Since the 218 will release first according to Alex in the stream, I now feel like a mid-late July will likely be the release window
I feel like at this rate it'll be late June. I don't think they're will be a massive gap between releases considering how much is already complete on the 380.
DTG Liam, would it be possible to get a class 380 interior image? (A.k.a passenger interior. Tho I would take another cab pic too if you've got one lol )
Nope nothing AWC owns is 7 coaches unless it would be the 807s which wouldn’t have a proper route for as they will run alongside the EHEM MUCH BETTER 390s
As said, It was just a placeholder for platform allocation, so IF an AWC unit gets added then it can just fill into the pre-allocated gaps
Wouldn't get your hopes up.. They've said that they're expecting the 218 to be the next release and there is still no news on that Seems like we will have a little while to wait unfortunately
Look, it'll be released when it's ready... A lot of you would moan if it was released and had faults... Just be patient and it'll be released when DT feel it's ready and I am sure it will be worth it. We can already see how superb it is from the screen shots... Patience my friends, things come to those who wait!
I'd expect it in around early-mid July, it was announced around the same time as the 700 last year and that released in july
All this excitement made me forget this train could still turn out subpar despite how good it looks. I don’t wanna ruin the mood but the sounds will make or break this dlc, remember the 700?
Indeed. I can put up with the arrow slit view if there's a decent AC thrash, but given the TSC version was near silent not holding out much hope.
Im sure "itsya165" is prepared for the worst case and probably ready with the recorded sound files by now . Welcome high variety of tsw for console players too. But again i have to say "glad i choose the right platform with my pc..."
Its not about one platform being better then an other one, its only about the fact i dont have to wait for DTG and their poor decision making when it comes to bug fixing or bad sounds. For casual players rather less meaningful, but if you spend 10K+ on dlcs (not just tsw), mod capability is a valid thing to consider when choosing the platform. Thats really just my own opinion, but i prefere to enjoy my hobby without tripple annoyance by excuses etc. What about fife circle, the enhancement pack was released 2 weeks after the initial route came out, and improved a massive amount of things, which rivet wasnt capable of doing until today. The frustration on the console side was very high. They paid the same price and are stuck now with a dev which isnt capable of delivering, and probably still think they did a very great job with their minimalism... Seems some people here are already scared of the 380 sounds .
I would love to know what game you have spend 10k on do enlighten us all. Also DTG didn’t fix Fife circle it was rivet.
I hope the sounds are good. *fingers crossed* I mean. For the traction motors. They can basically use the AP class 350 sounds. Though I'm hoping they've got their own recordings and it's up to scratch. Dovetail are usually alright with sounds. Though I still have a few concerns in the back of my mind after the mess that was the Class 700 and the OBB Talent
Tbh if they used the desiro whine from the 700 (as those are sourced from a 350) and the motors from the 710 with a few improvements and modifications I would be more than happy, the 710 motors are pretty similar to the 380s
Very good point. Though DTG have used AP sounds in TSW already so it's unlikely that that permission would be a problem. It would be better to get proper 380 recordings though if there are substantial differences between the 350 and 380. Even if southerners like me wouldn't notice.
I may be wrong, but for all we know DT has already got the sounds during one of their ScotRail trips. Matt mentioned DT recorded the sounds for the Class 170, and gave them to Rivett. So, whilst on the same trip they may have done a Class 380 recording. It would make sense, as ScotRail seem a pretty cooperative company.
380 and cathcart update preview on Tuesday the 2nd (next week). So a release next Thursday or the Tuesday after is quite likely!
I can't see Thursday the 4th as it's a holiday here in the US and election day in the UK. So, probably no release that day, which is a shame because i have Friday off too lol. Tuesday the 9th seems more likely. Strangely excited for this one- Cathcart never grabbed me on initial release- i really like "network" routes, but i thought it was let down by its sparse timetable and bad lighting, both of which this will address!
Would Dovetail do a stream a week before it’s release, and I cannot see why it would stop people from voting in the UK election or enjoying themselves on Independence Day in the USA , this Thursday. You never know but Dovetail could release it this Tuesday, l don’t know but l bet Alex knows!!!
If it was Tuesday I'd have expected an article by now. I'm assuming we'll get an article on Tuesday or Thursday and a release either this Thursday or next week sometime
A holiday in the USA wouldn’t stop a uk game developer release a DLC. Neither will a general election.
I'm looking forwards to this release (and the Cathcart make-over). I doubt the American holiday, nor Election Day, will halt the release. Day one purchase for me.
Most of the "election" excitement comes after 10pm when the polls close and the counting starts. Or for most people at 0700 the following morning when you switch on BBC Breakfast News to see which of the choice between a rock and a hard place has won and will be running things for the next 5 years. I don't honestly expect it to pause DTG releasing the 380. I think the main concern for them must be, in the wake of the most excellent 218 from TSG and the debacle with their previous Class 700, that people will actually be sufficiently enthused to buy it.
Indeed! I'm not sure how sales of the 380 will go in the US but the July 4th holiday is an excuse to shop over here.
No worry’s. The only thing that is shut on a general election on the uk are schools as the halls are used as the places voters go to put there vote in. Everything else basically operates as normal.
For most UK residents the General Election means they have to pop-out for 10 minutes to put a cross on a piece of paper, they go home and then find out who won the next morning. So it wouldn't affect a software release date. Only a tiny proportion of sad sods like me stay up watching the results come in all night and I may well be gaming and just listening on the radio.
Livestream Q&A thread now open for those that haven't noticed. Check the pinned thread in the TSW General Discussion forum to post your question.
I have never seen a livestream preview without an article first! Or i make an mistake. It makes no sense to do a article later the purpose to do a livestream is to dive deeper in the information
Article should be released by tomorrow morning according to James on the discord, he’s just proofreading everything now.
