So I was heading north on WCML Trent Valley & my 390 started to loose speed, I coasted into Nuneaton where I tried all manner of resets & restarts from total shutdown to swapping panto's rear to front but nothing worked, this has happed before on the approach to Carlisle & I couldn't get it going then! anyone else had this? Is it just a bug or is it just me Tbh in some ways it makes the sim more realistic as breakdowns obviously happen in reality.
Please excuse me if this comes across as a bit of a basic patronising type answer, but could you possibly have missed the sign for a Neutral Section? I know I have been caught out by that numerous times myself, with various electric units. Is there a specific Scenario you were using that I could download and try and replicate your issue?
390's that I have driven lots of miles don't seem bothered by neutral sections, line light usually goes out then comes back on & carry on as usual, well thats how it seems to work.
The only thing i drive that neutral sections botheres are 86/87's as you have to run down the tap changer then back up for power to be restored.
Its 1S78 from ATS pt 2 https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/wg-1s78-1508-london-euston-glasgow-central-full-journey/
Deffo a neutral section issue. And there's basically two versions of the 390, the original model by Ben Laws (S9BL), which was sold to DTG and then released in an updated version by RSC/DTG. (Same as his 158/159). Just zeroing throttle and reapplying should work. (Can't test right now.)
Thanks for testing, i fully expect the next time I run this service (probably tonight) it will work perfectly. The 90 & 91 being rheostat controlled are also unaffected by neutral sections, don't even have to zero the power.
I finally completed my trip to Glasgow last night & on the WCML North section my 390 failed twice, I found the only fix was to save & reload.
