If they are implementing the Leven branch, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was all packaged together. That’s opening in June. (Which is a bit poor for folk who bought it a month or so ago to wait) Remains to be seen if the quality is improved, I really hope it is, as really want to buy this route but depending on improvements & the 158 coming.
That's very unhelpful. Rivet can't fix things when there's people like you who say it sounds horrible just because it does without saying what specifically needs improvement. You seem to be an expert in terms of sound so how can it be improved.
They should really hire you! ‘Defender of the BS’ £75 an hour. It sounds like a hoover no roar or power to it at all
It's like saying the food sucks because it sucks without saying why it sucks. Does it not have enough salt? Is it undercooked? Is it missing an ingredient? If you don't explain in detail, the chef won't know exactly how to improve the recipe
Why should I list the problems to the chef if the chef has been told many times by most of the customers on multiple occasions? I cannot play that route with a train that sounds like a hoover in a tin can and an empty timetable. Still waiting for the timetable fixes Rivet….
Hey folks, just a reminder that we need to keep all feedback threads on topic. Post here for general discussion.
In fairness, the focus of this route is not the mentioned route. The route this DLC focuses on for the most part is passed off as finished, with a few scenic and timetable blips. Not a perfect route but at the same time not fair to call it a scam.
The focus of the route is fife circle not the short line you are showing off which means it's not relevant. It's just there as scenery which would look odd if it was missing completely
Apologies if this has been asked already, but does anyone know the location for the Mastery Reward for this route please?
Idk, there’s good stuff in this update but there’s still tons missing in the timetable ai and playable alike. Haymarket still doesn’t have any services to and from the station (static 170s added tho), the 2tph services from Edinburgh to Dunblane are still missing, Aberdeen to Edinburgh services are missing despite the 170s taking these sometimes, ai from Edinburgh to north Berwick missing, Edinburgh to tweedsbank ai missing and the PIS glitch is still alive. We’ve got some good stuff to start with, but nowhere near the complete timetable
Is Fawx timetable still working? Can't test right now, too busy unpacking files and updating my mod. It should be, though.
Tbf it took a bit to get Midland mainline up to a great standard and skyhook have whether Rivet do that with Fife circle I don't know but I think once the 158 comes the timetable will be better
It should be, there's nothing in my timetable that should be broken from the changes that have been pushed. They haven't touched signals, track or routing from what I can see.
Updated the gameplay guide with layer requirements for the new services: Fife Circle Line Gameplay Guide
l agree there are still tons missing. It was pointed out that the Station Signs on the platform far end at Burntisland say Glasgow Queen Street and they still say the same. The buildings on the platform at Aberdour were incorrect, but the real buildings on the platforms are similar to some in other parts of the route, which they could use to correct them. The extra collectable of a flower planter at Linlithgow Station is still unable to access and collect. Edinburgh Airport still needs to be more busy, but a little better. I had hoped that Rivet would have corrected these minor points, but again cannot be overly bothered. l am really surprised that there seems to be a lack of pride in Rivet’s work. Their school report wouldn’t be very good and would be an embarrassment to read.
So the Verdict seems to be slight improvement but still quite a bit more needed? Is that fair? If so, I’ll await news on if any further updates are coming with the Leven branch before I buy.
I bought it to see if it was good but its still not up to standard so I got a refund until its sorted I won't re buy
Yes, indeed. Wait for a sale. I bought it on Xbox using up a Gift card, but will not be adding it to my steam collection until it’s at least 60% off. Some of it is good like the Forth Bridge, but a lot is like the other Rivet routes well below the standard set by other developers. I just wish l could praise a Rivet route, but after the awful WCL, they are not really improving. They have a long way to go to reach the standards set in the Just Trains Blackpool Branches.
Finally I see that the issues I (and other people I guess) reported are being fixed. Tomorrow I’ll have fun!
Thats exactly the reason im not buying it!!! They can update what they want, at the end it seems still lacklustre, and many who spent their cash put a lot of effort into the detailed feedback of which points need to be adressed. Even now Rivet goes with the bare minimum after the huge s.hitstorm on literally every platform in every forum. Thats unfortunately the reality "lack of pride and passion". Just give me the money and eat what you get.... No Rivet, you screwed up BIG time. This is nod "solved" by a hash rush fix pretender to calm everybody down. Literally everybody recommend to polish fife circle and delay the release, and you just didnt get a damn..Im done buying your content forever. End of story.
Well we have the May update which has been an improvement giving us more services and fixing the Xbox bridge issue. Now we just need DTG, Rivet, Skyhook and any other 3rd party devs to get together and fix the Rentaghost express issue because I could have sworn this game was called Train Sim World and NOT Empty Stock Move sim!
Scenery wasn’t high on my list of issues, the timetable was. To see a major improvement already is fantastic. I imagine will see the rest of the services - missing Dundee/Perth/Kirkcaldy with the Class 158 or Leven update.
The timetable improvements are good imo. Coming across a lot more AI traffic out and about and the other improvements here and there are nice. Looking forward to the 158 and Levenmouth branch.
l am with you meridan#2659. A huge update by Rivet across most of their products which is an admission that these products were substandard in the first place. I haven’t noticed any improvements to the errors in the scenery though. Hope Rivet are working on that, but really doubt it. If a route is worth producing it worth doing it well, something Rivet should take on board. Sorry Jasper_Rivet, hope Rivet stick to doing locomotives in future, because I feel they are better at that.
There seems to be something wrong now with the running sound of the class 170. You can quietly hear them when accelerating or braking but the only sound now when coasting is that of the engine idling.
Well, whatever the thoughts are in previous messanges, I see a lot of issues fixed, that I and other people reported. The new voice announcements in train surprised me, but as far as I've tried, it works. The sound of the Scotrail Express Class 385 is much better now, so I guess that goes for Fife Circle. The Class 170 is allright with me and the tunnel sound is fixed, I had great fun driving a new timetable slot and I can't wait to try The Flying Scotsman up and down the hills. Yes, i have the Fife mod and the landscape may be better and you can drive the HST and the 801 in diesel mode. But no voice announcements, yet. I don't really like mods, because the risk for crashing the game increases and I have a low end computer. So far, so good.
The p a announcement sometimes works Sometimes does not work On the class 170 Apart from that, the update is really, really good.Keep it up
What are Rivet paying you? Update was awful. The condition it is in is Awful. We all got conned out of our money. I knew what I was buying into but It is pathetic that they haven't been too bothered.
If you knew what you were buying into them how have you been conned? You made the decision to purchase the route knowing it wasn't up to standard.
Just remember that some people don't have the high standards that others on here demand. Some enjoy a representation of a route, while others want a like for like replica. Also, if you knew what you were buying into, then you can't say you were conned. You obviously knew Rivet's quality control was subpar, but went ahead.
I got the update on Steam. So far the announcements are there at evere station i tried. I noticed that BA had the old announcemnet voice on, in this example a tilmetable to Cowdenheath and the old bagpipe playing. I've got a different announcement voice and bell. And bagpipe and drum. Are the updates different on the consoles or Is there something on console update that went wrong? BA is not complaining on anything missing and he is a hard judge. I now found out that the Fife Circle mods changes the announcements and the bagpipe. So it's to your taste which one is the best. I can't decide for myselt. The mod version may be more realistic. It still only work on the standard 170 timetable. Not the 2024 one. They working on it, as far as I can read in the instructions. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...19-patches/i4403-fife-circle-enhancement-pack Do read the instructions if you want to use it.
Just purchased this route over the weekend whilst on sale, so here's a quick review of what I have found so far: Things I like: -Class 170 model is fabulous and it drives quite nicely too. -Forth bridge looks great, alongside distant views of the hills. -Services are of adequate length with some stopping pattern and routing variety. -Especially enjoy the coastal stretch around Burntisland. Things I don't like: -No off-map destinations on PIS screens -Seemingly no AI-only Dunblane Class 385 services (even though they are on Edinburgh to Glasgow). -Edinburgh Waverley still seems too quiet, usually just 2 to 4 trains present at a time (and I haven't seen any LNER services yet). -Some station stops dispatch on a red aspect, e.g. from Haymarket Platform 1 towards Waverley. -Horn sound in-cab the same volume regardless of whether the windows are open or not. -Engine sounds in-cab are perceivably too quiet; needs more engine thrash but more muffled than with windows open, not near silent. Things I would like to see: (Generally just making the timetable as busy as it could be using what we already have available) -If there's no plans for a Scotrail HST, I would like to see Class 170s operating Aberdeen/Inverness services (they have done so in the past and still do nowadays on occasion). -Inclusion of Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Central AI services (both for Fife Circle and Edinburgh to Glasgow) as well as Class 380 substitution on these. -Static Class 66 at Waverley representing Class 67, 73 or 92 usually parked there for sleeper duties. Questions for anyone who can answer: -Is there a hill start button shortcut for a keyboard? Lots of stations are on inclines which cause rollback as the revs build up, given it's a combined throttle/brake controller. -Do the Cowdenbeath services really run empty stock all the way to Glenrothes and back in real life? It seems a bit daft if the train could in theory continue onto another station with passengers but instead terminates at an intermediate station. There's a loop between Dunfermline Queen Margaret and Cowdenbeath, maybe they use this instead? -With the upcoming Leven branch and Class 158 DLC, will this introduce new separate timetables? Potentially there could be three timetables if so, and would much rather have as fewer timetables as is necessary, especially if they only differ to allow a different length train to substitute in. Honestly the route was not as bad as I thought it might be, so kudos to Rivet for that, although it could still be (and should ideally be) better, especially with regards to the timetable. I also hope, in time, Edinburgh to Glasgow can receive some new layers utilising the Class 170, as both routes would really complement each other nicely if kept consistent.
Since the update, I keep getting TPWS activation on a proceed at the Repeater approaching Cowdenbeath.. why a repeater has TPWS is beyond me, but this needs looking at.
Oh, that's what's happening. I'll have to go there again. Maybe I'll also send a suppport ticket to DTG and Rivet.
Just purchased as was cheap on steam , did a scenario to test and found the trainer, no interior lights, black as your hat and in the dark could not see the train from the outside camera and the camera has got a mind of its own the usual poor DLC, and the train went into the depot with passengers still on it
What scenario was this? I've done the all and didn't have this issue? The last one seems pretty common to all dlcs to be fair, I think it's a core issue
What do you mean the camera didn't behave. Record a video or post some pictures so it's easier for us
Hi rennekton#1349 , it was when I was in the cab view then click to outside instead of looking forward it always looks out to the side , and I find the camera is not able to zoom right in as looking at the wheels bravo 2 six , it was on one step to freedom , thanks for reply’s …… also when you sound the horn it stays on
