So it seems like folks that tsw5 is guaranteed coming this year perhaps October I say this because I saw something online that said tsw4 is being removed off gamepass… Not looking forward to the next version of tsw5

As someone said earlier in the thread, DTG may just be withdrawing TSW from Gamepass as a strategic/financial move.

So there's no concrete evidence that "TSW5" is coming. I'm still convinced they'll call it TSW 2025 now that TSC has resumed with yearly iterations.

As for route guesses, I'll leave fans of US and DB to speculate on what's coming there. But I think there will only be one new UK route at release which will be [REDACTED] but I'm still holding out hope that they will utilize the perfectly recreated Barking Station for the C2C route. Though I'm merely projecting my desire for what is top of my list for TSW. I can't imagine I'd be lucky enough to have three home counties electric routes released in one year.

LOL I know that! What I’m saying is that there is modern computer software that can fill in the gap.
Besides this is all being grossly exaggerated, don’t tell me people are going to go the trading standards office because such and such vintage diesel is a decibel out upon release by DTG. It’s remarkable what people think about to use as an excuse for DTG. Not you but the OP who said US retro couldn’t be done by DTG and sited sounds as the reason. What nonsense.

I'm not sure if it's simping for DTG in this case. The company DOES catch holy hell from the railfans if it's not EXACTLY right. Engine sounds are one of those things that people are especially passionate about. I can understand DTG not wanting to catch any more LOVE than usual. Remember, they are choosing what to do out of a whole universe of possible content. So, they choose stuff they think they can do reasonably well, make some money on and not catch TOO much flak for.

Do they succeed? Well... depends on who you ask. Remember we don't see the projects they HAVEN'T taken up that could be WORSE....

Especially when one of the major US train sim Youtubers like to harp on sounds, especially old sounds that are never updated, or implemented terrible.

Here are some of my guesses for the upcoming US route which I have sorted from what I think is most likely to least likely:
    1. Pacific Surfliner: LA - San Diego
    2. North Jersey Coastline: New York - Bay Head
    3. Pacific Surfliner: LA - Santa Barbara
    4. SEPTA Regional Rail: Paoli/Thorndale Line
    5. D.C. Metro Red Line: Shady Grove - Glenmont

Is there another US route besides San Bernadino coming?

I’m guessing there is. If you look at the roadmap it shows San Bernardino Line, an unnamed UK route, an unnamed German route, and five unannounced items. I’m assuming that the pattern for new releases is 2 locos and 3 routes, so I’m guessing that one of those unannounced routes will be a US route.

I'm not confident it'll be a US route beyond San Bernadino. Guess we'll see.

Yeah same honestly considering from the time the last us addon was released which I think is almost 3 months ago we haven’t really seen much us content at all I believe? Anyways it’s very much likely we will get another (Hopefully US Content) route besides the San bernadino

Considering the amount of unannounced content that should be announced in the Dovetail direct stream I believe so highly! Without a doubt it’s a huge possibility

I don't think so because the only Route that is advertised is the San Bernardino Metrolink with MPI MP36PH-3C and Rotem Cars with Cab Cars unless they surprise us with another US Route That would be Fantastic to View

The new San Bernardino route comes with Metrolink's Bombardier Bi-Levels I believe. (Think it was confirmed on a stream awhile ago)

I mean... they're basically the same as the ones we have in game with a different livery by the look of them.
Really tough for me to get excited about those, but I'm glad someone is.

From a realism standpoint, no Metrolink train runs with just Rotems, its always a mix of Rotems with the Bi-Levels.

Weather or no they have the new livery is to be seen though....

As I understand it, Rotem cabcars are used for safety reasons (elongated nose). And for the same reason Metrolink stopped using Bombardier cabcars. But all this does not apply to other operators (for example Caltrain), right?

It was a Metrolink decision to move away from the Bombardier cars, though for Caltrain, those will only be used for the diesel trains to and from Gilroy once the EMU's go into effect.

It is also worth noting Bombardier/Alstom do have a redesigned car that is in operation for GO and Sounder, testing with ACE, and on order for COASTER.

Sad that we have the route and the train for "GO" trains, but lack the license to put them together.
Well... outside of a community mod anyway.

Yep do you know why dovetail was refused access to get the license and stuff from go transit? Was it another safety issue

I don't know the details of why.
I think it was Matt that just said they were unable to get approval.
Seems to be the norm rather than the exception.
With the world as "legal" obsessed as it is, that doesn't really surprise me.

Beautiful model of Bombardier Cars and Cab Cars, it's a shame that Metrolink did not update them, the Rotem from Tri Rail plus Metrolink are horrible, although the Rotem from MBTA are Beautiful

I'd love some more NJT, but i feel like pacific Surfliner routes is more fitting as it's been heavily requested for TSW since TSW1. But I'd be super shocked if Septa was added into the TSW series though as i am from philly born and raised.

The devs confirmed all 5 of those unannounced DLC's on the roadmap have been confirmed to be routes. But they won't tell us what routes, and that on august 20th this month they will reveal all of them to us on a live stream.

I'll check how many miles this flight covers in the United States.

After the Chatsworth crash, I think Metrolink wanted to do away with those cars. Even if the new cab-cars meet current crashworthiness standards.

Just to chime in, I’m fairly biased of course, but my childhood love of trains came from NJT, and I would love to see more NJT action. I recently found myself right back on the Trenton/NYC route. Anything in the northeast is really my favorite for playing and I’m feeling lucky I have what I have, but since the license exists, I am quite hopeful for another route in that region, no matter if MTA/NJT/Amtrak etc

    My US route wishlist:
1.) Santa Fe RR! One of my favorite US railroads; still want the ATSF (or BNSF) Seligman Sub: Needles, CA-Winslow, AZ (or a part of it, at least); plus, the route has high speeds (up to 70mph), lots of traffic (I should know because I was in both Kingman and Williams, AZ on a trip to the Grand Canyon RR, and I saw quite a few BNSF freight trains while I was there). We are getting ATSF on Cajon Pass later this year, though.
2.) Southern Pacific Donner Pass: Roseville-Reno (preferably with Cab Forwards, but that will not happen)
3.) Pacific Surfliner: LA-San Diego with Siemens Chargers and more BNSF action; also a Coaster Commuter Charger
4.) Brightline/FEC: Miami-West Palm Beach (maybe to Orlando as well) with Siemens Chargers and FEC ES44C4, SD40-2/-3, GP40-2/-3, and GP38-2/-3
5.) Metra/BNSF Racetrack (or maybe a CB&Q or BN version)
6.) BNSF Stevens Pass (also include a Siemens ALC-42 Charger and Empire Builder consist; also a BNSF Boeing Fuselage Train)
7.) BNSF Marias Pass (Empire Builder on this route, too)
8.) UP North Platte-Omaha route with the massive Bailey Yard
09.) Conrail or PRR Horseshoe Curve
    10.) BNSF/Seattle Sounder/Amtrak Cascades Line: Seattle-Portland
    11.) Alaska RR: Anchorage-Seward
12.) SP Peninsula Corridor w/ FM H-24-66 Trainmaster, GP9, and SD9; also, maybe an SDP45
13.) UP Evanston Sub: Ogden, UT-Green River, WY
14.) WP Feather River Canyon: Oroville-Portola

    -My US loco wishlist:
    1.) ET44AC/ET44C4
    2.) Siemens Charger
    3.) SD70ACe-T4
    4.) FM Trainmaster
    5.) GP60/GP60M/GP60B
    6.) BNSF/ATSF B40-8/B40-8W
    7.) AC6000CW/C4460AC/ES46AH/C44ACM
    8.) BNSF/ATSF C44-9W
    9.) Amtrak P42DC
    10.) Amtrak P32-8BWH
    11.) SD70M/SD70MAC
    12.) UP rebuilt SD59MX
    13.) SD7/SD9 "Cadillac"
    14.) Amtrak Avelia Liberty
    15.) SD90MAC-H/SD90-43MAC/SD70ACU
    16.) NS rebuilds: GP59E/ECO, GP33ECO, SD33ECO, SD40-2 Admiral Cab, SD40E, SD60E, SD70ACC, AC44C6M
    17.) SD80MAC
    18.) GE U-Boats and Dash 7s
    19.) Alco Diesels
    20.) Baldwin Diesels
21.) More Heritage Units (CSX, NS, CN, Amtrak, etc.; also include the Conrail NS and CSX units)
