Regarding pricing, does that mean the Expert 101 will be the same price as other recent loco packs?

As for cost I don't really mind not getting a discount for owning the original, I've had the original on PC and PS4 for a while now and got my money's worth, and the two packs are quite different in scope. Perhaps DTG could consider discounting the original to set the two apart more for new users but I don't think it would be important.

Agree, at least the 101 formation was a good choice for a trial ;).

I can’t see a discount for the expert 101 even if I was buying it. After all the rehashed Scotrail 158 from Skyhook didn’t offer a discount for owners of the MML.
I might get it on deep sale in the future just for the cab car.

i am pretty sure people mentioned this before- the more i think about it the more i think it can make sense and doable maybe? Class 91 and MK4 for expert. easy 30 pounds from me.

    Oh wait licensing problems.... :mad::(

They have the LNER license. I think the issue with doing the 91 would be getting time with one for modelling etc. There’s only 5 in service daily, plus a couple of spares which they rotate for repairs etc.

user emil on discord recently found an asset on art station, this asset is found near tring on the WCML, and this model is contracted to…rivet games?

it seems like rivet is giving DTG a hand in the stations on (redacted route I can’t say for legal reasons)

I’ve just had a look on street view. This building looks to be almost directly outside the station. Looks like a good rendition!

Well DTG can hardly expect us to ignore that, when one of the sub contractor’s sub contractors splashes one of the models on an art site and ends up on social media! Does give an interesting insight into the processes and fuels my suspicion that DTG are now employing fewer and fewer full time staff making the content. It’s all outsourced.

And my expectations for WCML South have just taken a complete nose dive, if Rivet are involved. After recent performance and the debacle that is still WCL and the Class 150, they should have been sacked, not given a high profile commission… :)

Maybe nobody else wants to do it? But yes Rivets quality in TSW is not great in my opinion either. Another wait for the 80% discount job then uninstall...

Why should that be? Rivet have been making stuff for DTG for years. Normally we wouldn’t know exactly what they have made but they make a lot of assets for DTG’s routes. There’s absolutely no need to have a negative attitude to them potentially being involved in the creation of another DTG route as it is what they do all the time alongside their own DLC.

So long as they stick to making static assets that will be fine. Just don’t allow them anywhere near the route itself or the trains in particular. Sorry, but their own work for TSW is generally very poor.

Well, the work they did on some of the Cathcart stations wasn’t actually too bad, however, since the absolute disaster that was Fife, I’ve been sceptical of rivet.

They're good at modelling their stations and trains, and can do good scenarios.

Anything else doesn't seem to work.

On PS4 i actually managed to complete part 1 of the railtour from Preston to Blackpool South with the class 20s. My first go on this run and got platinum.

This is the first time I've been able to complete a service from Preston to Blackpool, although this was Blackpool South. Also managed a short freight trip with the 31 on Seacow wagons, and then another run with the 16 ton mineral wagons.

However I've not been able to complete any services with the 8F , as this results in a blue screen crash on PS4, this occurs in auto firing mode, or manual. This is rather disappointing as it's the only steam tour on the route. I had hoped to get a DLC without bugs, I'm not sure if I can complete a diesel a hauled service from Blackpool to Preston as yet. I've only run the class 20 tour. While the BPO is nicely detailed, it spoils the DLC if some of the timetables are not useable. The ECML Flying Scotsman runs are also full of bugs on PS4.

Is everyone on PS5 now? as some routes seem less prone to bugs on PS5.

I think that perhaps when using the steam locomotives the game verges close to the memory limit on PS4 whilst the PS5 doesn't need to worry about it as much. I presume that if you ran those services on PS5 but using the PS4 version of the game, you would not encounter any crashes. As for general bugs, they may just be an issue with the services itself.

apparently i am only hearing from others how LNER didnt let DTG do the Class 91 or just didnt give them the rights to do it or something.

All i can say is that the last part (going to Blackpool North) of the route section is also pretty lagging on PS5, even in a Pacer.

This gives memories to DRA where you simply couldn't reached Dresden Hbf because of performance on PS4. For DTG this was "ready to release".... A route where you couldn't get to the main stations Terminus....

Just to be clear, I am one of those people and I did not explicitly say that LNER didn't let DTG make a Class 91, just that they may not allow them to release an LNER-branded 91 in the future. We have received no communication on this from DTG, so it's in the list of possibilities rather than the list of facts.

Pinched from the discord! Alex has just confirmed that the long awaited Suspension update goes live TODAY

Can’t believe it DTG, you actually got suspension out before tsw5, I’m impressed

certainly took you long enough, I mean, you definitely could have got it done 3 months ago, but alright

The fact that they've clunkily cut it from the TSW4 announcement presentation and it took them a year to finish it... yikes. Hope all TSW4 buyers are happy to finally get it, because soon you have to buy the next pack of promises. If they finished this now, I doubt they have much ready for the next one, maybe a 500th UI change.

  22. 1) Lets wait and see if it works first, without introducing a whole new set of issues, and that its hopefully not rushed because of a need to shoehorn it in to fit with the release of another product.

    2) It would have been terminal for a few I suspect if it meant buying the product again to gain access to a feature that was to have shipped with the current iteration.

Its a great feature and Im glad its in (although I wont see it as Im still on TSW3, but Im ok with that), but if people start being impressed at features shipping just prior to the probable cessation of support for an iteration, then the bar is indeed now set very low..

So, US content gets the shaft again? We don't even get to see it until another "supposed" update in the future.....

But it doesn't seem like it works anyway so, eh.

Yes, we US fans are so used to getting the short end of the stick, it's no surprise anymore. It's clearer than ever that DTG couldn't give a fig about North America.

Truth is though, this suspension feature is iffy at best if the Blackpool Pacer is any indication. It's rather like the eye adaptation feature, no one asked for it and the dev's time would have been better spent fixing some of the long-standing bugs in the game instead of wasting their time on eye candy-type features.

Oh boy, what a dumpster fire this is

they really released something that was delayed by 12 months; and now they broke it, during the release.

    An utter mess.

  34. Hopefully they'll get it working soon, but it would be nice to at least sometimes have my expectations of DTG exceeded. Trust me, it wouldn't take a lot, starting with just doing what they say they're going to do.

The enthusiasm for DTG here is latent, it just needs to be tapped. Talk about making it difficult though. Still, we live in hope.

ouch, apparently this update had nothing to do with the suspension at all, it was a “mixup” within DTG.

    Absolute mess this is, truly

Oof. That’s one big mixup. Something which people have been waiting for with a ton of anticipation… and it’s a mixup. Whoopsie daisy.
