Hi dear People Did someone bought already some RSSLO routes? If yes: Did someone have a download problems? In my case I bought 2 Routes and download time is 23 Hours between even 1 day. My internet @ home is actually pretty fast. For 1.5 GB I need no more then 4-5 minutes. Ofcourse if the file is on some “normal” server. And here I suppose that RSSLO team wants to save money and upload them/his files on some “cheap” server. Thats why the download time is that long. Anyway. I think that is very very bad service. We paid money (not a small amount) and we would like to enjoy our products, but not wait 24 Hours till download is finish. So, Im curious if someone else also has that kind of problem. Cheers
Have bought a couple of routes (and trains) from them and haven't had any problems. Perhaps not the fastest server but definitely not more than a couple of minutes to download a route.
Also no problem here in South Africa to download purchased content from RSSLO. Do you perhaps use a VPN? What Browser?
actually I do not use any VPN. Thats weird. I even try on my Macbook instead of Windows and time changes to 7 Hours but thats still slow. 16kbs. My browser on windows is Chrome (23 hours waiting for downloading) and on mac at the moment I use Safari.
I like RSSLO products and have a full set, never had a problem with downloading and installing their routes, locomotives, stock or scenarios. Their support team is excellent. Don’t have Steam on while you install.
Never any problems. Sometimes the Windows Defender gives a false positive, so you might need to disable it while installing.
After hours of waiting I use browser nr 4 and then my download goes normal. This time it was browser: “Vivaldi” I bought Munich - Ingolstad and extracted Munich - Nurnberg. Great made Routes. Sometimes low FPS usually at the stations but at all really nice great routes.
As an aside to the above, looking at some of their routes in the Steam sale but seem to get mixed reviews. Can anyone offer recommendations as to the “best of the best” or maybe your personal top three?
jakobh Just Trains which is a similar install to RSSLO advise that Steam MUST be off, during installation. If you need to know why, then please contact their support team as l have never questioned this. Also if you have trouble, then l suggest to run it as administrator or try disabling your antivirus software. I hope that this helps.
Hi Yesterday I bought Munich - Ingolstadt - Nurnberg. Very nice good-made route. (I had some problems with downloading like 23 Hours waiting but once I tried the nr. 4 browsers from all browsers I have, the download time was 9 min for 1.5GB not the fastest but it's not bad at all, maybe they had some problem yesterday with the server or something). Exactly 10 minutes ago I bought a Linz - Ingolstadt extension or combine ( Linz - Passau, Passau - Regensburg, Regensburg - Ingolstadt). For me looks like RSSLO does a nice quality job. Thb I don't know which one is the very best of all that RSSLO is offering. It's up to you. On my target is also: Salzburg - Ljubljana (around 4 Hour's drive). RSSLO also has a sale on Steam at the moment.
I have a number of their routes and I think Salzburg - Rosenheim is one of their better ones https://www.rsslo.com/product/salzburg-rosenheim-route/ And another I like is is Karawankenbahn - it only comes with AI vehicles a most people already have the locos/stock https://www.rsslo.com/product/karawankenbahn-route/ This is the three country route (Austria, Slovenia, Italy) Karawankebahn created from Villach to Ljubljana and Villach to Tarvisio boscoverde, which has a total length of about 135 km.
Thanks Peter. Karawankenbahn I bought a while ago and agree it’s a lovely route. Salzburg to Rosenheim, well I’ve got the version in TSW so probably not going to duplicate back in TSC.
I'm curious "bought"? There is a version of that combined route for sale somewhere? Edit - apparently there is - Combine: Linz - Ingolstadt - RSSLO (the workshop version isn't the same, the one i thought of was me manually merging 3 steam routes which are apparently the same 3 merged above - Steam Workshop::Ingolstadt to Linz (Via Regensburg) (steamcommunity.com) )
In the end, not RSSLO but I plumped for Berlin Ringbahn. It's not got a huge discount in the sale, but lurking in my wish list for a while. Reviews indicate it's a top notch route and given I enjoy the earlier S25 route, even if I don't follow the correct door procedure (!) figured this will hit the spot.
at the moment everything from RSSLO is on sale. Just be careful with FPS. RSSLO made very nice routes but it kills my FPS. My PC its very good, but 14-16FPS on Linz station is just a hall of shame...
I've always had Steam running in the background during installs. I rarely shut it down. It's never been a problem. So I'd be curious what happens myself. Another note on that: the Steam versions are used in your merge, while they merged the payware versions on their site.
I just finished driving from Villach to Ljubljana. Very nice route (ok, the speed limit is not so mine, I prefer a bit faster routes). FPS was friendly in comparison with Linz - Ingolstadt.
I recently bought the Ostbahn route from RSSLO. I had previously made a mental note not to buy another route from them which included Vienna, because of the obvious 2d buildings. However, I couldn't resist the Ostbahn route because it takes you into Slovakia or Hungary, two countries which I don't have routes for. Unfortunately the 2d buildings in Vienna seem to be more numerous and obvious than on the Vienna to St Pölten route, which for me ruins the immersion. The rest of the route is fine, especially with the update available on Railworks Germany. I think the reason for this is the fps which is low in Vienna even with a fast PC. I might take the nuclear option and go into the editor and delete as many of the 2d buildings that I can find. After all, I've never been to Vienna so I wouldn't know the difference.
I think the low FPS in Vienna is probably more to do with the large amount of catenary and RSSLO's strange way of modelling the track ballast shoulder, which seems to be multiple small decals. Have you tried turning the viewing distance down?
I'm not really worried about the fps in Vienna as I get about 30 fps which is low to what I normally get on other routes but acceptable. The reason I want to delete the 2d buildings is because I don't like the look of them.
I disagree with RSSLO routes beeing fantastic... München-Nürnberg scenery is far from reality. Sloppy and rushed job. Same 5 houses all along the line (problem with all of the RSSLO routes). There is a freeware update for the route that swaps out for nicer 3D trees and grass, that makes things a little more appealing for the eye. I might give it a chance in this sale, just because it´s such an important ICE route. RSSLO just announced Ingolstadt-Treuchtlingen. Very scenic route, mostly for freight traffic. I hope they get this one right... the last austrain effort Knittelfeld to Klagenfurth was recieved well by the community and is supposed to be one of the better efforts.
Yes, I agree with you. I just purchased 3 of their routes in the Steam sale Karawankenbahn, Ragensburg and Passau. First off they come out rather dark on my system compared to DTG routes. In one scenario I was driving the time was 1300 and something in the summertime and the shadows were quite long as if it was near sunset. Even in the middle of the day, it was quite dark. I don't know whether they do their own locos or not but in the cabs they look quite clunky say compared to Virtual Railroads DLC. And as mentioned above the scenery isn't the best.
In the end I bought Kempten to Lindau and Immendstadt. So far looks pretty good if a bit short on scenarios and the 245 is a fairly bland modern diesel. However as I recanted my earlier refund and rebought Pegnitz and the Vr Class 218, I see myself dropping in scenario editor later and pairing the 218 up with some UIC coaches for a more traditional DB thrash across the Allgau. It’s a shame no one, AFAIK, has made the route across from Kempten to Garmisch via Reutte as that’s the real scenic gem of the area.
One of the worst efforts by them. But there is a rebuild on railsim, that transforms the whole route incase you are interested: https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/entry/4388-allgäubahn-regenerated-v1-0/
Guess that's where it's all a bit subjective but sounds like the mod is worth trying. The one route I've never bought (which I think is RSSLO) despite liking it IRL is Innsbruck to Garmisch. Gets very poor reviews on Steam.
Thanks Danny. Generally I prefer to buy through Steam and keep my eggs in one basket, so to speak. The major exception being Stainmore (which now apparently has issues following the last core update) and a couple of JT routes, Western Lines and Kyle plus their old Edinburgh to Dundee on disc!
