but summer core update has arrived with uk content fixes and alex said there will be another round of fixes for us and german content
my mistake, it was alex who said that there will be another round of corrections for us and german content and yes, the update on the 3rd was part of the summer core update
Soon, dont remember the exact date but wont be long - these are all part of a "summer update" just spread across multiple actual updates. Matt.
I sure hope the Crossing Gates bug can be fixed . I’m not sure if this was ever address but specifically while on the AVL or even the Peninsula route Ive noticed there are a lot of crossings which I like , would be nice if they actually worked and could use some more volume when a train is crossing through. Being able to hear and see the crossing mechanics work would be nice especially crossings where stations stops are at . I’m not sure if in AI issue or bug but I’ve noticed if the train doesn’t cross or come close to the signal for the crossing the arms and crossing are disabled as they should but when the train starts to move the signal should be sent to the gates and the crossing should be re-activated .
Yeahh true, the ALP-46 coaches on NYT also have the AI PIS bug, however SEHS is defo a priority for me (UK route bias ofc)
Can we get german signal repeaters finally fixed across the board? I recently grabbed Rosenheim and it's silly that with two distant signals repeaters next to each other, one has correctly lit the repeater light, while the other is still broken. It's broken on all routes since like Bremen.
A few quality of life improvements on the german side: the 1116 from Semmering missed the KW-counter which was introduced with the vectron. On the preview stream it was said that the 1116 should have it, but it was missed. Can you retrofit that one? Can you make sure LD-liveries for the Semmering Bmz-Coaches as well as the SRM BR 111 spawn randomly in the timetable? Currently it's deactivated. On left rhine, there are still at least 2 level crossing which are permanently open. Can those be fixed? Various locos (like the 185.2 [don't ask which ]) have the AFB-bug. I think the MRCE 182 has it as well. Can those be eliminated? That one isn't just a quality of life improvement, but rather a fix to a crucial system that is used while driving. Various locos still don't really have a correctly working LZB. I heard the 1116 has problems. And some 146.2 locos also don't show the LZB in the cab. Thank you, DTG Matt !
Buckle up for a long one! Distant signals in Germany can have additional white light, generally this means "[aspect] on insufficient brake distance", because, in the end, repeater is also not on braking distance. H/v signalling (those with two-light aspects, no matter if the board is oval or square) Normal distant signal: Two-light aspect and a distant signal board [X]. Distant signal on insufficient braking distance: Two-light aspect, additional white light, and a distant signal board [X]. Distant signal repeater: Two-light aspect and additional white light. Ks signalling (those with single-light aspects) Normal distant signal: Single-light aspect and a distant signal board [X]. Distant signal on insufficient braking distance on permissive aspect: Single-light aspect (green light) and a distant signal board [X]. No additional light. Distant signal on insufficient braking distance on restrictive aspect: Single-light aspect (flashing green or yellow), additional white light in top left position, and a distant signal board [X]. Distant signal repeater on permissive aspect: Single-light aspect (green light). No additional light, no board. Distant signal repeater on restrictive aspect: Single-light aspect (flashing green or yellow), additional white light in bottom left position. (Slides kindly stolen from tygerways#2596.) Some time I believe around BRO/LFR, some dev messed up with the scripts (probably copied over some part of Ks scripts into the H/v scripts), and now large part of the H/v repeaters do not show the additional light either, but H/v should show them always. At this point, the scripts for various signals are so messed up, that particularly on Rosenheim (which is equipped with full signalling on both tracks), you can see one repeater working correctly just next to another that is broken. H/v repeaters at Rosenheim > Salzburg km 45,8 The right one is correct, no [X] board and additional white light, this is a repeater. The left one shows only the aspect, but no additional light nor the [X] board. Such signal does not exist. I don't know how you store the signalling scripts, but hopefully once somebody dedicates the time to track down this problem, it will be one fix location for all the routes. It sounds complicated, but if you (or at least the responsible dev) read the post three times, you should understand it. Feel free to reach out to me (and I am sure tygerways#2596 and OpenMinded will be also happy to help) if a slower explanation is needed, to get this finally corrected. Non-existing signal aspects are a big bother that ruins the immersion on most newer routes.
When do we plan on seeing the core update come out? Also what should we expect? Didn’t see much in the roadmap.
Maybe I’ve missed something but I personally haven’t seen the devs mention the AI alerters on New York - Trenton once. Is that ever going to be fixed or addressed or is it something they can’t seem to figure out how to fix? Hoping to see this finally resolved in the summer core update.
I'll check the ticket list in the morning and make sure that is on the must fix list if it isn't already (pretty sure I already bumped it there a while back, but i'll double check) Matt.
I got so confused driving a freight train a while back. had AFB on 130 or something. slowed down to 90 and as I got there I moved the AFB back. going uphill it was a bit unfourtunate having afb only at 110 and the train going into full electric braking. until I put AFB to the line speed and the braking let off slowly. slowing me down a lot. I learned to put down AFB in slow steps now as that seems to work. Another AFB bug or feature I found. as you acknowledge a PZB magnet the 1116 immediately fully brakes to that speed. that can't be good for the passengers. you also get penalised with overspeed points even though you are below the line speed. I don't know 1116's in real life but I doubt it's that bad.
I hope that the 442 from Dresden Riesa get's fixed with Rain Not showing up on Windscreens and Windows
I hope the German fixes include - 'pantoless' 442's on SKA (already confirmed by Matt) - Fix for the Trunk Service Scenario on RSN - Fix for faulty signals/pzb magnets on HMA - Fix for red light issues on HMA (especially when entering Munchen) - Fix for red light issues on SKW (especially when entering Kassel) - Fix for spawning on foot somewhere on the map iso in the train on at least 1 freight service on SKW - Fix for all Dosto cab cars. At this time several versions have issue were the 'acknowlegde' button on controller only works for Sifa, not for PZB
Matt, something regarding BRO's BR425 is also off. Well, first of all, there's been a few bugs since its release back in December '22. The ultra bright red taillights for example. But also, the city names on the sides, which was a feature worth an article on dovetail live, are gone. Now to my initial problem though; I've lately driven it on Bremen Oldenburg in free roam and for some reason after a minute or so the unit does not allow for any more traction. I can move the lever all I want, it still brakes but doesn't accelerate. The only fix I found so far is activating and deactivating the "Federspeicherbremse" (handbrake so to say). And then you get about another minute of driving time. Now, this also happened in the timetable mode for me. I'm using the new BRO timetable by raildreamstudio, did a run from Oldenburg to Bremen and then in the parking I walked over to another unit, waited a full 20 minutes (!), drove it into Bremen main station.. And wasn't able to set off again. Now I think this has definitely to do with the Federspeicherbremse, as in Free Roam I used it when I was standing still, but also this time in timetable mode I used it while waiting the 20 minutes. So I figure there's some problem within it. Oh and also, when you couple two units together, the headlights at the coupled ends don't turn off.
Will the F125 AVL Fire Display screen be fixed? None of the icons work like they do on the SD70ACe. The Metrolink cab car PTC screen needs to be fixed too.
I forgot to add this to the Roadmap Questions, but since you're around here, Matt (and of course the rest of the team as well), are there any chances that the upcoming fixes include something for the partially broken (or at least not working as intended) substitution system, as this is especially noticable in german content? I believe there isn't some single thread describing this issue, but what's happening here is since the release of TSW4 some locos don't show up in AI traffic although they should and have in previous iterations. I'm personally noticing it on DRA where all AI freight is either pulled by a MRCE 185 or a 143, although I own all other possible locos despite of the 187. This happens on other routes as well. Basically most of the time the consists use their originally intended locos which came with the DLC. There have been reports on completely missing Vectrons at Semmering on that occasion as well. But what makes this really strange is that on some routes the system seems to work as intended - BRO for example is working perfectly for me (but strangely sometimes not for others). On that occasion another substitution system that doesn't work as intended but another in german we'd say 'another construction site' is the livery substitution for CC which in sometimes don't apply at all (all coaches and the 103 on LFR for example). This also described here and there, but I think not on one single thread, but I could very well be wrong here. Could you share some insights to this? I'd really appreciate it since these two factors drive much enjoyment out of TSW for me - I get the feeling 'every trip is different' basically from this.
So I know that the team did some work on adding in the detection of passively loaded liveries that had gone away with addon manager - but I don't know if that is out yet, i'll check. That adds in things that would have been there previously and gone with addon manager. Matt.
When will the free roam cam be fixed so you can actually speed up? It doesn’t work on controller. It makes it impossible to railfan and been broken since tsw4 released.
Matt I have a question. Whenever you go on foot in NY-Trenton, and you take over a train let’s say at Metropark, for example. It won’t let you pull power on the train. Will this be fixed in the core update?
YES! When ACS-64's spawn onto the map and you jump in the cab, there is no way to insert the reverser.
have you tried to make sure the trailing loco has the brake cut-out is selected to out and the reverser handle is removed . I had this issue before until someone mentioned about this and it worked
Thank you for bringing this up. I have confirmed the issue. I have forwarded this and has been logged on Jira.
Gives this A try since I just ran into this issue and it worked for me. Also always make sure both side doors are close. even if one door remains open you won't be able to apply power. I had this happened to me when i didn't see nut one door was still open and i didn't have power. I did bugged this on Jira anyways as this should be working automatic but this is the work around until they have a fix https://www.xbox.com/play/media/bjZMEwaMGR
LZB doesnt work correctly mostly on older/regional locos like 112/146... but at least atm they are at a point where it at least releases from LZB without Zwangbremsung (previously it just didnt let you release by pressing Release when Ende was flashing)... as for 1116 - the AFB reset procedure there isnt prototypical... and as for 1116 and AFB after acknowledging a 1000Hz magnet, I believe in one of the threads it was said that IS prototypical, kind of speed control on the loco's part - same as it keeps 40 kmh even if AFB is set higher during startup/restricted programme until you release it and can go higher
I use the I’m stuck button as well to fix this problem, but every time I stop my train it dosent let me pull power. Reverser is out, brakes are cut out on the hind end.
unfortunately the I'm stuck button doesn't seem to work well either. Anyways I filed a report on it. thank you for your feedback
I'm counting on the German update. - changing the physics and operation of BR 1442 to those of BR 442, - increasing the volume in the DoSto cabin (I heard live that it is much louder there), - improved sound in BR 422, - minor improvements, such as the air conditioning button not working - lighting errors and camera position in cabins (fortunately, the latter are corrected in community patches)
