I forgot to add to my last post, the exhaust fumes on the 170 still don't exist... Minor little things... *EDIT* running sounds worked and then disappeared completely after accelerating to 80mph and then coasting... leaving only the engine idling... Jeezo!
A 158 left Glasgow Queen Street as I waited on my train yesterday and tbf there was pretty much zero smoke visible
There’s a lot of things missing in this update, and the 3 really glaring scenery errors - the tree that covers half the track, the floating graveyard and the broken tunnel entry and exits - are still present and correct. Passengers still walk off the platform in front of the train at Kinghorn, numerous platforms don’t get wet in the rain and countless other things that ought to have been fixed. A lot of it is basic stuff that should just be the ‘norm’ in this game by now. The first two particularly would have taken literally seconds to fix, if that.
It's a small booklet with a picture of a train on the front, pages of words and numbers in the middle and a "Wanted" poster for Nicola Sturgeon on the back. I'll get my coat.
They've also managed to add this little foliage based gem at the tunnel exit next to Inverkeithing. Did no-one think to just drive the route before releasing it? Entirely default game (you can tell that by the awful lighting and rain effects) to prove it's not a mod causing it....
They've advertised that the class 170 can be ran on free roam mode, yet you can't move the reverse lever with an Xbox controller (Xbox Series S console), or use some of the safety features. Any loop hole for console users, or is this something else that won't get fixed?
This isn't really to do with the route itself but I decided to try one of the Scotsman railtours last night to dip back into the route. Does Scotsman usually struggle this much on inclines around 1.3%? I know the railtour trains are fairly lengthy, and in fairness the rain had started coming down but I couldn't get Scotsman up the gradient heading towards Cowdenbeath no matter what I did with the sanders, regulator and reverser.
I drove through a tree branch yesterday saw a few floating graves and a passenger walk across the track some of the scenery needs more work there's still some buildings that look like they've come from Minecraft maybe some boats in the sea and harbour would be a nice thing to have
I had the same problem, what I did was I used the throttle on the class 47 to push Scotsman up the gradient, I was able to get to 50mph without much issue.
Another fault to add to the list... Passengers falling through bridges at stations. Gave me a heart attack when I was pulling into the station and a man fell through the bridge and directly infront of my train... thought I'd have a one under on my hands!
Anyone else not able to see the Scotsman in timetable mode on PS5 ? I downloaded the update yesterday but it doesn't appear on playable services
Does anyone else have a red block between the fences on the approach to the Forth Bridge? Looks like someone's put a huge red gym mat across the tracks. Some of the foliage is a mess, appearing through platforms like on LIRR. Apart from the addition of Cowdenbeath services, a very disappointing update.
Nahhhh, I don't see the point really. Without making this a Rivet knocking thread, Rivet know all the faults and will do next to nothing about them... I've lost hope in them as a developer. This was the nail in the coffin for me. Anyway, that'll be my last comment on the subject...
Yes I've noticed that and also the class 170 sounds are broke! complete silence when coasting. running ps5
Yes I noticed that to tbf the route still isn't in a good way I bought it to try it after the update but quickly got a refund it's not acceptable to charge £30 for a route in that condition
When I looked at the update notes I was considering finally buying the route, but if they broke the already mediocre sounds then I'm definitely gonna have to wait for another update before purchasing.
I was thinking to purchase this route, after seeing the TSW4 Fife Circle preview video on YT!. Also considering was missing lot of things of scenery and other issues, but which will being solved later. Now the update was made!. But for your comments... this route even with it, is not even really worth it! So you do not recommend it to buy it?
Yeah I was the same. I really want this route but honestly at the point now where I refuse to give more money to products that are subpar
Bloody hell, I really don't know how they do it! It really is a shame as I do want the route, but from all feedback on here it is still not worth buying yet.
I would not buy it now, especially after the update. It sort of makes this route unplayable now as the sounds on the class 170 are now broke. Just hope the Class 158 comes soon so I can use that and that red block on both sides of the forth bridge over the track, I have to apply emergency application on the bridge so i would not derail. Also trees on the track and people wondering on track at stations. I do now regret ever purchasing this route now.
Rivet mentioned performance reasons related to the airport, as the water and the bridge are loaded there.
These are all something they should have fixed ages ago as in from the start. It's absolutely all silly quite frankly!
I think at the end of the day Rivet are just not up to it are they? I actually blame DTG more then Rivet for keeping them on and allowing them to release content for TSW . The senior staff at DTG can't in all honesty be happy with Fife Circle, graphically it's still an embarrassment the bridge and water look alright though, maybe Rivet should develop "Bridge and Water Simulator" that might be more up there alley.
Did some exploration on Fife Circle yesterday, spawned on foot in timetable mode I explored the Line to Lifthitgow spawned a locomotive and drove past the block where cant go any further on foot to go in i ran against the current of traffic since you cant line a path in free roam on Fife circle.. I ran for 3 miles then i stopped de spawned the engine and explored on foot there is 2 stations with collectables walked all the way to lifthgow station which will eventually be playable part of route it had AI traffic already a few of the electric scott rail electric powered trains passed as well saw a tram like train on the commuter line to the edinburg airport .
Seems to me now its neither fish nor meat. Why they didnt just extend Edinburgh Glasgow like sesh? Another 1 Dimensional project, even executed very poor by its own...
I have made it clear that l do not rate Rivet at making routes. Making structures like the Forth Bridge and some of their locomotives are excellent, which is what they should be doing, but developering routes…NO, NO, NO. lt’s not rocket science to see what’s wrong and surely it should be clear to Rivet that they need is a top class graphic designer who is as good as those at Just Trains and DTG. Having said that their TSC routes haven’t been as bad as they are in TSW. There TSC routes are not brilliant, but they are a damn sight better than TSW. Anyone who is unsure about buying Fife Circle should wait and see what the price is in the steam June, October, November and Christmas sales. It should have at least 50% off by the New Year and you maybe able to pick it up for a song at CD keys or similar. Unfortunately l cannot see it being in an xbox sale for sometime.
Because Fife Circle is a different route altogether. The two routes only share track from Waverley to Haymarket with no direct services between them.
There isn't a direct service from Glasgow to Edinburgh that continues via the Fife Circle. SEHS worked because there was a direct service from HS1 to the Chatham Main Line. With Edinburgh-Glasgow and Fife Circle, the only connection between the two routes is the track shared between Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket.
I played on WSR and Blackpool branches yesterday you could tell the huge difference in quality compared to Fife circle which is along way from the standard of those 2 routes
l agree. Those two plus Great Western Express are my favourite routes in TSW. I would be extremely happy if they were the only routes in the game. A new train simulator game is coming to steam on May 30th Trans-Siberian Railway. It is developed by Pentacle and published by PlayWay S.A. and it will blow the best Rivet route completely out of the water. It just proves what can be done with a little effort.
I bought Fife for the impressive Firth Bridge i had watched videos on you tube about it a few years ago..i always thought that would be neat if they did this route in TSW , When it was announced i was excited for it ..I hope Rivet will continue to make improvements to the route etc ,
That game is not a simulator... it's a first-person action/shooter, with a bit of train driving in-between. I don't think it's realistic to compare that with anything from TSW tbh.
