Hello, and welcome to a new series in which I’m doing. The Platform Post is a new project created by me, which is a weekly newspaper for all forum members to read. And find out their daily information about TSW, and what’s gone on. for this series I will try and write these articles up as unbiased as possible. For a clearer reading experience. Anyways. This is my first time doing this, any feedback would be very appreciated, enjoy! Article Written By MrSouthernDriver - We start with last week, with the release of the famed saltire sprinter, the class 158 scotrail edition. This loco features many changes from its midland mainline counterpart. With updated interiors, headlight clusters. Pis and much more!, however, sadly, the 158 can’t be used on the route it’s intended for, because rivet need to finish their work on the Leven Branch! The price for the loco is £12.99, some players are fine with this price tag, however, there is a majority which think that it is too steep, especially for a reused loco. All in all though, skyhook games here have made an excellent loco. They’ve really got the modelling on point with this one. As mentioned, you can pick the scotrail 158 up, for a price of £12.99 as you all may have heard (unless you live under a rock of course) the expert 101 was officially announced today. The article written by DTG community managers today, showcased the new 101 in multiple screenshots, with the addition of the new ic cab car, also included. along with this, DTG announced the pricing of this expert edition loco, going for an eye watering 30 great British pounds. This price tag has recently caused quite the confusion and delay (haha, Thomas the tank engine reference there), and has been extremely controversial. With most of the community up in arms about the pricing. DTG is yet to make a statement on the matter, but it’s safe to say, it’s caused confusion, and has caused the community to be slightly divided here, some people don’t mind, and some people are hating it. the clock is ticking, towards the August Direct, where the next train sim world game is inevitable. after the absolutely enormous content leak which happened a couple of weeks ago, it has been incredibly silent on this side. It’s just a waiting game. The community remains divided in opinion over the next game. Some people don’t want it, some think it’s just the way it is, some people want it. And some are even doubting its existence still! Anyways, from now, it’s a waiting game. Just trains are continuing with their unnamed uk route, it has been figured out by the community that this could potentially be a part of the WCML in the 80s (that’ll be very interesting and exciting), but for now. We let Just Trains do their magic. Just how they did Blackpool and that turned out to be the best uk route in the entire game, done by JT the first time in TSW! anyways, that is the end of the platform post - thank you all for reading this. And please make sure to give any feedback, it is very appreciated. Goodnight Everyone in the community!
This is just a fun little thing I thought would be quite nice to have. this is mostly just for fun. But can be used for information if you want.
I don’t get why fun stuff like this is so frowned upon, in these forums; It wasn’t necessarily meant to be anything to take seriously…but a fun little idea that I thought would be nice.
It’s just abit off topic, probably better in there. This just reiterates the roadmap with the added drama of other things, something I don’t think we need more of. You’re also probably coming across a little spammy lately, you’ve got a few on the fence posts going & most of them seem to have the same agenda.
I like to suggest to take care of a nice markup, so it look smore like a magazine and publish it as a PDF file. I think the forum markup does you idea no justice. There is no need to tell something really new, but make sure to use original viewpoints.
I like that you're putting your own spin on things. I agree that it'd be better in a PDF format more "newspaper/magazine" style. As for where it belongs, it is "on topic" and it's no sillier than anyone else making a thread or comment about something that "we all know about already." (How many 101 threads appeared in the last day or two saying mainly the same thing?)
I didn’t see anything wrong with it especially when compared to 99% of the other posts in general. People can just be a bit uptight around here.
The key I think is to make some unique content to make it your OWN addition. Add something that's not been in 10 posts already. Put in a piece of railway trivia related to the pieces (I have no idea what you could find out about the 158 or 101, but google some little bit of trivia) Maybe a free crossword generator to throw in some words relating to the news stories to give it a "theme" like "Scotland" or any of the cities the 101 services, or "sprinter" or "intercity" even go simple like "train" or "cab car" Doesn't have to be fancy. Just something to show you're putting something new and unique out there. I do like the little comic in there.
I certainly am not against the idea, and if I ever take a holiday, then I have a nice easy way to catch up. I do like the pictures, though. Did you make those yourself?
UPDATE: from now on, my articles will be created instead on Microsoft word, and linked to here, should be more professional that way
It is a nice idea so good luck with it. However, is most of the community (whatever that is as it doesn't often seem communal) up in arms about the pricing of the 101? I would like to see the figures!
I suspect it may have something to do with the German language barrier. Certainly, if we got something like an expert Class 465 we may have received a different response.
