Early Access Price? How long is EA projected to be given, 1. We have seen SimRail extend long after the original date it was supposed to exit. 2. Trans Siberian which seems to be taking its early access as going on for an extended period, possibly years. Are there ambitions to expand the product to include more (real) routes or even add a user editor? How much oversight do DTG have on the final quality of this product?
Hello there, most of your questions can be answered in the FAQ, make sure to give the Pic Of The Week articles a read as well, they are very in-depth and show how much care and attention to detail ViewApp are putting into CTS. To briefly answer your questions here though: The current plan for Early Access to end is by the end of 2024, do keep in mind though that this is an estimate and that this might change as new features are added and community feedback is taken into consideration. CTS will be €29,99 / £24,99 / $29,99 during Early Access. There is currently no plan to add real routes or an editor. We work very closely with ViewApp, they have full creative control and receive regular support from us. This is very much their product, but we help them to make it the best they can. Again, please make sure to read through the FAQ page and the Pic Of The Week articles, as they contain half a year's worth of information for you to explore. All the best, Jan
As a note, the price will likely go up for a full release, so buying now locks in the lower price. Look at Derail Valley, which basically doubled and is now in the TSC/TSW route price range. This also does look interesting to me. I'd be curious to see a demo but doubt that exists.
I am asking me this : The Goal of that Game or Simulation is to create a Tram-Network. Now after seeing some videos about this i am asking me after how much lines the Game would become laggy cause of AI-Trams. You have 10 End-Stations (all available on the Beginning of EA?). If you create 1 Line from every End-Station that would be 10 Lines then we go with intervall of 15min so that would be 40 Trams in 1 Hour. If you change the intervall according to the time of day you have to create even more lines. Multiplied with a 24-Hour Cycle which in the evening and night with lesser Services this could be very well 400-500 AI-Trams, not all at the same time but i think at least 10-20 at the same time. If you manage to calculate that the ai-trams are not blocking themselves all the time. Is there a Restriction how many Lines you can create? And in the beginning can you connect all the Stations? Or are there some stations not part of the network because of Early Access ? Thanks.
Besides the game looks empty and a lot of missing parts. The performance is good now but will be worse with more extras so i bed this game will never reached a good quality..... The problem is how the city is build. We have seen that in many games with freeware parts and then you see a big thinking manor with a result the game is not good enough to run with proper fps due to the large scale and to much empty places to compensate this fps problem.
Thats correct consoles will follow next year but i think its very possible that it will take a year. This Studio has made the other games also with a lot of this kind of "promising" texts and the result was its never gonna happen and takes ages more.
I hope one day we see a UK based tram route. Maybe as the game evolves, the devs can explore other countries.
Thanks for the reply didn't realise it will possibly take that long but it will be worth it hopefully
They have already written there will no real life routes in this game. Thats already confirmed and is not the purpose of this whole game. They have chosen fictional for a reason to be me more free in what they can create. In this case there is no 100% time period and the roadmap is an indication what they expect to create. Furthermore if you look to other games in the same gerne and engine this will take a lot more than expected in 99% of this games.
Fictional also gives us better freedom to build our own lines into the game, making our map truly our own. Though it could be neat to see areas outside the map that we have to eventually connect to the map to create additional services over time. We'll see if it goes that way. Could be a rewards structure that means something to be able to add them to the network.
Hey there, our plan was to originally release the game at the end of the year for all platforms. But since the game is in a playable state right now, the decision was made to release it as Early Access title on PC. This way we can gather more of your feedback, and work said feedback into the finalised product. Right now we plan to launch the game on consoles at the end of the year, once we have a precise date we will of course share it with you. Make sure to keep an eye on the announcement section of this forum and to join ViewApp's Discord server to be kept up to date by the official sources. Finally, please keep in mind that this is an Early Access title, which means it is a work in progress. You will encounter bugs and drops in performance, but ViewApp have been working very hard on identifying issues and an expansive list of fixes is already being worked on. All the best, Jan
A good reminder about the early access expectations. Steam clearly says "If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development". Early Access is a good way for players to get involved with the development, possibly having an impact on the final design in some cases (maybe not all)..
Fictional UK routes can work too. There’s a gap in the market for it. Sheffield, Manchester, Blackpool, Nottingham. Take your pick.
No thats the point! If i like the game or not is not relevant .... Little point less and way to early... My advice is to let them release this product first
That’s the point of early access you arr helping to test the game and report issues and suggestions to the developer to make it better.
Exactly thats the way how it is.... Talking about next new content is a little useless. Let them first release the full game
I don’t see how it’s pointless for them not to have new content planned for the future, as they probably have something planned in the pipe line after the game comes out of the beta stage.
dtg_jan As an aside, this forum does not appear to have the Like or Helpful click buttons enabled. Is that deliberate or have they been missed off in error?
That would be on me, I set up the forums by hand and must've missed those in the permissions list. Will look into it! Edit: ratings should now be available.
Confirmed they are here now, I didn't notice it myself as I didn't go to like anything before. LOL Though as a side note, the helpful event in the notifications needs to be...trimmed.
There is an advert announcing early access as being available now in the TSW4 flash screens on PS5. Surely that’s not supposed to appear on PS5 with it only being available on PC at present.
Hello, just wanted to jump in and offer some reasoning - although many users typically have a primary platform they use more than others, we do see a large portion of players across our titles that utilise both console and PC platforms simultaneously, so this is a way of sharing news more generally that the CTS: Tram Early Acess is now available. Although, I appreciate we probably could have made it clearer on the loading screen image that it was available only on Steam. I'll see if the teams have scope to amend it at all
