Hey guys, I have a wide question out of interest. What is your favorite train from tsw or real life and why exactly is vehicle xy your favorite vehicle? A small example In tsw -DB BR425/422/423 In real life, I like to tend to -DB BR485 -DB BR481 DB BR480 (Picture DB BR485/Privat Picture)
UK Class 08 - I like the looks. Class 20 - I like the looks, and that the seats can be rotated. Class 37 ROG - I like the livery. Class 375 & Class 395 - they are my local trains. I prefer the old white and yellow livery to the blue and yellow livery on the 375. Crimson Jubilee Festive - I think the red livery looks good, I like the lights on it. Flying Scotsman - I like the looks. 1938 Stock. Germany BR 363 & G6 - I like shunters. BR 642 - I like the looks. USA MP15DC - looks unique. GP9RM & GP38-2 from Oakville - I like being able to change the class lights.
Class 309. Britain's first 100mph EMU. Perfect commuter trains, wonderfully comfortable ride, sadly withdrawn from their native Liverpool Street to Clacton services in 1994. The equally excellent 312s would follow just over ten years later as slam door EMUs bowed out north of the Thames.
My favourite has to be the Class 465 'Networkers' in game and in real life... But I do have a massive interest in Southern Region slamdoor EMUs (SUB, EPB, HAP, CIG, CEP, VEP, REP, to name most of the well known ones). Out of them all I do like the Class 411 CEP design most as it is completely functional looking with no aerodynamics... And I've always thought that the 'Swindon Refurb' made them look really good. The tinted hopper windows really suited them... I believe the Class 309 units were the only other EMUs to get the same hopper windows.
I seem to recall another one although don't ask me where it is. For the record, in TSW my favourite is the Azumas, in real life Class 185s.
1.Ok lol so good I'm starting to get dementia. 2.I know I don't answer many here, but I read everything and mark it with (helpful) 3.The class 185/and the Azumas the next the faster train likes
Real life, it would be a toss-up between the Mallard and a Class 91. I used to commute between Grantham and Kings Cross, and then later between Grantham and Peterborough, so spent a lot of time on 91s, 43s, and for a time the White Rose service using the Eurostars. In game, the Class 43 and the Pacer. The 43 for nostalgia reasons, and the Pacer because JT modelled it really well.
My favourite train is a tie between the Class 323 and Class 319 irl. I don’t really have an absolute favourite in TSW.
in TSW I'm in between Sharky (Vectron) and the 628 in real life I really like the Eurodual, as I only have a terrible pic of it and it's well known, I'll leave it be. As an honorable mention the ÖBB 1116 Nightjet always has a special meaning for me
in TSW For the US… ALP-46 on NYT. For Germany… either a 628 or a 101 For the UK… Fowler 4F and the 465.
in real life Rohr 1000-series trains used on the Metro in Washington DC from 1976 to 2017. I’d love to see this train in TSW Source: Oren’s Transit Page Source: Reddit They also made a fantastic sound when arriving/departing:
Favourite trains are in TSW: DB 628 and DB 110. But hope that in the near future is the DB 218, which is my favourite loco in real life.
It's my turn! In TSW my favourite train is the DB 101 (in waiting the cabcar); In real life it's the ETR 610 used in Italy with the brand Frecciargento
Favourite train in game is any train put in game, and favourite train in the real world, well, that's every train built since 1803, with BR 9F Evening Star sitting on the top, being like the one ring to rule them all.......
My favourite train is not in the game yet. Love to see a Prairie tank engine and a Manor Class like 7828 Odney Manor which is preserved at the West Somerset Railway
For TSW I always come to the same answer, the DB 406 ICE from Köln Aachen, i would also say similarly the DB 403 ICE from München aswell. fun and easy to use, little to no issues with the train from my experience. I’m not sure about an all time favourite train of all them
North America GP-38s are familiar (saw them all the time as a kid) and analog. The sounds on the Canadian ones are the most accurate from personal experience. AC4400/ES44 have great visibility and are very common irl on lines so they "fit." UK Class 20 has a nice retro feel and feels like it "fits" better in the older lines. The sounds are great too. Class 66 is growing on me. I know it's "everywhere" but that's a plus... you can play it on almost all the maps and it "fits." Euro Vectron is a new favorite. Just picked it up on the sale and it's a LOT better than the 185 it subs in for. The 110 is a close second. That old fashioned "click wheel" thing is just satisfyingly "clunky" for an old fashioned feel. I would LOVE to see that on WSR. More steam is always good =-)
GP-38 is my "go to." It's ubiquitious on US lines and it's nice and analog. Very nostalgic to me. For UK, the Class 20 is a nice little workhorse. Class 66 is okay, but the 20 is the "little engine that could." Just picked up the Vectron and that's a LOT of fun on the German routes.
Class 380 Class 801/800 Class 390 Class 91 Class 156 ScotRail Inter7City HST Class 385 (irl only. I rlly don't like the job rivet did on it) Triple Azuma! by TSW Nathan posted Aug 18, 2023 at 5:37 PM Class 385 by TSW Nathan posted Aug 7, 2022 at 5:16 PM
