The SEHS timetable was redone with the 700 in mind so they could add it at a later date.

The 104 is the exception to the rule. Most of the time, newer trains aren't put onto older routes.

They are tbf. Take a look at alot of the german routes they get layers added to them they are probably some of the most advanced routes in terms of AI getting added to them with stock releases. Also the 2 wagon packs get layered onto GWR/MML and the fife circle has the 385 layered. i could type more but you get the idea.

Seems like we've got some rather extreme levels of cant going on here on Tharandter Rampe. Hopefully Matt had a word with whoever laid the track afterwards.

I also wonder what the "tilting on/off" switch in the cab is for if the 612 can't actually tilt.

Or why it has a functional safety system that overrides PZB to allow tilting trains to go faster than non-tilting ones. It shouldn't need that if it can't actually tilt.

I've also been on these trains in real life several times and it certainly did feel like they tilted. Very strange.

Newer trains that come with new routes usually aren't, yes, but a Loco DLC or Gameplay Pack adding to older routes certainly isn't unheard of.

All rails are canted on curves apart from very low speed spurs or branch lines. The 612 definitely has a tilt function as you specifically switch it on the the cab when setting up.

And if you have the doors closed when switching it on, it'll even do a little self-test tilt either way while standing still.

It's a really cool unit, I wish we could get another route for it. The 612, 628, 642, and 218 should be able to get us a pretty good timetable on some windy Bavarian diesel main line...

I am especially impressed that DTG has actually implemented its own safety system at the time. It really is a shame they never build on top of this feature. MSB would come to mind, where the ICE-T is actually using it irl!

In my eyes still the perfect route to implement an ICE-T loco DLC incl MSB upgrade to the new layout plus GNT and plus the nantenbacher curve to the KWG high speed line… one can still dream, right?! ;-)

612 has actually two systems... GST allows for 2° of tilt... once you turn on the train, and switch on GST, you can see a self-test, tilting the train left and right slightly, a bit of a wobble heh :) ... and in the fuse box, you have GNT which literally translates to tilting technology/system, and this allows for 8° of tilt... this allows you to run around 10-20 kph faster than the limits posted on the speed limit signs... so this is definitely a tilting train

other one is Acela, it even has a switch called "tilting", which allows you to disable it or re-enable it in case you disable it by accident (then you also need to hold this switch in Re-Arm position for a couple seconds)

so we have 2 tilting trains :) ... on ECML as I have learned, it the "cant" of the track :) nice

you mean GNT? I believe GNT is a real-life system, the part that DTG "invented" was the fact that it showed you info on the screen that would IRL have Ebula on it :)

would be funny if some train constructor/developer took the platform of 218 and added a tilting system :D that would be downright wild and almost Frankenstein-like level of construction :D :)))

Yep, I was talking about GNT. It is the real life system, with “its own safety system” I meant its own in the sense of the tilting system, not DTG. It was misleading looking back at it…
