Is there likely to be a new German diesel route to showcase this at some point?
Something like the Obereruhrtalbahn or Ulm to Kempten?

Are the sounds loud or are they based on more silenced (aka boring) versions of the prototype?

 

If there will be a new timetable featuring all the new loco's we've had since the release of HBK

Would also love to see if it has any dostos runs per reality around that time

Release date?

 

1. When the 218 was shown the first time there was some criticsm of the exterior model. Did anything change on that in the last few months?
2. Which real life 218 was used for the sound recordings?
3. Will it add any additional layers to any other route than Hamburg Lübeck? (like Maintalbahn or Niddertalbahn)
4. Will it substitute with other freight train locos?
5. Will there be more than one livery for the 218?
6. Can we make sure the 218 can be used on free roam and formations designer from the beginning?

 

Will the br 218 locomotive have a reduction to an automatic coupler? For the ability to tow the Talent electric unit. Quote from Wiki: To connect a vehicle with a self-acting coupling and a vehicle with bumpers and a screw, an auxiliary coupling is used, otherwise also an adapter. It is a maximally lightweight coupling head with attachment to a screwdriver hook, or to another type of self-acting coupler (e.g. SA-3 for LG No. 575 units).

When will it be published?

 

Others have already raised the points, so I just repeat:
- Release date
- Routes supported (present and potentially in the pipeline)
- Livery for era V (Red Orient)

 

Will the 218 be compatible with the upcoming IC cab car?
What coaches will be supported regarding the door system? IC coaches? Dostos?

 

I Hope it will be compatible with Either Dostos or IC Cab because many InterCity lines are switching locomotives to diesel Loco for non Electrified Rail networks

My question would mainly be based around timetable options as well. Is it a new Timetable, if so, when would it be set?! How many services, what kind of services.

Also, since TSW3 I am basically not going back to older ToD routes. Simply doesnt appeal to me any more. So the next question would be if it does layer onto anything else, especially newer routes?

Last but not least, with other 3rd party locos it is very often (always?) the case that they are not available in the livery editor. Will the 218 be available to this feature? If not, will it come with different liveries (ie, like the 628 did)?

 

Where is that the case? Rivet 204 isn't available because it's so old, it would need a rebuild for the livery designer. And the FLIRT had license issues. But normally all locos are available in the LD.

In the roadmaps, they did say it's home route is hamburg lubeck and maintalbahn

Will the Engine room be accessible for Preparatory service the 218, or will the locomotive have to be started from the driver's cab?
Will there be another paint job for the N-cars and the Cab Car? e.g. Mind like from LEFTRHINE?

Have tsg improved the modeling, buffers, rail, number location and size, headlights?

 

Will Hamburg-Lübeck recieve a TOD4 upgrade like Cathcart for the 380?

 

If they don't mess up the sound mix... So a clip of the loco working hard, without commentary or music-over would be much appreciated.

Are you interested in providing diesel routes where the BR 218 can be used?
What is your opinion about diesel routes?
Will we see more diesel routes in general?
Are electrified routes like Hamburg-Lübeck preferred (by customers/DTG) where the player can use both EMUs and DMUs?

 

My most pressing questions have pretty much all been asked, but I'll sum them up quickly just for the sake of it

-Except Hamburg-Lübeck, which routes will the 218 layer into? Maintalbahn has been mentioned.
-On Hamburg-Lübeck, will there be services with 218 & n-Wagen only, or also some 218 & Dosto combinations?
-Are there plans for a vintage livery for the 218 and the corresponding cab car? So they could layer into Linke Rheinstrecke and/or Niddertalbahn (and perhaps some future vintage route ) where they are sorely missed.
-Is there a new diesel (only?) route coming up in the near or mid future, featuring the 218 as the main protagonist?

 

What's the chances of getting some UIC coaches for the 218 to haul, possibly as a railtour or excursion train?

 

Thank you Alex. As well as the 218, it would be useful to know the progress of what is being worked on and the stage its reached, together with an appropriate release date if it’s in the 0-3 month category.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is a TSW2 release? A loco that is mainly used on non upgraded routes?

 

It should come to HBK and MTB as mentioned before in the April Roadmap. Maintalbahn is a TSW4 route so it probably won't be extended/upgraded further.

But would appreciate it a lot if HBK would be upgraded and the BR 218 would layer into more of the older routes.

 

Can we run the older N-Wagen(just the coaches, not the cab-car) with the 218 properly? Like will the doors open and close correctly?

 

Well, Hamburg-Lübeck was indeed a TSW2 release. But we may also have it on Maintalbahn.
Also it seems that the loco is set up in a way, that you can use it on both TOD3 and TOD4 routes without any issues. So since loco DLCs are not requiring a base route anymore, that isn't really a problem imo.

 

The G6 still requires a base route to work. Learned that the hard way last week.

 

They pull IC trains IRL don't work in push pull - they're always at the front.

That's because they usually work ICs in multiple. ZWS/ZDS can only control one remote loco, either from a cab car or from another loco. Two locos can't be used with a cab car, but a single 218 can.

Thats not correct! They could run with the steuerwagen in lead! The problem is the locos for IC services now days are coming from DB Regio and they didn't allowed to run with the steuerwagen. And they run for longer trains in double for energie purpose to get the heating and airco running.

 

Now you mentioned it I actually think I travelled on a 6 car IC pushed by a 218 from Lubeck to Hamburg a few years back

A route like Kiel to Lubeck from Train Sim Classic would be a fitting route for the 218

 

Here comes a new question after reading the roadmap article:

Will the 3-car Dosto formation in push pull configuration also be available for Hamburg Lübeck (like in Maintalbahn)?

Or will the BR 218 only come with n-Wagen and KaKo cab car for Hamburg-Lübeck?

 

Well, the roadmap pretty much dashed my hopes of seeing the 218 in widespread use on multiple routes, or at least for Hamburg-Lübeck to get an overhaul. Let's hope that this mysterious "German route" in the 4-6 months section of the roadmap at least will be somewhat diesel-oriented for a change...
