agree! It's Gona be brilliant! Nice big bustling timetable, tod4 lighting and skies. Improved river Clyde and scenery. It's gonna be amazing! And that's without my love of the 380!:D:D:):):)

    XD lmao.
I kinda wish that was true but no. It gets boiling and really humid on the west coast in places like Glasgow, Ayrshire, Inverclyde & Dumbarton. But nothing compared to other countries like Spain and America for example. The UK just gets it more humid from what I've heard so it's less bearable. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
