Emergency Brake

Hi friends, when a make a career trip, I always get the error "emergency brake setting" , what is it, and how to set ?

 

You might have to tell us the train and route as not every train is the same.

Some trains have Safety Systems - UK trains have AWS, German trains have PZB, when you don't acknowledge a warning the Emergency Brakes apply. If you Drive Past a Signal showing Red the Emergency Brakes apply.

Press Q often to reset the AWS system, that will prevent the emergency brakes from randomly applying

 

The DB locos don't have BR AWS systems and don't use the Q Button

 

The locos have a System called PZB and you have to click the PZB button when you pass a signal which is Not All Green
If you don't click the button when you are passing the signal the brakes apply - unlike the AWS on UK locos there is No Audible Warning.

I personally don't use the PZB system as I just don't like it and I turn it off.
