Surprised nobody has made one of these yet (unless i am mistaken)

    Here's a screenshot Skyhook released today. 448639595_996947572431865_2960026228392103599_n.jpg

Pretty sure most people would have seen this, but here's another shot of it on cathcart:

It looks nice. I don’t think there are too many differences between the Midland and Scottish versions besides the obvious ones like the front and interior so there’s not much else to talk about for now

Just noticed Fife circle is on offer as well just now so may be worth picking that up ready for this release.

It's mostly the interior and livery that's changed

Happy to see the 158 on quite some routes! Something we need and surely on the Scotrail routes. Cant wait to thrust this diesel with a 170 behind!

Y’know I hope this will have playable layers on Cathcart-Circle and ScotRail Express.

The 158 will have it's own services on Scotrail Express that was confirmed on the May roadmap, as for Cathcart I think it will be AI only unless they're doing depot moves

I wonder if Skyhook will release the 158 with 'full circle' services like there had been in the pre Covid timetable. Rivet being as useless as a chocolate teapot never bothered adding or implementing such an obvious and sought after service...

Only on PS, not Steam though maybe it will get a discount in the forthcoming summer sale. (Starts 27th June AFAIK).

Strangely enough it wasn't chosen to be put on this recent sale for Xbox. But atleast that means i have purchased a much superior route, Blackpool Branches :love::love:

Looks like a GWR one, so either a layer (unusual choice if so) or more likely a screenshot in free roam

Could be that it's still a W.I.P and they just haven't got the livery yet...? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just scenarios on Fife Circle for the 158 is a shame. I was hoping for a new timetable. Unless I've misunderstood.

Got to say I’m pleasantly surprised that the main route for this will be G2E, Fife is a mess & G2E badly needs something to replace the 385.

Looking forward to this a lot more now.

I like the design of Scottish 158 a lot more than the Midland version. I might get this too.

Still in the green although the GWR logo is obscured. Could be a subtle hint but I doubt they'd go all-in on ScotRail right now - especially as the I7C services don't really fit on any routes (none for GCC, AI only on EDN and only a handful of services actually stop on FCC.)

Of course, nothing to rule out another ScotRail route running as the flagship for TSW5 [:(] but I wouldn't imagine anything for the current collection. Least not because ScotRail is, objectively, overrepresented now.

I guess they‘re waiting until the Leven branch is added for the 158 services on Fife Circle?

Still pretty weird to have no services on release considering the 158 was advertised as an add-on for Fife (now it seems more like an Edinburgh-Glasgow add-on that also happens to have some content for Fife). On the other hand, assuming there’s a rather significant timetable rework to weave the Leven services into the mix, it would have been a waste of resources to add the 158 to the current “old” timetable. They were probably planning on releasing the 158 together with the Leven extension, but Rivet is significantly behind schedule (just started gathering reference material according to the Roadmap, which is absolutely insanely slow progress unless they’re finishing up an entirely different route for a DTG Direct announcement next month).

Behind schedule is an understatement. I'm not convinced the Leven branch will ever release. If i was more conspiratorially minded, i might suspect that the ScotRail 158 being shifted to E-G, means Fife Circle is effectively dead.

I doubt that - it's probably just easier for Skyhook to wait until the route is complete, per se, before adding timetable services - rather than extending them post-release and risking breaking it.

It was always an EDN + FCC add-on and I think they'll stick by that, tbh.

The Leven branch is being worked on and is actually in game already. Sort of. I saw that spur for the line is there at the top of the map, so I spawned in a 47 and drove down it, expecting to be hit with the outside the playable area warning. Nope.

The track is laid all the way to Leven. The terraforming is there, albeit not finished but the riverbed is visible. There’s a ton of bridges, there’s roads and roundabouts. No buildings though.

A YouTuber did a video of themselves driving down it and exploring it.

Yeah the Leven branch is there albeit single track. It shouldn’t take too long to be honest when half the work is already done!

I must say, I hope that Rivet get their act together with Fife, I would love to be able to enjoy the 158 and 170 on that route, but like I say a couple of fingers need pulling out. How many services do the 158s actually have on the EDG corridor?

    None
Not sure what they're doing with that. Unless they make the Anniesland Branch I think it'll just be the occasional service calling at Bishopbriggs, Lenzie & Croy and then another Between Haymarket & Edinburgh. :(

I was disappointed that the 158 for now isn't going to be on Fife Circle. I assumed it would add extra services aside the 170. Will have to see what the Leven branch adds in terms of services.

It is good Edinburgh to Glasgow is getting some extra traffic, it has a lacklustre timetable. But I assume the class 158 runs will start halfway through a journey and will be fairly short.

Most of the 158s don’t even stop at Croy. Helpful for ui but other than scenarios replacing 385s for some reasons or possibly depot runs from haymarket to QS, I struggle to think how much there can be.

I do get not doing timetables until leven branch but they do run often on the Glenrothes services too, so would think could have added them there

Yeah. My thoughts exactly. I think there is maybe 1 or 2 evening Stirling services that do or Perth services and that's it. I struggle to understand where exactly these trains will run to within the games boundaries.

I doubt it's a SC from freeroam, it's a deliberate choice by the PR/Marketing team to include it.
They know what they're doing, and a 'tease' of a HST timetable layer wouldn't have it partially hidden like a "can't see me nyahnyahnyah".
It's either a reference to a new route that is just currently in placeholder, or it's the new UK loco.

I just hope it's a new route (for example glasgow to Perth or dundee) rather than a loco add-on, there's only a few runs on fife circle that use a HST and stop at any stations between Markinch and Haymarket. And on Edinburgh glasgow all the HST services are non-stop to stirling. So it would pretty much be ai only

I wonder if they just go for the "gameplay" angle and have the 158 blended into straight GLA-EDI runs.... either way, great to have this, the 380 and Turbostar to run in timetable on free roam on this route... anything to avoid the 385 and the godawful noise it makes when using the outside camera

The New Timetable for Edinburgh - Glasgow, features:
    - GWR Class 43
    - Class 158
    - Class 170
    - Class 385
    - Class 801

    With services to/from:
    - Aberdeen (HST, 170)
    - Alloa (385)
    - Annisland (158, 170)
    - Cowdenbeath (158,170)
    - Dunblane (385)
    - Edinburgh (All)
    - Glasgow Queen St (All)
    - Glenrothes with Thornton (158, 170)
    - London King’s Cross (801)
Trains for each location are guesses.

The only train 'missing' from this is the 380 although it isn't overly common at Edinburgh (it does appear, though) so no huge loss.

Glasgow QS now has a full fleet, minus the 156 (and the HST's livery), so fairly close to Glasgow Central now.

    July 25th for this one.
