After firing up TSW4 following the most recent patch, my attention was drawn to the unbranded Class 387. Whilst I was unable to spawn it in using free-roam (only the branded version was listed), I did notice that new destinations have been added to the unit. Included are destinations for the North London Line, Goblin Line, ECML, and the C2C Line, but notably for me were a couple of destinations the Class 387 or any mainline stock would never be able to reach, these are Acton Town and Northfields on the London Underground Network's Piccadilly Line. This got me wondering if it could be a possible hint, hence the title of the thread.
I suspect the North London Line/Windrush Line, GOBLIN/Suffragette Line, and the East Coast Mainline destinations come from the GOBLIN PIS system, since the unbranded 387 runs on the ECML, with the PIS boards on Gospel Oak - Barking needing North London Line destinations to show at Gospel Oak. Similarly, the C2C destinations are for PIS boards at Barking, and must be provisional, in case they want to add a C2C line later, the door is open for layers (similar to how there is room in the Brighton Mainline timetable for Class 700 services, but it is unlikely they will ever come. As for the Piccadilly Line stock, I have nothing. I only know that when DTG were making TSW2, they were deliberating between the Piccadilly Line and the Bakerloo Line, and went for the Bakerloo Line because it was more manageable. I don't know why they would put in 2 random stations from the other side of London.
That makes sense regarding the mainline routes. Though it does heighten my curiosity about the Piccadilly Line destinations as we don't have any routes in game where 387 runs and interchanges with it, nor does any other AI train or PIS Board use those destinations.
If I recall correctly, that train is simply loading the station list from the route - which will include an awful lot of stations not *on* the route but needed (or potentially needed so added in case) to be used on PIS and set as destinations for trains. Sometimes things get added that aren't used. If you load the train on a different route, you'll probably find a different list of stations. Matt.
Interesting! All of these Piccadilly Line destinations are still very intriguing to me, though. One can dream…
Liverpool Street to Chingford (screenshot 1) would be a great addition to TSW4. Not too long a route, a new London terminal, a bit of four track line to Hackney Downs, Stansted Express services and the carriage sidings at Chingford. Sounds good to me
The North London line should have been done with the Goblin line like it was in TS. I sincerely hope DTG put this right with a dlc release to include the 378.
