An interesting theory. It wouldn't be the first time the stream has accidentally used a dev build. I hope you're right, but, unless DTG confirm this, I won't expect the launch version to be any better. As has been said, night lighting around cities like Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow has proved too much of a challenge for DTG to surmount.

Even with that small error the route come across really nicely for me personally. And I'm sure there are many others that will reiterate that point and agree that you have done a fantastic job!

I don't think I've ever booted the editor up so fast after seeing that appear on stream XD

I hope that the units covering ‘non existant’ types (156/318/320) have been set up in such a way that (if or) when the correct types arrive, they can be easily substituted in the timetables.

Same as if they add the 380 in Edinburgh, would people be (currently) happy having the 380 ‘replace’ the 334s on the Helensburgh diagrams, just to add in some more AI traffic.

Yesterday Matt mentioned that they will tell us on forums where the sounds are taken from for 380. Do we have any information yet?

Imagine a parallel universe where DTG are adding Inverclyde line or Ayrshire coast along with class 380 on 11th of July. Oh daydreaming...

They could’ve at least added a couple of rail tours. I really dislike driving the 385’s, due to the lack of visibility from the tiny cab window. They add plenty of other rail tours to routes.

That's what I worry about now, unless the next Scotrail route in based on the 156/ 318/ 320/ 334, then I think we won't see anymore, seeing as the 380 is pretty much the workhorse.
Hope I'm wrong and we see a long rural TSW route.
    Like Stranraer though

I do hope your wrong. An Ayshire and Inverclyde bundle with a class 320/318 could be very good! Or maybe the GSW Glasgow to Dumfries with a class 156 and they can layer in the 380 to Barrhead.

Couldn't tell you off the top of my head mate. Sorry. I went on one fairly recently and have seen one running to Glasgow from Edinburgh tho.

Did DTG say anything in the preview stream about whether the 380 would run any services on Fife Circle, either between Edinburgh and Haymarket, or on the east side of Waverley running as AI North Berwick and Dunbar services?

Until future ScotRail routes are released.

It's rare for new locos to layer back onto older routes, especially from older generations of the game. There may be layers onto fife circle if rivet bother but I highly doubt there would be anything for Edinburgh to Glasgow.

Matt answered this in the live stream whilst driving the train and said it won’t layer onto any other routes. He didn’t say if that would change in the future or not just that at present no other routes would have it layered.

As I've said in my previous posts it has the potential to be layered onto the Edinburgh to Glasgow route as a 'transition to 385' service or a 'stand in' service as can happen in real life, or, last but not least AI at Edinburgh. However, this is down to Rivet to implement, and if they can't be bothered updating their own add ons often and thoroughly, I'd not hold out much hope... Unless they add it when they add the Leven Branch? Time will tell. Who knows.

Driving 700s you can definitely hear the motor sounds both on Ac and Dc from the driving cab, id be surprised if its much different with other similar stock from the same company, thats with the windows closed although with the quality of Siemens stuff its normally quieter to have the windows open lol

Didn’t Rivet say that they would look into the 380 for the Edinburgh - Glasgow route ??. Sure they did a while back.

They also said they'd update the sounds for the 385, so don't take anything they say for gospel... I want to test out the 380s capabilities so I'm going to set a path in free roam and let it stretch its legs!

I've been thinking for a while that a route add-on Edinburgh East Lothian & The Borders would be interesting. It would be Haymarket, Suburban Loop, Waverley, North Berwick, Dunbar and Tweedbank, and I'm hesitant to suggest this on the Rivet forum because they have yet to make an acceptable Scottish route for Train Sim World, although they made an excellent one for Train Simulator Classic.

We have the Waverley and Haymarket areas already, we'll have all the player trains soon with the Class 158, 170, 380, and 385 so a new add-on could be made focusing entirely on the route.

It would be great to be able to drive the Dunbar and North Berwick services with the Class 380.

Ayrshire Coast Line would also work. It also gives the opportunity for a new train (the 156) to be introduced.

The sounds are a tricky one, because that's based on ScotRail squeezing in a recording trip, editing it and updating the model.

But also, it is rivet and they tagss A.G.E.S. to update stuff.

A recording trio costs a lot of money the train needs a path to operate on and network rail charge scotrail that who will charge the developer. They also require a train to be available and as the 385 are the workhorse of scotrail fleet an available train won’t be easy to come across. You also require a driver and they are hard to get hold of an available one who may be required to cover another duty.

700s, good trains overall but the wind noise is horrendous in some of them.
It was so bad when we first got them some people used to refuse to drive at 100mph as it too much on the ears lol, been addressed since then but still not great tbh

and tbf to them they did they went and updated the fife circle and added in new features and i imagine they will carry on doing so. TBF i bought the fife circle last week and i actually enjoy it it is not as bad as i actually thought. No complaints from me and i am sure when the 158 drops it will be even better.

Steam releases are usually in the evening, between 4 and 6 I think. We'll see. Interestingly, game description includes class 380 mentions and if you click on them (they have links) they will try to get you to another page but this page eventually will still be the Cathcart one. They have added links for 380 steam page but not the page itself

I don't know about that, the 700 seemed to have the Desiro sounds from TSC, where as from what I heard on the stream the other evening sounded more precise with more distinction. I'm sure we'll find out next week where they come from? Matt said previously they were the ones to source the sounds for the 170, so maybe they done this on the same trip? Or could be a better and updated sound mix?
