Probably the route is related to simtracks german loco. Wasnt there mentioned when those teaser pics appeared, that one looked like the shape of an ice 4?

a bit of highspeed would be nice... or sth with top speeds around 140-160 and some slower sections... Hamburg Lubeck and Rosenheim Salzburg was nice in this regard, Vorarlberg as well :) ... some speed changes and some parts where faster trains can stretch their bogies :)))

From time to time, I take my 103 out and look what it's made of, have a little race at 200km/h or so.
But mostly I'm more of a slow-food fan too, taking my venerable 110 from Koblenz to Mainz, serving all the stops along the route. Or driving my trusty 628 from Bad Vilbel to Stockheim (and back!). :)

Why not a route that satisfies both tastes? Nürnberg-Bamberg comes to mind, for example.
Although I still think (hope) we'll finally get a decent diesel route as playground for the 218, 612, 628 and 642.

which is why I love travelling to Vienna by train - all three "Danube" routes (Bratislava - Marchegg - Vienna aka northern corridor, Wolfsthal - Fischamend - Vienna aka "central" corridor as I call it, and Bratislava-Petrzalka - Bruck an der Leitha - Vienna) have relatively high vmax (140-160 once the Ostbahn is done with construction stuff, there maybe even 200 at times), but also a lot of speed changes along the way

IMHO and at least based on my Zusi experiences, Obereruhrtalbahn would make a fantastic diesel main line.

Don't forget one with every new German route, there is a maximum of only one to no new train.

For the BR181 would be better Trier Luxembourg, that would be really really great!
In Luxembourg you could have as well the 628, to do the same journey to Trier. And as AI trains some TGVs waiting.

I doubt that DTG will give us a 181. As mentioned, it could only be used on a single route, and usually DTG is more... let's say, value conscious with the rolling stock they're adding.

That's why I think it's gonna be a diesel route... to squeeze some more value out of the 218. Which I'm not totally against ;)
Also, a diesel route could perhaps include some 642 layers, to convince more people to buy Maintalbahn :o

I do, too. She was a racehorse, after all. I've recently enjoyed running her on HMA (standing in for the runs of 103 245-7) and SKA (standing in for AKE rail tours). SKA is actually a really nice route for having both high-speed running and twisty slow track with the sections Köln - Düren and Langerwehe - Aachen respectively.

Agreed. I'd absolutely love a 181 but she was a very regional locomotive for the needs of the SaarLorLux area. Unlikely to make the cut in DTG's books I'm afraid.

Well Semmering has both, the slow, twisty mountain half, and the 160 kmh drag race from there to WNS.

Why? Both the Saar and Mosel routes are very scenic, of operational interest and would make worthy DLC.
But DTG being DTG, their infallible market research might lead to another short part of a trunk route, or even a branch line stub with a single train we've seen before ....

Absolutely and I'm completely in support of noir's suggestion linked above. Saarbrücken coming to TSW would be a dream for me. My comment was about the 181 in particular - a rather small series locomotive with few surviving members and no real use for further routes. I'd love to have her but I doubt DTG would tackle her unfortunately.
