Loco introduction: The BR class 91 is an electric locomotive which is currently operated by LNER. They entered service in the late 1980s for the newly electrified east coast mainline, and currently work on the route alongside the class 800, and 801. Power and details: The class 91s are powered by 4 GEC G426AZ traction motors, which give each locomotive a total power output of 4,830kW, or 6,480hp. They have 2 seperate cabs, a regular slanted cab for high speed working, and a blunt end. Which is limited to 110mph. Although this cab is rarely used in passenger service. The top speed of the class 91 is 140mph, although is limited to 125mph due to the lack of in-cab signalling, when running as a light loco they are limited to 75mph. Class 91s are usually accompanied by a single mk4 DVT, which will allow the driver to switch ends without running the locomotive around the train. These do not run under their own power, instead taking power from the main locomotive at the rear. These also have a top speed of 140mph, although again are limited to 125mph. They normally drag BR mark 4 coaches, which are air conditioned successors to the mk3s before them. Operations: As of 2020, class 91s were replaced on services north of Leeds and York by the new class 800 and 801 units, which saw these trains limited to the southern section of the east coast mainline. Prior to this, they were the main workhorses on the east coast mainline alongside the class 43 HSTs, running to Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and more. Liveries and fleet details: The class 91s are currently in a legacy "Intercity 225" livery, which looks almost identical to their original intercity swallow liveries. Prior to 2022 they were in an ex virgin trains east coast red and white "cola can" livery. 91110 is currently in a special livery commemorating the battle of Britain memorial flight, and 91111 is currently in a "for the fallen" livery, which commemorates the lives lost during WW1. IC225 in its current "Intercity 225" livery. IC225 set in its ex virgin trains cola can red livery. Mk4 DVT 91110 "Battle of Britain memorial flight" 91111 "For the fallen (Not my photos) Extra details: The class 91 usually run in 2+9 car formations. They are to be replaced by new CAF trains, which are based on the class 397s. The class 91 is able to reach line speed of 125mph in around 5 minutes. Although it's top speed is limited at 140mph, the class 91 managed to reach a maximum of 162mph on the 17th of September 1989. The class 91 would have layers onto Cathcart circle (Cola can livery only), Edinburgh glasgow, and fife circle. (Small chance of substituting for one of the AI class 801 services.) Overall: The class 91 is probably one of the most requested locos for train sim world at the moment, and would add an extremely iconic new train to the east coast mainline, as well as help to improve variety.
It’s a good idea but the ECML would need a new timetable because they didn’t’ run at the same time so it’s unlikely because of that timetable overhaul.

the 91’s still run, not sure how you came to the conclusion they are out of time period for the timetable, the only ECML section in the game doesn’t run further north than Doncaster (even further south of where the 91’s run to)
Could be access related sounds or wanting a trip to the real one, the Acela took a while in comparison to it’s possible service opportunities for the US, similarly the ICE T a no show for Dresden, so I’m not surprised it ain’t here despite its popularity and opportunity, that’s before rising into account the number of loco dlcs possible/would make good options vs how many show up.
Would love a 91 in the game, I’d prefer it to come with its own dlc (either King’s Cross to Peterborough or Doncaster to Leeds) & then can layer in to existing ECML on the appropriate services too.
Bring it on to the game and I wonder what's there a year when you have both Class 801 & Class 91 ran together if there was to that time period
This is like the 6th or 7th suggestion I’ve seen since the release of TSW 4 and there’s probably more before then too. It’s a must have.
Modern day. Frequently see them at Leeds and there is often 1 service per day at least (usually more) from York to London.
