Hey folks, just wondering if you know some cool YouTube/Twitch channels to watch news, gameplays, tips and so on, about TSW. I often watch British Ace and Dad Rail, but if any of you can suggest more would be great! Thanks and good driving!
One I always watch is Train Sim TV. He's part of the JustTrains team and his content is very good and he knows his stuff IMO. Plus JT make some great content.
Forumuser antony.henley has a YT and often streams TSW. He's well worth a follow. YT Channel: Hentis Rail
If you're interested in in-depth tutorials for signals/safety-systems etc, I would recommend YT channel: tygerways. His tutorials are simply awesome. He's also a member on these boards (tygerways#2596 )
I only watch in german language so i can only recommend german yt. With focus on german content (sometimes other countrys), news for Roadmaps, mod reviews etc. i would say TrainSimPlay Think Rail (not Tsw only but, mainly highquality gameplay and mostly driving without HUD)
Colonel Failure doesn't specialise in Train Sim World, but has made quite a number of quite funny videos on it. He doesn't upload as many TSW videos any more, but his other videos make up for it! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1MxjGBm4ylKSw61v-2qksiBFT2LW2npW (Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here it is anyway)
Maybe there should be a pinned post of all quality YT channels focusing on TSW content? So content is easily accessible for all users, old and new.
https://www.youtube.com/user/RazielKainus I often stream TSW, tho because I use wifi (dont have means / finances to get cable directly to router in the other room), the quality isnt sometimes the best, and I dont have headset yet, so it is not with commentary... yet
Highly recommend RexTactics on YouTube, he plays on a PS5 and streams/uploads regularly. Really good videos and streams, with viewer play alongs as well. Channel: RexTactics (timezone is BST) (https://youtube.com/@rextactics?si=NfzyF_Is_0dfxEr4) Also Trainsimulatordriver, he is an ambassador and makes really great TSW content. He streams from a PC and Xbox Series S/X Channel: Trainsimulatordriver (timezone is GMT+8 AEST) (https://youtube.com/@trainsimulatordriver?si=XjAJGwIAFvNFq6lo) Also (sorry, shameless plug) I stream and upload TSW content, from a PS5 and PS4 Channel: Melbourne Train Guy (timezone is GMT+8 AEST) (https://youtube.com/@melbournetrainguy?si=i79gdC8NAafAG1OQ)
Some good shouts here! Anyone looking for PS5 creators/streamers, I would definitely recommend RexTactics and Melbourne Train Guy! I’d also recommend Casual Rail who does all sorts of stuff on TikTok, he’s also an ambassador!
DC 4260 productions One of the very few YouTubers that does very honest reviews as in slams them if they are bad and gives suggestions on how to fix them
If you're a fan of the outspoken, over-the-top review style seen in channels like Angry Joe or AVGN, then DC4260 Productions is definitely worth checking out. His videos bring that same mix of passionate rants and genuine critique, especially when he's forced to review a Rivet Route or stumbles across bugs mid-playthrough. Some recurring themes in his content include: Ending almost every video with a dramatic vow to stop buying DLC. Only to inevitably cave and purchase the next one, much to his own frustration. He often responds to the "you don't have to buy it" argument with the same energy you'd expect from a seasoned ranter. Getting annoyed if a route isn’t end-to-end… then getting equally annoyed if an end-to-end route is too short or too linear. Breaking down the layers included in a new route, followed by an often hilarious (and sometimes OTT) tirade about why DTG or third parties didn’t include additional units or branches. A love-hate relationship with Rivet Games. He roasts them constantly (think AVGN vs. LJN), yet ironically considers their Isle of Wight route one of his favourites. While the criticisms can be frequent (and occasionally excessive) he does raise some fair points amidst the theatrics. If you enjoy entertaining reviews that blend humour, frustration, and brutally honest insight, DC4260 Productions is worth a watch.
I find him unbearable. Guy always makes slights towards DTG/Rivet, even when they're not the subject of his videos, way too much. There's giving honest reviews, then there's bashing someone every 5 minutes (and no, I'm not defending DTG/Rivet).
I had a look at his channel last night. OK, but he edits out the natural gaps in speech and you end up with being hit with a wall of non-stop talking. Not good if you want a relaxing watch.
When thinking about good Youtube channels PTG Rail comes to mind. He has very good route learning video's for both TSC and TSW. Unfortunately it looks like there has not been very much activity lately. Nevertheless very good source.
He gets a pass in my book mostly because he actually did a video of a scenario I made for TSC but also I know he won't be shilling and fanboying.
If im to watch TSW content on YouTube its mostly for reviews when thibking about purchasing a Route, so im always more for the ones who dont hold back and given some honest critical views. Schnauzapowahz DC4260 productions Train Sim Society The rest is basically sales team for DTG so i mostly cannot take them serious.
The are some great videos from TrainSimTV, TrainSimulatorDriver, BA and Neal8tv as well as others that l love to watch. All so useful and informative. Keep them coming guys
I stopped watching Schnauzapowahz, because his schtick almost always boils down to "Why did DTG make this route instead of the one I wanted?" It gets old.
I don't watch many other than Dad Rail. Occasionally the British Ace for new content I won't purchase. I watch the ambassadors journey they did a few months back and of them all, RichyRail seems ok. Whilst Joe Dobson doesn't really do TSW content, he does do TSC and he's a pretty entertaining fella
Thats an super old discussion that pretty much every time regarding to personal preferences anyway. But i actually enjoy his rants about ballast textures tbh (thats the stuff we are looking at all of the time, so i get his point) And he is absolutely giving credits where its due.
Not TSW, but out of the many posters of cabride videos (which are great for both route learning, and general driving tips) I especially like Don Coffey, a real (British) train driver who provides very informative running commentary. Another I like, for Austro-German routes, is Rail Relaxation, who doesn't make spoken commentary but who adds captions for just about every station, junction, tunnel, passing train and landmark along the route (together with a helpful mini-map and superimposed speedo)
