On various social media posts I’ve seen recently there are several examples of 31’s in the Manchester area. Just curious why they’ve never been layered into NTP
IIRC there were memory issues when they were developing the DLC, which was meant for Northern Trans-Pennine, so they swapped it to the Tees Valley Line.
It was something with a single Class 31 not being able to swap in for a Class 47 because of lackning power and double Class 31 can't swap in for a single loco in timetable mode.
If you’re on PC you can use put the 31 onto NTP in timetable mode, substituting for the 45/47, using the below mod. It’s a very interesting challenge - having significantly less power it’s possible to keep time, but not easy. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...2-british-rail-loco-and-unit-sub-mods-ongoing
Yes, with a 45/47 on the fast or semi-fast schedules it’s pretty easy. You can take it easy much of the way and you’ll be fine. With a 31 it’s more difficult as they have much less power than the schedule allows for, but it is possible.
I’ve never tried a 31 on NTP but may give it a go. Might even double head one with formation designer
Would be nice to see the 31 utilised on NTP, even if it used a shorter rake of Mk2As and had the same stopping pattern as the Class 101...
