You need the 380 DLC to get the new timetable that has extra stock in. More info on the Coming Soon article: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/scotrail-class-380-coming-soon
Yeah, thanks, just figured that may be the case! For info, from the article 'Please note, this timetable is not part of the remaster, you need to purchase the ScotRail Class 380 to get this timetable as it plays such a pivotal role in transforming the experience – you will still have access to the original Class 314 timetable'
First impression... Wow!! What a good update. Some small peaces are not 100%, for example NPCs are doing strange things on Bridges but what a beautiful masterpeace is this route now. Well done DTG! Im curious now for the new timetable and class380!
Doing rn an evening Newton - GC service and... where is the improved lighting? Many stations within the circle (Maxwell Park, Pollokshaws East, Shawlands etc) do not have any light at all.
Enjoying the route upgrade so far, but I think the timetable enhancements and 380 on Thursday will be where the route really comes into its own. Currently still lacking the activity on it we know is coming!
I'm curious about the (hopefully) new night lighting. The old one was awful. Would somebody be able to comment already?
I was doing an evening service from Newton (at about 5-6 pm but it was already dark). I could not seen light at most stations. I am going to check it at night time maybe lighting depends on time and not whether it is dark outside
Just had a quick look at it. Looks great, BUT the 314 destination boards are still blurry. Cmon dtg, you do all that gid work and dont sort the destination boards. Tut tut
I had a drive from Glasgow to Newton and it is a great improvement. No more inky black cuttings. The 314 does indeed sound better. The only odd thing I noticed was that the side windows had rain on them even though I had selected sunny weather and indeed there was no rain on the windscreen or falling from the sky! I can't wait till the class 380 is released the new timetable will be much more immersive. This change to TOD4 highlights to me how poor the old lighting looks and how I would love to see every pre-TSW3 route upgraded in the same way. There are some favourite routes with the old lighting which I struggle to enjoy as much now.
If you have rain on the side Windows check the following mods: TSW4 CabCam Improvements Of Jetwash314Headlight
Yes I also noticed the 314 passenger windows in units 1 and 3 are permantly wet no matter what weather conditions are. The middle unit isn't wet but that doesn't update when raining either.
Timelapsing Glasgow Central around 7-9am makes some very interesting viewing. Great seeing how the stock moves in and out
After updating the route, for normal operation I had to disable 2 mods: -!!!JetWash-TSW4-Class314-Headlight (ice forms on the side windows 314); -Aran-GCC-Time-of-Day-Update-v1.0 (creates a nuclear intense glow of traffic lights, station lighting and night lighting from building windows).
Are there specific conditions that make the display go blurry? I’m looking at it now and it looks fine (ps5).
Had a morning drive from Central to Neilston last night and either I've been asleep at the wheel all this time or the surrounding scenery has had a serious overhaul in a lot of places, especially surrounding stations (was the O2 abc always there??) There were so many times I had to stop and wonder "was that there before?" It's my most played route and a lot of the stuff feels like I would've remembered it. All the new greenery etc is looking great too. Genuinely a fantastic upgrade and I've still got a fair bit of the route to re-discover. The incoming busy Glasgow Central will really set this off nicely. The team have knocked this out of the park.
I would like to express my gratitude to DTG for the work done! The remaster of the route made a strong impression on me! I have once again received confirmation of my conviction that all old routes must go through such modernization and come to new standards, after which they will receive a new life. I really look forward to such remasters and am willing to pay for such improvements. I will be happy if it turns out that the expected TSW5 turns out to be a set of such remasters: - Sand Patch Grade; - Brighton Main Line; - Great Western; - Rapid Transit/Ruhr-Sieg-Nord - LGV Mediterranee. I also really hope that the time will come when Rivet will make a remaster of Arosa Line. That would be great!!!
Just about to fire up TSW (first time in over a week!) to take a look at the update... Once it's finished patching!
Credit where credit is due - very nice rebuild! Haven't done a night run but cloudy day looks much better. The new trees and foliage are gorgeous and this is a route that really benefits from having the bridge reverb added and seemed to be in the steep stone sided cuttings too. Top job! Well done to the team.
So far I've run a night time service from Glasgow Central around the loop and back again and I have to say that the night lighting is much improved over the original iteration. I'll run a daytime service tomorrow and see what else has improved. The route is still a bus service but at least you need two hands to drive the 314.
looking forward to the Class 380 so I can drive a train that doesn't take 5-6 business days to brake, I'm all for older stock but I can't get on with the 314 at all, so sluggish
Part of the fun and the whole point of a train driving sim is that these are heavy vehicles which take time to accelerate and don’t brake to a stand like a truck or car. I like the fact the 314 you can’t just hit the platform ramp doing 35 MPH, whack the brake in Step 3 and come to a stand at the 3 car stop board. Takes a bit of planning, especially on the downhill run coming in from Neilston. Each to their own, though!
This is when the sim is at its best. You now have two quite different trains to drive from two distinct eras on the same route. Variety is the spice of life.
One small issue I've noticed, spawning into the new timetable on-foot will put you into the old timetable
Just bought the DLC and tested - yup. Selecting the 2024 timetable and spawning on foot loads the old timetable. This is disappointing.
Oh dear - has that issue been carried over to this route as well? This was fixed for the East Coastway and Koln-Aachen a couple of days ago!
I must say playing the Cathcart remaster what a great job they've done it looks fantastic and I'm really enjoying the 380 I'm all for remastering older routes
On my series x Glasgow Station has few image glitches when leaving the station . Like parts of the structure start flashing in and out also attached pic of pis screen at platform 2 at Queens park is bugged
It's a nice upgrade for sure. Haven't played tow for months but thought id try it out. There's still things that let down these massive efforts in The roads and detail 200 yards and beyond is still not there. They've done a stellar job with the stations and near line side foliage and clutter but beyond that it still suffers from implementing a basic look. Roads are not like that in real life nor are pavements. For me it needs to be Lineside & Station - 100% detail 100 yards lineside - 80-90 detail 200 - 500y lineside - 65-75 detail 500+ lineside. - 50-65 detail Distance = basic As it stands it like this Lineside & Station - 100% detail 100 yards lineside - 70-75 detail 200 - 500y lineside - 50 detail 500+ lineside. - basic
I've just gone on timetable mode and spawned into the old timetable on foot hopefully this is sorted soon
