I am not able to adjust the time with God Mod on TSW 4 as the boxes are grayed out.

 

Yeah, you need to fill the boxes in left to right and it will then allow you to set the time.

 

While very much appreciated, there was never an absolute time frame, as Tigert1966 stated in post 848, things get done when they get done, if you in any way felt obligated to produce asap, then I apologize because this was never the intention at all, as I have said before if I have no problem supporting the those who choose to create mods, the time spent on doing so could have been spent on doing other things, but you and many others chose to make this game better.

For that, many of us are thankful and do very much appreciate it, while we all may not completely understand the how and what to do when it comes to modding, it is people like you who took the time to learn and understand what needs to be done to make the experience better, "Real Life Has A Funny Way Of Stapping In" who knows if real life had not stepped "ironically 13 years ago" I may have learned and understood much more, a Few duckets here and there can be replaced, but "Real Life Can't Be" A bit off-topic here I am one that can't hide emotion, I bite my tongue more than ever, be with games or real life I have seen, heard, experienced enough in life I wish I had not, but it's life and we move on, I'm at the age where modding is not what I want nor do I choose to do, understand a little here and there sure, but that is it.

I want to enjoy my gaming experience for as long as I can, the modding community has done that for me as well as for us all who enjoy TSW.
But when Real Life Steps In, do what you need to, must do, or just want to.

We who choose to be here and support Modders be it here or elsewhere, and enjoy the game because of the contribution you and the modding community as a whole have chosen to take time away to do what you do. For that Thank you Besides you can't take it with you!

Does anyone have any experience using these settings (or TSW in general) on an ultrawide monitor (3840x1600)?

TSW has always been inconsistent for me as far as frame rate smoothness goes. These ini settings help so much and sometimes the game is so butter smooth it's indistinguishable from reality. I know my computer CAN do it. The issue I have is that the butter smoothness doesn't last, and I don't think that's being caused by anything in these ini settings. I actually have no idea what's causing it.

Right now everything looks great visually, and most of the time I hit my target FPS of 80. I'm just having a hard time consistently holding that FPS. I know the stutters are tough to completely eradicate, and I have a level that I can accept in any gaming experience, but I'm just trying to figure out what's causing the inconsistency in TSW. I honestly feel like Nvidia driver updates and game updates are having an effect.

I have an Alienware AW3821DW plugged into a 3080Ti. CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (3.7GHz). RAM is 16GB DDR4-2666. Motherboard is an ASUS B550M-A/AC.

My computer might be bottle necked because that monitor is a beast.
I basically plugged a 3080Ti into a midrange gaming PC I got when the market was severely screwed up. That could be my issue. I actually run the High presets for that reason.

Also worth noting is the fact that I deviate a bit from the manual and run 110% scaling for image clarity; another possible issue.

Vsync is also turned off in game because for some reason that seems to help. (G-Sync is enabled on the monitor)

Short story long, my question is for anyone with experience running TSW on an ultrawide monitor. How are you getting on, what are your specs, and do you know of any special considerations that come with running an odd resolution? If you use these ini settings, did you make any special adjustments?

I'm trying to avoid upgrading the rest of my computer if at all possible. It runs all my other games really well.

 

no experience with those higher resolutions
i prefer the PC resolutions 3440*1440 is good enough for me

all the ultra wide resolutions max out at 60hz here for my monitor i could go for 3840*2160 then

 

Thorgred So do you run TSW at a resolution that's lower than your monitor's native resolution?

 

no on my pc the pc setting is native
ultra wide is seperate setting

in nvidia screen reslutions i have on top

ultra wide settings
max resolution is 3840*2160 at 60hz
and below that pc settings the 3440*1440 is native at 144hz

its the ROG Strix XG349C monitor

Did you also set it up in the Nvidia control panel, I'm also unsure of ultra-wide monitors, and if this needs to be done.
Also, did you update the GPU drivers, maybe roll back the drives and see if it helps, have you cleared the shader cache.

 

I'm pretty sure I did the full G-Sync setup, but I'll double check.
I last cleared the shader cache several months ago. I know that can cause performance issues but I think I'm past that by now.

Rolling back the driver is an option I might look into as well.

 

Not knowing how you update your GPU drivers, unless you use all the features Nvidia also installs, this may be an option, I have been updating my GPU drivers like this for some time, and only if I must/need to or just want to.
This is the same process for uninstalling ATI/AMD GPUs, the installation of updated drivers is different it seems, seeing that I have not had ATI/AMD GPU in many years, I did a search and found this Install AMD video driver ONLY | TechPowerUp Forums how accurate this is I'm unsure. I can say that DDU is a very good tool and it's Free.

This is an interesting discussion. I have a NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 and have it set for NVidia to notify me of any updated drivers, which I usually install. Currently on driver version 551.86. I have, at this point, had no issues with video, other than the usual stuttering with a new route as the rastering is done.

Sharon E I also do my updates that same way. What processor do you use, if you don’t mind me asking. And what resolution do you play at?

What monitor do you have to run the game at that resolution?

 

I’ve seen the game doing that recently. There’s absolutely no way it’s actually running at that resolution as it would cripple even a 4090.

It seems more likely to be a bug that got introduced sometime in the Winter I think

 

I have 2 Dell 32" 4k monitors in a side by side setup. JetWash, notice that resolution is grayed out. So I really think that is not correct.

Trust me, it is. If a 3090 can’t run the game in native 4K consistently (which it certainly can’t, not even at 90% screen resolution which is actually 1944p) there’s no way a 3070 can push out a 5760x3240 resolution and drive 2 monitors at the same time. I don’t know if a monitor would even display that natively. For what it’s worth 5760x3240 is 6K UHD resolution, are 6K monitors even a thing?! I just googled it and couldn’t find one for sale. I believe iMac’s might be 5K but I can’t recall seeing a 6K one.

I’d be pretty certain the game is actually running in your native monitor resolution but incorrectly reporting it as 5760x3240. I’ve seen mine doing exactly the same thing and I keep setting it to 4K fullscreen and it keeps reverting to the settings you’ve shown. It’s nearly 100% certainly a bug. The only way to get a 4K monitor to display that resolution would be to set 3840x2160 Full Screen then set the screen percentage to 150%. By doing that you’ll see for certain that that isn’t the resolution you’re playing at as I reckon you’d barely see 20fps.

ps Here’s the same problem but a different game. I’m almost certain it is a bug but don’t think it’s actually caused by TSW. I suspect it’s an Nvidia thing but who knows?

It will either overwrite your existing GodMode save or the one you import will be ‘the’ GodMode save.

ps As per the manual make sure you have the very latest version of GodMode and have enabled DX12 in your Steam launch parameters.

And just note, going forward when a new DLC comes out so will a new version of GodMode, which when this mod is updated you must have installed for you to see that route in-game. In a nutshell, always have the very latest version of GodMode installed

 

JetWash, according to Windows Settings the native resolution for these monitors is 3840 x 2160. These are Dell S3221QS monitors.

 

Yeah, as that is 4K. Mine is the same. The monitor isn’t capable of natively displaying 6K so the only way to make it do so is set the screen percentage to 150% when it’s set to a 4K resolution. That would give a 4090 a hell of a workout and would certainly be beyond a 3070. I’d bet you’d see something like 10-20fps at most. Hope that makes sense.

Nvidia’s software has been buggy as hell recently, and their Shadowplay recording software just doesn’t work at all. I’d be fairly confident the misreporting of the resolution is being caused by a bug in the driver

Well. JetWash, as far as fps in game I average 40+ except in heavy areas like East Croydon, where it can drop to 10. What I was saying, I doubted the posted resolution in game.

That's from a DTG website that explains what all the in game settings do. Stumbled upon it while researching something else. Sharon E, JetWash: that might be way the resolution is grayed out.

That is exactly why I stopped updating my GPU drivers whenever Nvidia pushed them out and kept popping in with annoying messages that it was time to update, when I started to notice odd behavior I started researching. When I saw how much junk they install with the drivers, I went back to just installing what had to be installed, also once I started using your modded ini before you incorporated it with Godmode, it's been a while. Still, I remember you replied to a post and said to try and roll back the driver.

I took a deeper look and did a lot bit of research, our system has been running much better, with Less bloat, and the games run better, It sure seems and looks like It, in some cases, I am hitting 70 FPS with TSW4 with your modified ini & Godmode and just the Display drivers.

Anything in the NYC area, NYP to T or LIRR would do equally well.

 

It’s hard to say but I promise, the second that goes on sale I will buy it and add it. I just can’t justify full price for a TSW2 era route

Damn dude! What are your graphics settings in like say reshade, nvidia control panel, in game, and you name it? I'd give anything for mine to look as stupendous as yours.

 

No reshade and Nvidia CP is all default. That’s just my Ultra ini and Ultra in-game settings with the Sky set to ‘Very High’. Resolution is 4K with 90% screen percentage, VSYNC on.

- Added some improvements to the Ultra set only around shadows, volumetric fog, cloud height & skies
- Updated the manual to reflect a couple of changes - how to set the game for driving at night after recent GodMode update and to remove the reference to clearing the DXCache as I no longer believe this is necessary
- Finally, I have found that recently the game is running much smoother than it has been in a long time. This seemed to coincide with the last game update and the latest Nvidia drivers (552.22). I'm not sure which is responsible (maybe both?) so would strongly recommend you update your GPU drivers to the latest version
