GCC Cathcart circle line is available now to download on PS5 as seen here (if you own current GCC it is a free download from the store) or £24,99 to buy. However downloading it onto PS5 it does not show in game
Store page is updated on Xbox, with new screenshots. No sign of the update, though. ETA: Uninstalled it in hope that reinstalling would carry the update... Now it won't install. I guess that means it's sending out the update then.
We could do with some proper information from DTG with dates and times on the various platforms and what, if anything, players need to do to force the update. I’m assuming when it goes live on Steam it should automatically update in the normal way and no forced intervention necessary, unless of course it has been released as a new route to sit alongside the old one?
There's not been an update on Steam, at least as far as I can see. And it's pretty odd to release something late on a Friday night - that's very much a no-no, because in the event something goes wrong there's nobody around to try and fix it... or answer questions. So seems like something unintended in this instance. I would expect DTG were anticipating the actual release on Tuesday (since they said in the last stream that it would be slightly ahead of the new 370).
I think it would’ve been best to wait for the game to update naturally next week rather going to the store now. This was probably just a store update
Why are you trying to download it? The update will come as a patch, like WSR if you already have the route installed. The one on the store is for when new people to TSW will download it as dlc after they have bought it. Dovetail would also have told us or will tell us when it will be available. #onlyyourselftoblame
If you have CC installed then you'll auto get the update when it's released (probably Monday or Tuesday.) Unless you keep your eyes closed when playing you should all know this by now!

I haven't lost it, just unable to reinstall it ATM. The same applies to MSB so it's just an Xbox moment. Edit: Literally nothing of any form will install on my Xbox so, no, I haven't lost Cathcart/MSB. It's just a console issue. Edit 2: One restart later and it works.
This post is very misleading the update isn't available yet, the only thing that got updated was the description and some new images
The 'new' remastered Cathcart Line is available to download on the PlayStation store, however, when loaded the old router still shows. So there must be a timer on it that only allows it to be accessible from next week sometime. I downloaded last night after seeing someone post on a Facebook group about it.
Your first sentence sums your post up fully. No one has lost anything if you bothered to look before insulting people you will see it shows as FREE if you own Cathcart. Perhaps do some research next time before you come here trying to be smart and insulting people by calling them stupid. It’s certainly not us who have just looked stupid now is it.
Erm actually, I did do my research well enough to know you can’t buy an update as it is something activated not brought, unlike the original poster who obviously doesn’t watch the streams nor read an article stating so, also if you read OP you’d have seen that OP has not only lost MSB but CC as well
I am the origional poster and as trainsimplayer will confirm as well as SierraOscar95 on the consoles we are on when you own a product and the upgrade is available which is to be a free upgrade it will show FREE as we own the original . When you are logged into your account either on the Microsoft or PlayStation website the price will show as FREE. If you are not logged into your account then it will show the price in this case 24,99. Fact of matter is you coming in here and insulting people by calling them stupid is doing you no favours. Guess you missed the part of the forums rules when you signed up stating to be nice and respectful. I have not lost MSB nor CC so I think you are misunderstanding who is the OP and and who is Not.
Again making stuff up what part of it’s a free upgrade for current GCc owners is difficult for you to understand. None of us have bought the upgrade as it is FREE for current owners. You certainly have not done your research before coming here with wrong information.
You never quoted me and I'm not the OP. I didn't lose MSB or CC - I was unable to install them. Had you read the edits - it was an Xbox error that didn't let me install anything. But, I wouldn't expect that. After all,
But the question is why did you uninstall CC in the first place? Surely you've been playing TSW long enough to know that routes auto update (if you're clever enough to have your console set to it) when the update becomes available! Just because the store page has been updated doesn't mean the update is going to be available before it's ready to be released!
No harm in trying, is there? I haven't been playing TSW actively anyway so it's not as if I was going to lose my evening's plans. And, be it Dovetail or Xbox - they are not alien to premature releases. P.S. Auto-updates doesn't always work. Some things do it, others go into a pile of about 20 updates that Xbox only cares to show me twice a month. Good day.
Can confirm it is the same on PS5 with regards to updates you will get a notifiaction "TSW XXXXX update available" however that does not mean it will automatically install. I can also understand why Trainsimplayer tried to remove the old one and see if the new one appeared as sometimes other games require you to uninstall the old before the new will install so no harm in trying.
I thought the route update wasn't available until the 11th alongside the 380? I know it was mentioned in the article about the route and 380 that the store details and images had been updated to reflect the route update.
Matt said in the live stream they wanted to get the route update out before the 380 if possible but could give no gurantee they would.
Just to reiterate, I, nor 390001 have lost £24.99. We went onto the PlayStation store and the new remastered Cathcart was made downloadable for free. No money was lost, and there was no transactions involved. The point being, is when the remastered variant of CC is downloaded, it still loads the old version (for now), making us believe the remastered variant has been accidentally released for download, but it is not accessible/playable as of yet and must have a timer on it until it becomes accessible and playable. (The other issue another user had of losing another TSW add on was confirmed as a coincidental issue with Xbox rather then downloading the remastered CC) I hope that has cleared any misunderstandings on your behalf up.
Likewise I lost nothing either - just a bit of patience with Xbox which didn't let me install anything whatsoever, until restarted.
Ah I missed the live stream so i didn't know that. If that's the case I wouldn't have thought it would be out too much earlier than the 380 release, as far as I'm aware it's not been updated on Steam yet.
This is far from the first time one of the digital marketplaces has prematurely made a game DLC or update available to the public ahead of time. DTG haven't made any official announcement of the update's release, and the fact it happened at the weekend is enough to confirm it's a simple mistake on the console storefront's end. Possibly the update will officially come on Tuesday and they were just getting the storefront ready. If not, I guess they've decided to just release the update and 380 at the same time to keep things simple.
The 380 isn’t available it’s a separate purchase. The Cathcart download is an upgrade if you own the original. Everyone who wants the 380 will have to purchase that seperate
Yeah I'm aware, I can see why my wording's confusing. I just wasn't sure if the Cathcart update would potentially come on Tuesday (apparently DTG were considering getting that out first), or if it'll now become (properly) available on Thursday alongside the paid 380 DLC.
This whole thread is very misleading, there isn't a seperate product for the remaster, all that's changed is the picture and description have been updated to reflect it's now considered a TSW4 route, the exact same happened with the WSR remaster. The only reason it will show as 'free' to someone is if they have the original from either TSW2 or TSW3 and never bothered to claim the free TSW4 version, if they had it would show as either Purchased or Installed. Assuming you have your PlayStation set to auto download patches then it will be downloaded as soon as it's available, there isn't a way to force a download of a patch that hasn't been released yet!
Aye, That's what I was think too. the one on the left (with the old picture) is probably for TSW3 and below. People still rocking TSW3 wouldn't be happy if randomly a DLC they bought disappeared.
you are incorrect here is the playstation store and the Xbox store page you see the TWO SEPERATE ENTRIES. You can even confirm this yourself on your computer go to the microsoft game store search cathcart and you will see both entries appear. one is the old TSW 2 version one is the NEW version both are available on the microsoft and ps store
FYI taken from the Cathcart Circle Announcments "The Cathcart Circle Remaster update will go live across all platforms early next week. Despite there currently being two separate store pages, it is highly likely that the new one was released by mistake. I am sure that once the upgrade is officially released, the old store page will be taken down. DTG can't afford more DLC-based confusion than there already is...
The Xbox storefront is still saying it’s the remastered version, despite the version being available being an older release (file info is saying 2023). It’s curious hat DtG haven’t requested MS roll back and allowed it to be listed as the remastered version when it’s not.
There's always been two entries... this is not new, search for any route that came out before TSW 4 and I guarantee you will find two entries for it on the store page, it's always been like that. The remaster is not out yet despite what the title says, it will be released in an update
It's unlikely Dovetail will be all that bothered. Anyone who buys GCC now will get the update when it launches, and the only people who may be a bit confused are chancers like myself and the OP who thought "well, it's worth a try?"
Yup, playing the update now. Looks a lot nicer with TOD4 that’s for sure. Edit. Scenery looks amazing. This looks like a brand new route. Excellent job!
So far, not seeing anything but 314s at Glasgow (yes, I do have E-to-G, and all other UK routes/locos installed), plus the big departure board is only showing Cathcart Circle trains - anybody else getting this (on PC)? Is it a case that the revised timetable and busier Glasgow is only available with the release of the 380 on the 11th?
