This DLC is more expensive on Steam than on RSSLO homepage but I got it for 10.49 because of a sale which ended yesterday. Why are the prices so different depending where you buy DLC?
Same with Just Trains. Sometimes Steam sale prices are better than Just Trains, but sometimes it’s the other way as I bought Blackpool Branches for TSW at 20% discount, only 15% off on Steam plus I earned points with JTs to use as discount against another JTs product. Most RSSLO sales have 30% off on average!!
With Steam you do have the benefit of their refund facility, which you don't have buying from RSSLO direct. You also have Steam's digital rights management process which means you don't have to keep and enter keys, and Steams download and installation process is fast and sample, which makes installing/re-installing much easier.
Not every RSSLO DLC is discounted in the Steam Sale The Payerbach - Wien Hbf is also at full price as like the 4748 it is quite new When the next Steam Sale is on I think these items will be reduced
Really? Time to unzip. Time to register product and then input product key. Time to actually install. It takes me over close to 15 mins to do all this on their more recent routes.
It is $2.77 NZ cheaper for me if I purchased it from RSSLO. Steam price is $28.99 NZ. Mind you there would be a currency conversion fee for me to pay. Converting fro Euros to NZ $.
I have updated my computer so now I only use SSD hardrives. I have 1 TB for OS and 2 TB on the disc where I have my games and other stuff I save on the computer. And I have also saved Railworks on an extern 1 TB SSD hardrive. So I do not need to download the game from Steam every time when I do an reinstallation on the computer.
And it is their Product so they sold it cheaper on the RSSLO site and they get all that money. If the sold it at that price on Steam they might get 5 Euro. You got the unit on the RSSLO site at a good price - why are you complaining?
Not complaining but why different prices? Buying Rsslo stuff on steam means also sometimes less scenarios than buying then directly on rsslo.
As I said in my other reply - which you ignored. The RSSLO 4748 is a NEW Unit. If they discount it on their own page they get ALL the money If it is Discounted on STEAM they would only get about Half the same amount of money. After it has been out for a few months it might get discounted on Steam.
As you can see RSSLO original price is 14:99 https://www.rsslo.com/product/obb-4748-tirol/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/2662530/Train_Simulator_BB_4748/ But why are Steam selling it for 19:99 when there is no difference?
It has already been explained multiple times. Valve take a 30% cut on Steam. DTG take a further cut on top of that. At least half of the DLC's price will not go to the original developer. With a discount, the developer will be making even less money. DTG also set price limits for DLC and rarely diverge from these rules - as a result of this, developers like Virtual Railroads have to cut features out of the Steam release. Among other reasons, this is why many third party developers don't release on Steam. On RSSLO's own website, they can charge what they like and keep all of it. Even at a lower base price on their website, they'll still be making more money that way.
Still NOT complaining! This is the only thing so far from RSSLO has a higher price on Steam that on RSSLO! All other stuff have had the same prices both on Steam and RSSLO!
But you are still going on about it even though you have been told WHY the price is higher on Steam.! Give is a Rest
