I kinda still hoping someday we'll get Dash 9 GE. Give us more variation other than modern North American AC traction engines.

 

I mean, to the non hard core NA railfan, most can't tell the difference between a Dash 9 and an AC44.

 

I think we now have to start planning the annual EIE contributor reunion. First one in Wetherspoons Swindon (Savoy), so you can sit back and watch the down and outs fighting while enjoying a cheap, somewhat stale, beer and reminiscing on the finer moments of this great thread. Paul Jackson will be donating the profits from SoS to put behind the bar…

 

Really makes me wonder, how TSW is doing financially in the background. Is it still good? Is the happy crowd big enough? Was the revenue bigger years ago? We're not getting answers for this of course, but it would sure be interesting to see the numbers.

 

Well I know my personal spend is down so far as TSW is concerned. I bought LIRR2 (subsequently wished I hadn’t) but the last two Rivet routes have remained on the shelf, Maintalbahn and Semmering I haven’t bothered with. Goblin was okay but not really much replay value after a few all stations stop/start A to B trips.

The next UK route and the big summer reveal are going to have to be something really spectacular to prize any funds out of my Steam Wallet.

What an achievement! The 100 pages will probably be celebrated at DTG for “excellent community engagement” or something similar.

That's the most sarcastic comment I've seen in this Forum so far. And although this is probably meant to be a joke, the amount of interaction/traffic in the forum could theoretically really be used to show any partner/cooperate company what perfect engagement is done by the community.

Sweet, bitter sweet.

But from an unbiased point of view, this raises the question, do we hate it because we love it? Because if there were no interaction here and we didn't decide to keep this thread to 100 pages, it would say that there aren't even enough people interested to engage.

However this is not the case. People kept this thread alive (and are even still active on the forums) because they're still interested in the game and the franchise. The only problem is the company's decisions, we would like to be different.

But I guess yes, and as weird as it is, this could even be seen as an achievement for DTG.

I'm surprised that it hit 100 pages. TSW4 was a very VERY incremental update, but it did bring forth some features like the editor (which still has a ways to go) and content like the formation editor. Plenty of false advertising as well on items such as the suspension update, but there were at least some novel features introduced. It will be very interesting to see how much water is left in the well and how they can spin off and justify customers to dish out the price of a AAA game for TSW5. I just can't envision what else they can add that would warrant something like that, but we all know it's coming. That chapter of Enough is Enough might be at a minimum 150 pages.

 

Honestly, despite all the opinions, criticisms, and praise, this thread reaching over 100 pages is such an achievement.

TSW4s launch definitely wasn’t the easiest pill to swallow, it came with very mixed opinions, some thought it was a good update, some were on the fence, and some didn’t like it at all.

this will most likely be the same (IF IT WILL EVEN HAPPEN) for TSW5, depending on what is added.

for now though, i want this thread to be up, its a good thread for constructive criticism and feedback for the general game despite coming from someone who was entirely against the idea of TSW4.

so, 101 pages and counting, at the time of writing this, keep going. To infinity and beyond

Same here, Haven't bought a single thing since TSW4 came out.

 

I do wonder how TSW4 effected JT's sales of Blackpool & Ormskirk when it was released - how many people would have bought it but didn't because, if there were no other new routes they wanted, they effectively had to pay double the price. It looks so good even I'm tempted despite it not being an era or region I'm normally interested in but (and sorry to JT) I'm not giving any more support to TSW until DTG fix the significant things that are broken and fulfil the promises they made for DLC they've already had my money for, especially in relation to kettles.

Nope, but they do stop customers from walking away - and that loses them future money.

suppose for a vent. DTG still have yet to fix the god damn pantagraph rasing on the class 801.
Irl 801 have their pantagraph raised on the rear car in whatever direction they moved, yet in game the pantagraph only raises on the front car. This is only done on 800 and 802 (unsure about other classmates). So whenever they are gonna be able to fix this :/

 

I think they were targeting a fix for this in their summer core update alongside some other Azuma issues too.

 

They are planning to release a bunch of fixes to content in a summer patch. It's that time of year again where they reserve time to focus on the summer release. Unless it's game breaking, then maybe we see it getting fixed sooner, but there is a summer core update coming

 

Yes, but a lot of fixes never actually came.

 

Only thing is that for the past two years, the core summer update has been sold as a "new" version.

The bad thing is that I don't know whether this was just a joke or reality.

Nevertheless, I don't expect too much from the summer core update. My mind is rather full of how good or bad the next version could/will be.

54 Routes is Enough - I don't have any of the newer Germany/Austria ones, except for Maintalbahn. It's sad to me that UK Route and San Bernardino will be under TSW5 but - Enough. Elimination of stutter and rail shadows might change my mind.
