Good day everyone! As you have already known their has been a roadmap for some upcoming us content (both route and train) which has been announced in the roadmap what do you think this route and train could be? I want to hear y’all guesses now the first thing I want to say is I don’t think it’s going to be any New York City content although personally I would love to see that but here’s why.. as some of you may or may not know dovetail got denied access to the nyc subway and also to get pictures for train equipment such as train models.. the reason most likley has to do with teens breaking into subway cabs and stuff my guess is. My guess the route could be maybe the Hudson line? since dovetail could reuse objects from the Harlem line especially trains line the m7A & M3A units. What do you think the us route guys could be? also I want to hear your opinions on if we possibly get tsw5 are y’all excited or not and if so I would love to hear why. Sorry for making this post so long guys hopefully you don’t mind haha.

cActUsjUiCe Personally I would enjoy to see either the (7) Line or either the (L) added to the game. The scenery along the line, the rolling stock such as the R143s and R188s with their amazing propulsion sounds, but honestly any nyc route is great

Well, as you pointed out, the New York subway is out of bounds for DTG, so why suggest exactly that.?

More importantly, which Roadmap mentions any upcoming US content ( other than Metrolink and a future HIS freight pack/route )?

This has been suggested among testers in the past year. I don't want to say that it's "out of bounds" for the company. I'd personally like to see it.

OK, that would be news to those of us not privvy to internal DTG discussions. Matt P. has indicated that the NYC subway authorities have refused access to their property, even for platform photography.

I’d personally like to see the Chicago Racetrack, with some Amtrak action. Just a good speedy diesel thrash line.

Maybe an Amtrak F40PH route? Set in the 80s (California Zephyr?)...
D&RGW Soldier Summit, NS Saluda, WP Feather River, B&O Mountain Sub?

How about New York to New Haven, with the M8 or something. Amtrak can layer in for Services to Penn. Or whatever you're working on atm for DTG

See I myself I wouldnt mind seeing the Amtrak p42Dc, also as the potential us train as I could probably make a bunch of cool livery’s for that train if it does comes out. Also not to mention but this train is also used by via rail.

Would love to see it too, but without the Metra license it's unlikely to appear.

All I mean is that some of us want that route as well. It's not just something that the public wants. It's a pretty popular ask

I think “unlikely to appear” is an evergrowing problem for a lot of US routes.

At least there’s another Metrolink line on the way, gives us a bit more diesel action. Hopefully more thrashy than AVL.

By the way you said a US locomotive was announced in the roadmap? I don't see it. I just see the San Bernardino route witch has been their for a long time now. Then you have the Sante Fe gameplay pack (witch will likely be freight stuff.)

I would love to see the Hudson line in the game. The P32 has always been a locomotive I’ve wanted to see in the game. Although please for the sake of all things, please no more scenery rehashing. We saw how that went with New York - Trenton..

For TSW5 it will be SBD. Truthfully we probably never would have heard of SBD if not for the LIRR delay and DTG wanting to give fans of NA content... something? But it was so early then, they could barely show us anything at all. Since then, nothing, no doubt not wanting to spoil the "surprise" on August 20th. Besides that, we only get two NA routes a year, and I am sure they are not saving SBD for next spring!

After that, who knows? DTG either doesn't have the licenses, or lacks the motivation, or both. If I had to guess it would be Pacific Surfliner, because it could/should be an easy add to their existing SoCal network, but that it just a guess. I seriously doubt we will see any MTA in the game for a long time if ever. For me the German content is definitely the way to go, but if DTG does ever start producing quality NA content again, I am here for it.

Actually your right however based on the amount of *new content section under the 4-6month release you can see about 5 times it says new content and not just me but I’m more then sure but alot of people also I’m sure believe that one of these routes will be a new us route and if theirs a route theirs most likely a train

I would really like to see the Metro North Hudson line with the P32AC-DM and Shoreliner I-IV coaches, Amtrak P32AC-DM with amfleets layered in, along with the Metro North M3A. Or even the New Haven Line, with the M8 and P32AC-DM with Shoreliners. If we get the Hudson line, at minimum, I would like it to go from NY-Penn/GCT up to Croton Harmon, but if we can get it up to Poughkeepsie, that would be amazing. For the New Haven Line, I think it's fair to bring the route up to Stamford, but if there is time to get it up to New Haven, even better. I would really like to see the route be called "Metro North Commuter" as it can be built up over time, hopefully the same applies to the current LIRR commuter, so as time goes on, we can see new scenarios be added and many service patterns across all the lines. I'd really like to see the GE Genesis locomotive make it to TSW.

Do you know by any chance what that third rail line is, is it a passenger route?

Matt has stated in other post that both of the routes I'd like to see in TSW have been turned down for licensing request. The CSX/Amtrak/Tri-Rail West Palm Beach to Miami route and the FEC/Brightline West Palm Beach to Miami route. Interesting to note that these routes are for all practical purposes parallel to each other and are only about a mile apart, even connecting in several locations. A South Florida Mega Route? I can dream.

Pacific Surfliner would be a top choice for me if nothing is happening in Florida.

It’s a separate line that runs somewhat parallel to the actual mainline. It’s less steep than the main route, that being at 0.82% ruling grade compared to the 1.55% grade. It allows journey times for heavier freight trains on this line to be reduced.

There's also the fact that there's zero 3rd parties for US content. There's the recent high iron but their us route is going to be a while away.

Well we know Metrolink SBD will probably be a TSW5 route.

Beyond that, we still deperately need an Amtrak diesel- that would probably be my biggest wish.

Otherwise i say keep building on NYC- more NJT (wasn't there a rumored Arrow III DLC at one point- we have nothing like that in the TSW fleet as of yet), MNRR, LIRR...dare i say it NYC subway.

I'd love to see NY/NJ freight represented in some way- i miss those huge industrial areas from TSC!

Maybe a 3rd party would consider loco DLC for the existing routes (NYT, LIRR, Harlem)- adding cab signalling is a pretty big ask, but they'd be heroes lol.

Are you only looking for South Florida? If not, what would you think about a Folkston Funnel route from Waycross to Baldwin, even though it is half in Georgia? I was thinking this could offer a certain gameplay where you build trains in Waycross and Baldwin and drive between them. Kind of give DTG a chance to reimagine/reinvent freight. Plus CSX seems like they would license. Florida might also work for Baldwin to Ocala or something like that. I would like to see Florida too, but unfortunately as you have noted South Florida is a pipe dream.

With CSX, NS, and Amtrak licensing presumably in hand, North Florida and Georgia routes would be good options. Sure, Jacksonville to Waycross, the Florida A-Line, Bone Valley, etc. All good ideas.

There must be plenty to choose from in the 50s and 60s, be nice to see some retro US content in its proper context, not running on a modern route like the ATSF F7.

Problem is DTG can't get references for period stock for both models and sounds, and thats what keeps being said when we suggest retro routes.

Yes, and I think Matt said that when he questioned the customers about the DLC they said they wanted actual sounds of that locomotive rather than something pulled together from others.
If people want the sim to be 100% accurate for NA locomotives, it seems to take a lot of time with quite a few hurdles.

If also agree that the issue is the lack of NA 3rd parties. Being a UK company would suggest theat NA DLC comes at an additional cost, which must make route choice pivotal. Pick the wrong one and the margins would be very small if viable.
I like NA stuff, so my hope is with the recent growth in 3rd party support, we get 2 or 3 from that side of the pond. That would certainly boost DLC numbers.

I Want more freight options .but they prob not do much I am losing hope fast with the TSW franchise ,for the lack of new NA freight content everything gets shot down thats suggested cant get licence ,people demand realistic sound s DTG cant get access, on and on.I honestly planning on sitting out this time with TSW 5 or whatever usually was excited for new releases but not this time..this NA train has stalled on the grade and dispatch not sending any assistance.. As far as passenger im tired of 1 handled EMU DMU style stuff . More older classic Diesels and electrics needed in NA and UK routes more variety of freight cars ..For NA passenger we def need Amtrak eqipment that can be used to replicate Amtrak services on freight routes in free roam scenario modes as for passenger commuter routes MBTA diesel route with csx freight layers old Boston and Albany line or Boston and Main Pan AM routes which Pan AM now under csx umbrella it maybe could be done ..Pacific Surfliner id be interested in even NJT diesel and dual mode electric operations..How about Con Dot commuter ..

I think that by now it's not too far fetched to assume that the US route among the three will actually be the Austrian route among the three.

Would love more us freight. I don’t expect it anytime soon. I know DTG are saying that customers want actual sounds, but honestly, how many of the customers that DTG are getting feedback from would even know the difference? I think people may want to relax their perfectionism a little bit unless they want to miss out on certain content forever, namely US freight, either retro or modern. If the sounds and physics are believable shouldn’t that suffice for most people?

North American as opposed to US specific, would be nice to see more presence from Canada. License permitting, something in the mountains, maybe Kicking Horse Pass but set back before VIA Rail withdrew passenger service from the Revelstoke route. Or as I mentioned in another thread, flesh out Oakville into Toronto Union and down to Niagara. Interesting to note the comments above re NYC Subway, but if still off the menu how about doing the Toronto Subway. And Calgary has a very nice LRT system crying out to be simulated.
