I would like to propose this route, as I feel it would be a welcome addition to TSW4. It would allow the driver to pass through the scenic countryside at speed or with leisure on a stopping service. Marylebone - Oxford is around 50 miles (81km) and Marylebone - Aylesbury (via High Wycombe) is around 40 miles (64km). The is also the option to have the Aylesbury branch via Amersham, where the majority of the track is shared with the Metropolitan Line.

    Stations:
    London Marylebone
    Wembley Stadium
    Sudbury & Harrow Road
    Sudbury Hill Harrow
    Northolt Park
    South Ruislip
    West Ruislip
    Denham
    Denham Golf Club
    Gerrards Cross
    Seer Green and Jordans
    Beaconsfield
    High Wycombe
    Saunderton
    Princes Risborough
    Aylesbury branch
    Monks Risborough
    Little Kimble
    Aylesbury
    Oxford branch
    Haddenham & Thame Parkway
    Bicester Village
    Islip
    Oxford Parkway
    Oxford

    Rolling stock
(I would add pictures but I do not know how haha)
    Class 165/0
The Class 165/0 runs the majority of services on this route such as Marylebone - High Wycombe, Marylebone - Aylesbury and Marylebone to Oxford. This could be modelled of the GWR Class 165/1.

    Class 168
There are various subclasses of the Class 168 you can choose from. They typically run fast services such as Marylebone - Oxford or Marylebone - Birmingham (these services would operate as far as HDM in game).

    Class 68
Chiltern also have 6 Class 68 locomotives, which operate with MkIII coaches and a DVT. The Class 68 operates between Marylebone - Birmingham.

    Scenarios
I won’t go too in depth here as I only have one idea.

A scenario where there has been an event at Wembley Stadium which requires the driver to operate shuttle services between MYB - WCX could be an option? Again I don’t have any ideas for scenario but this would be fun.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my pitch, feel free to join in with any changes, additions and opinions and let’s hope we get this line in game soon!

Just to note, it's the 166, not 165/1. Although they are similar (except for the 165/1 having either 2 or 3 carriages) in appearance at least externally, obviously the interior will be different can't be too difficult to modify the 166 (apart from it needing an update to current TSW4 standards). The Class 68 + Mark 3s is a must have for the route.

Overall great suggestion, although I think licensing is an issue; Arriva own Chiltern Railways and they don't seem to be too open.

My bad, it’s not a route I play often.

I didn’t know they were stingy with licensing that is a shame. One can dream I guess.

I do not know why this thread has barely any responses. It is a great description on a great route and I would love for it to feature in TSW4.

I would love both branches but if I was to choose one then it would be the Amersham branch as it gives more opportunity for the Metropolitan line to feature

The problem is you potentially need up to 4 new train sets to do a modern version of the line justice…
Chiltern Class 165, 168 and Class 68 plus loco hauled consist, plus the Met Line S stock.

Even if you went back to BR days you would still require a Class 115 DMU, which I doubt DTG could easily model given they were rather different from other heritage DMU’s and the A60 sets for the Met, also difficult as no longer in service.

And so far as the LAMP process is concerned, do we know what stance Chiltern have with regard to licensing?

I am unsure about the licensing but I know that it is a great route. I would rather have the Metropolitan Line which only has one stock in the modern day operation. Chiltern Railways would be a building block

I enjoy any content set in the modern day so I would be happy for any of the modern trains
